May 21, 2012wrote a program which works perfectly fine on the Win7 64 bit machine I wrote it on. Tried to run it over server and previous versions of windows (all 32 bit) and got an error (see screenshot attached) In some googling looked like there was an export function I missed so I've done: -Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions -> Check "Show Advanced Build Configurations" box -Project -> project properties -> Compile -> Advanced Compile -> and I've read there is something that should be changed here (the target framework?)

May 6, 2011I am trying to write code for a login to my program. But the code I have written freeze's the screen. Basicaly I want to check if username (TextBox1) has text in it and then check if password (Textbox2) has text in it. if either textbox has no text then a MsgBox show's with an OK Button. and then I dont want the program to run. Now, my boss want to buy a new computer to run the program, and he wants the one that comes with Windows 7, 64 bit. Can my program run in the new computer without any problem? I'm trying to access a data structure array(uNewValues) of type PLCCOMMLib.ANALOG_CONTIN. uNewValues should be a datastructure array of several elements (iSigIDCount). My problem is I only get the first array element of the datastructure.I've tried several methods and looked into marshalling but don't understand how to implement marshalling if that is the correct option.

Dec 20, 2011I am parsing a web page with the HTML agility pack in vb.net and it works great most of the time, but I have come across a site I need help with.
When I go to grab the web page with my http object (I am using chilkat http and it does not have a javascript engine) I get back the page which is poorly written with document.writes for basically the entire page.
I do not want to use the browser control to first render the page.
Do you know of anything that will allow me to parse this page easily with xpath... does xpath work with javascript? Is there a way for me to remove the javascript with the agility pack?

Dec 31, 2009My OS is Vista Home Premium (64-bit) SP2. I've been working with VS 2010 Beta 2, wrote a few apps, and downloaded the Aug 2009 DirectX SDK. I have all of the source code for a game I wrote ten years ago (with VB5 using DirectSound and DirectInput from DX7) and I would like to get it working with the latest VB and DirectX (and use Direct2D also) but the first problem is that I can't even find how to "include" directx into a project. I was hoping to make a small example app to figure out what I need to do to update my code and what capabilities D2D has, but I can't even get out of the gate with DirectX.

"Result=string$(32,0)" doesn't compile and I tried the trim function, but when I cannot use the "0" with the trim function the program shuts down with the error "Argument 'Start' is not a valid value." I need to replace the "Result=string$(32,0)" with a valid vb express line.

Jun 6, 2012I wrote this VB program to be able to throw a device we developed into programming mode where we use an ATMEL Flip installer to upload new firmware. I can program one device after another running the application off of Visual Studio Express 2010 or Visual Studio 2010, but when I go to publish this file and run it on another machine, it becomes unstable and crashes after each upload. On those same computers if I run the raw unpackaged program under Visual Studio Express, the system does not crash, and I can program devices repeatedly.
