Automatically Place Downloaded Files In Folder Bsed On Downloads Extention Sufix?
May 30, 2012
making a simple web browser for work eeh, what like to know is if its possible to save a file of a particular extension to a particular file.I currently use googels chrome when downloading a file it places this (regardless of extension) in a downloads folder without asking where I ant to download this too.
I'm using this code to delete all the downloads from the download folder.
Dim strUserDir As String = Environ("USERPROFILE") For Each foundFile As String In My.Computer.FileSystem.GetFiles(strUserDir & "\Downloads", FileIO.SearchOption.SearchAllSubDirectories, "*.*") My.computer.filesystem.deletefile(foundfile)
This app is just for me to use.The reason why i'm making this app is because i downlaod a lot a files and i want an easier way to delete them.
im using an open file dialog ot add files to my program, im using the code ISO_FILES.Text = ISO_PICKER.FileName //FYI Iso_Files = TextBox & IsoPicker = openfile dialog but this wont just add the file name it will ad the folder path and the file extention,
We won't write your code for you (we may offer suggestions on code you've already written). You need to build a collection of filenames you find and then use a for each loop to do what you want.
I need to ASP.net Page that links automatically to files(pdf) stored in a folder in the same root of the web application..so the script will read the contents of the page , if the file is available in the folder it should create a link to it automatically and if not it stays static text.
How can I do it so every time the user loads my application it will automatically (without prompt, or user selecting) upload all the files in a folder i select beforehand and add them into ListBox1
I'm writing something to download about 200 small (Around 200kb) files at a time. I pass the file urls off to a class which starts the downloads. The problem is that it'll start the download (Just creates a 0kb file) and then slowly downloads each file one by one, waiting for the next to complete despite this being a threaded class. This would be fine but after about a minute, windows removes all of the 0kb files and I'm stuck with only a few of the files being downloaded. How to get multiple files to be downloaded concurrently?
Imports System.Net Imports System.IO Public Class DownloadClass Public downloadUrl As String Public folderURL As String [Code] .....
Any way to save all files that are being downloaded trough the WebBrowser I've made in my Visual Studio 2010 to a specific location, by letting user to chose option save file without knowing where it saves. Or maybe to don't show the "save file" thing at all.
i downloaded a couple of projects from the codebank about the listview and the treeview but when i unzip the zip folder,i found only the .dll and xml files present over there...
I am currently working on a project, which requires to download files from the internet and copy them to certain directory's... I've done the downloading part but I can't seem to get the directory working. The directory is "special" E.G. Appdata Program Files etc., and well when I tried just using %appdata% it seemed to create a new directory NAMED %appdata% rather than actually goto appdata...
If I have a .dll, isn't it I can place it in a folder providing that the folder is included in the project? since I really do have a problem during publishing.
I'm writing a small application that downloads some files over ftp, the incoming directory is monitored by FileSystemWatcher_Created, on creation I want to extract some text from the file and call another application with the text as parameters the problem I have is the FileSystemWatcher_Created procedure is triggered before the file has finished downloading, I could download it elsewhere and move into the monitored directory but some of the files may be quite large and Im wondering if there is an efficient way of waiting until the file is ready? along the same lines what is the best way to queue the tasks as there can be many files coming it at one time, I've looked at threading but would that be suitable for such a task as there will still be a bottleneck at the application called by FileSystemWatcher_Created ?
heres an outline of what im doing:
Private Sub FileSystemWatcher1_Created(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.IO.FileSystemEventArgs) Handles FileSystemWatcher1.Created 'read text file
I have VB 2008 Express installed in my PC. I downloaded a program source code written in VB6 but could not open the files. What do I need to do to get this codes displayed.
