Making LinkButton Visible In Certain Rows Only Within GridView?

I have set up a GridView as set out below. You can see there are four LinkButton's per row. What I want to do is make certain LinkButtons available depending on which row they appear in.

When I try to make them not visible use the code below in FormsGrid_RowDataBound, it doesn't work and a get a null value error.

I am dynamically adding a link button to every cell in a gridview. Adding the button works however the firing of the even handler doesn't. i need the linkbutton to call a function and pass some data for processing. My code is below. I have found solutions from the site that have gotten me this far.At the moment the gridview loads the cells with buttons in blue. when you click them they go back to plain text and no function is called.

When a Link button I have in my gridview that expands the table to show a nested gridview i lose all the row colors that i get from this function. What I need is a way to call the function when the link button is clicked.

I'm having an odd problem when making a form visible and not visible and it not continuing to function. Here is what I have happening. I have a main form (frmMain) that is an MDIParent. On this form I have a menu to open a second form (frmCalculate) and populate a listview from Items in the database.
As I click or select items in the listview on frmCalculate the tag is read and data is pulled based on the id stored in that tag and fills in various fields on the form. This works great. However, I also have a context menu attached to the listview that allows me to perform a "what if" scenerio on the items I am calculating. When I select this menu, I hide the frmCalculate and open the frmWhatIf form where I can mess around with values on the item I had hilighted in the listview on frmCalculate. Nothing is pulled from or written back to the database here, all the information is filled in from fields on frmCalculate. It just allows me to look at rising costs and how they will affect my margins.... anyway.
If I then close frmWhatIf, it brings my frmCalculate back by setting its visible propery to true (never closed frmCalculate, just hid it). At this point if I click an item in the listview I get an exception for a null reference. IF however I never hide frmCalculate, I can open and close frmWhatIF without ever having an issue. Why do I lose the functionality to select items just by hiding and unhiding the form? As a test I added two menus to the toolbar on frmMain one called hide and one called show. I then opened frmCalculate with original menu item to populate the listview and selected a few items to test that it was working and then using the hide menu I made the form invisible and the show button to bring it back. This yielded the same exception so without even opening frmWhatIf the problem still occurs.

I am working on Treeview control and Gridview Control VB.NET08. In the Treeview i have Parent and Child Nodes. Like: [Code] Comparing the Parent Node text and first two digits in the Column values. I want to add rows inbetween the gridview rows based on the parent and Child Nodes. If i expand the First Parent Node Called "31" then according to the Number of Child Nodes (for first parent node(31) there are 5 child nodes.) add rows in the gridview.
These New rows should be add under the 31-xxxx. If i expand the 32 Parent Node based on number of Child Nodes, add rows under the 32-xxxx. [Code] I am getting the rows in the end of the Gridrow not in the Specific row.

I have a CheckedListBox with 6 different indices that all correspond to a textBox. For example: Index 0 corresponds with TextBox1, Index 1 corresponds with TextBox2, and so forth. When the user selects the item in the CheckedListBox, the TextBox with that particular index becomes visible. I am at a loss. I have been working on this for 4 days now, with no end in sight!

I am trying to make a customer class that will simply make a bunch of controls (hotspots) Visible value = False.
For instance: WinStartSpot.visible = False
Thing is I have roughly 60 "spots" that need to be turned on and off as the user clicks through the program (its a very simple OS simulator) I tried to make a class using boolean return but that failed miserably. how to code a class like that?

The basis of the program is that the user enters info into to text boxes then hits a button, when the button is clicked and all the parameters are met, the visible property of a rather large picture box becomes true. What I want to do is have the form start off small, just big enough to hold the labels, text boxes and buttons and then resize when the picture box is made visible.

I have noticed that even after going to this line, it does not make the label visible. I am thinking this may be a refresh issue as the last line hit is lblIsInvalid.Visible = True. Is there any refresh property that I may not be aware of for a label control.

I'm making a project that has a bunch of different types of calculators in the same tab within a tab control. To organize these calculators, I put each one in a groupbox, there are about 5 or 6 in all. When I was finished designing all of them, I placed all the groupboxes in the spot they needed to be, but once I started creating the events for them to be visible or not visible there are a bunch that don't show up. I think it has to do with the fact that VB thinks that the groupbox is part of another groupbox that isn't visible so it doesn't show.
How can I go about only showing a single calculator at once in my tab?

I am using the Tabcontrol with autoscroll = True feature, when i make hidden controls visible on the tab there position is out of place, one work around for this is to set the scroll position to 0,0 by doing this...

I want to make a gridview with 4 columns. (Checkbox, Hyperlink name Title, Dynamic name Price, Dynamic named ASIN#)I want to be able to add new rows to the gridview from three different strings. I have a gridview that contains user info and one of the columns is a date when the user was added to the system. Is it possible to use the GridView.onRowCreated method to check if the user was added within a given time frame? If the user was added within that timeframe, then the row is added, if not, then that row is not added.
Note that I can't modify the datasource of the gridview, so I need to do this somehow as the gridview is being created.

Is it possible to loop through a gridview with more than one page, the gridview I'm looking at has a pageSize of 20, there are say 26 records (over two pages) and I want to be able to loop though all the records.
For Each row As GridViewRow In GridView.Rows The count of the above is only 20 as the pageSize is set to 20, I can see that the pagecount is 2 but how do you loop through the next page in a gridview? Or would I have to just iterate through the orginal datasource?

I have a dynamically-created GridView which to which I'm attaching a handler using the AddHandler command. The problem is that when I try to refer to sender.rows within that function, it won't do anything because it says that sender.rows.count = 0. I've done enough dynamic form creation that I'm pretty sure that I'm creating the controls, binding them, and adding the handler at the proper points during the page init/load load_complete. Also, I have nearly the exact same code-behind on another form that is not dynamic, and it is able to access the values in the rows.
Considering that the RowCommand event is firing, it's clear that I'm clicking on a row. For some reason it's just not in scope for the handler event. Background: What I really want to do is access the values that are databound to the row. I'm creating a SQLCommand and binding that to the dynamic grid, and I would prefer to talk to the grid's datasource, but that doesn't seem to be possible. Perhaps I'm missing something, but for now it seems that reading the values from the GridView (which I hate doing) is the only thing that works.

How can I implement the following:I would like to have a checkbox on the top of my gridview. When checkbox is checked should show all the hidden rows from the gridview but when is unchecked should only show the unhide ones.
I only need 1 checkbox at the top(not in the header of the gridview), I found couple of examples but all of the have checbox as coulumn and then added to the header as well.

I have asked a question similar to this in the past. I was able to resolve it by removing gvRowDataBound completely from the code. This is similar code except I can't remove gvRowDataBound sub.
The issue is that when you click the Edit button of the first row, it allows you to successfully update that row.After the first row, if you click on thr edit button of any other row, enter the value to update, it doesn't update that row.
Instead, the cursor moves down to the next row. I didn't design this and having difficulty figuring out what needs to change.

So I've created a gridview with checkboxes so the user can check as many fields as they want and delete them with the click of a button. It works except that it deletes all selected rows except one, the row with the lowest number. I can't firgure out what logic error is causing this.

I have a gridview which gets its input from a database with sql. There is a column with checkboxes in the gridview, so you can select which row you want to export. There is also a column that's called "Project Number". When you push the button "Export" the program should figure out which row is selected, get the project number from this row and connect to the database to get the data from the selected projectnumber. I already got the part where it gets the selected checkboxes. But I'm stuck at the part where it gets the projectnumber from the selected row. Must be something with Datakeys I think.
