I would like to combine the two things in the title to use as a query for an access database. I think i kind of know what to do, but then it doesn't work so i actually dont, the error i am getting in runtime is that the query is incomplete. The line of code in question is this:

View 3 RepliesI have a START and STOP button and when the user clicks "start" the program does a whole bunch of calculations and all. However, I noticed that when I was testing the program I clicked STOP the program continues to execute stuff.
My START code is basically a while loop that iteratively does some calculations.
So I just put a boolean variable as the while condition and when user clicks stop its set to false and when user clicks start its set to true. However, when I click stop, the condition is set to false yes but it still executes all the code until the condition is re-evaluated right...so my question is how can I get out of the while loop when user instantly clicks "stop"?
I don't want to allow user edit a text in the combobox. How do I do that?

Add each characted to a String list (List(Of String)), execute the replace function for every type of character (for example: Text = Text.Replace("A", "0AA") Text = Text.Replace("a", "1AB")), but there's a problem: it replaces the text, but it replaces those replaced characters too, so when I replace "A", it will result something like this: "0AAB AAA 0AB"... (a long text)), and then add the characters to the result string

I have a combobox on a form with the dropdownstyle set to drop down. Users can either salect a value from the list, or type in any value they wish. This all works fine. However, when one particular item in the list is selected I wish to set a different value. Unfortunately I don't appear to be able to set the combobox Text property from within any of the events that fire when the selected item is changed.

I want it to show the person's name, then their age, (jump down a line) then their ticket price, and then it jumps down a line to show the next person's name, age and ticket price. Issue is, when it's meant to jump down to show the next person, it just completely deletes the last person's details.I'm using this line of code:

I have a program written in VB 2005, the computer used to write the code was running in Windows XP and 32 bit Pentium D. Now, my boss want to buy a new computer to run the program, and he wants the one that comes with Windows 7, 64 bit. Can my program run in the new computer without any problem? View 2 RepliesI have been given a project to update software written in Visual Basic. The software and some files are enclosed in a folder and was written 3 years ago. I have no clue what to do. All I have been asked to include more controls. The user interface allows user to select three processes by clicking on the buttons on user interface. The new requirements is to add two more buttons. There is not much information so I have to use only the resources available. When I tried to open the project, visual studio prompted to convert the project so its compatible with current version. I could open the project but dont know what to do from there. Please guide me towards the right direction. If the project folder is required please advise me how to attach it too.

I'm trying to access a data structure array(uNewValues) of type PLCCOMMLib.ANALOG_CONTIN. uNewValues should be a datastructure array of several elements (iSigIDCount). My problem is I only get the first array element of the datastructure.I've tried several methods and looked into marshalling but don't understand how to implement marshalling if that is the correct option.

I have a small program on the menu written in VB6 retrieve data from Acess run very fast and now want to switch to VBNet2008. VBNet2008 conversion is still normal, but when running the menu does not appear that waiting in line, then click on the menu bar of this menu appears, but not the font is in Unicode data is available.