I have a process serves as an application updater. It checks it's local cache of files and compares this against list of files online. On it's first run there are no files in the local cache and it therefore downloads ~100 of these files.[code]This appears to work very well, since Explorer confirms that all files are extracted and available. However when I later run this process again, it cannot verify the existence of 6 of these files and therefore tries to download them despite the fact that they are clearly both present and up to date. The offending code is a simple File.Exists call which appears to deny the local existence of these files, and therefore tries to get them again. The system continues to work well, but over time the continual downloading of these 6 files is going to get kind of silly.
in the current project im making i've decided to add in some tools, 1 of which is a renamer based of a renamer app that already exists (called scdtoolz), i want to build my own version of it so i can learn some new things, and build a nice GUI version of it.[code]So what i have managed to determine is that the current app scans the folders contents for the CRC32 Checksum, and renames based of that, since the 456.bin's CRC32 Checksum was 2274F80B, and in the text file 2274F80B is found here 'WWF - Rage in the Cage (T-81015)(U)#2274F80B#'So now i have determined game identification is based of the CRC32 checksums, how would i go about coding a similar ap in vb.net?first i need to make the app scan a folder, but how to return crcchecksum? and then rename if check = XXXX? If MD4 sums are easier/simpler i can use those instead, im lookin at a few hash app sources now, so i think i can see how to get the md5 but not the crc32 yet, or how to rename the 2 files and folder based of the text file.
I wrote an application that copies files from Folder(A) into Folder (B) First it checks if the files exists if yes it will copy them and it will over write the them in fodler (B) and is working great , but if I have a file in Folder(B)that is located in a subfolder the file inFolder (A) will not be copied to the new location.
belwo is the code to copy the files if they exist :[code..]
I've started a simple project to copy a folder from one place to another, so far I have; one folderbrowserdialog to select the source folder, and another folderbrwoserdialog to select the destination folder, I have no idea on the code to copy from one variable location to another.
"Private Sub BrowseFoldersButton_Click2(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BrowseSourceButton.Click Dim theFolderBrowser As New FolderBrowserDialog theFolderBrowser.Description = "Please Select The Folder Which You Would Like Backed Up." theFolderBrowser.ShowNewFolderButton = True [Code] .....
Would it simply be something like: "Shell (CMD xcopy "Me.FolderChoiceTextBoxSource.Text" "Me.FolderChoiceTextBoxDestination.Text" /s)
I need a script that will check files in a certain folder (lets call it folder1) against files in another folder (folder2), if there are any new files, or changed files it updates them in folder2.
I am trying to make a program where I browse for a folder and that Browse dialog displays user selection into a Text Box that part I have completed, when that user selects the folder it will recursively search all folders and subfolders in the directory the user has chosen and display that list in a ListBox here is the code I have so far. Also to note I have found a function for recursively search a folder but I have no idea how to implement it to display in the ListBox from the User selected directory.
This code is the code that lets the user select the folder and display it in the textbox
Private Sub SourceButton_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SourceButton.Click With SourceBrowse
[Code].....
On a side note I also want the list to display all the files in the folder as well.

I am using Visual Studio 2008 Setup project. I need to copy one folder and the sub folders into the program files but when I tried to copy or add the folder to "Application Folder" in File System editor, I am able to add only files and not folders.
how to change the install folder path in a setup and deployment project/Installer class from program files to C:usersPublic in windows 7 and allusers folder in xp.Want to add MVP with my name.
I have made this installation program and everything work just fine, but I wish to improve it a little. Atm. all the files being installed is in a seperate folder, and the installation program simply move them to the right location. There is a builder program too.I would like it to add all files from a list to the programs resource.folder instead of a seperate folder.Atm I add the installation file to the destination folder with the following line. [code]
Private Sub Button6_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button6.Click If FolderBrowserDialog1.ShowDialog = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then End If End Sub
I have managed to get drag and drop working if this is any help:
Private Sub ListBox1_DragEnter(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As _ System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles ListBox1.DragEnter If e.Data.GetDataPresent(DataFormats.FileDrop) Then
So I've been using some code to generate directories and such in a custom treeview, but am looking to expand upon this idea. While it's not using recursive functions, and only calls functions when expanding levels, I'm not quite sure how to put some of these together.find a way to just search through all folders on the PC. If the folder contains audio files, that folder is than added to an array (searching a folder for audio files and adding that folder to an array is done). It's just recursivly searching all folders on the PC.Here is the code I've been using for the treeview (I'm not sure if it can be adapted):
Public Function ListAllDrives() As String() Dim arDrives() As String arDrives = Directory.GetLogicalDrives()[code].....
Basically I am trying to enable the user the ability to select a folder and the folders music files populate a list box. I want two list boxes on the page, one with all the contents of the folder and then the other one for files selected from the first box. I have no clue on how to do this at all...
