Like, I want a button to start five different timers, but at 1.5 second intervals. How could I make this button start timer1, wait 1.5 seconds, start timer2, wait 1.5 seconds, start timer 3, etc, etc?
View 2 RepliesI have a main(frmmenu.vb) form which is the mdi parent of other two forms (namely frmcandidatelist.vb and frmviewcandidate.vb)...........Two forms are displayed simultaneously on frmmenu each separated by split-container(frm-candidate-list.vb on left side and frm-view-candidate.vb on right side)
Frm-candidate-list.vb shows name-list of customers on a datagridview. While i click on a item from that list, details of the respective customers(like name,id,photo,address,etc) is displayed on the right side form(frm-view-candidate.vb).....
But there is a problem. Loading details of a customer takes time(since i have to connect from remote database)... So the whole program becomes hanged(like) till details are loaded.....
I am creating a server-client type application that allows the network administrator to perform tasks on remote computers by using TCP sockets (TCPClient and TCPListener).The server application needs to send out a message to a client machine (with client application installed) and from this, the client application will send back the required data (i.e. system info, task progress etc). This part works fine.However, I am having trouble in getting the client application to constantly listen for an information request in the background. It should be listening whenever the application is running. What I want to do is to have an event handler which, when a message comes through, acts upon the instructions to send the relevant information back. The server does not need to constantly listen for data, as it will only receive data after it has sent a request.

I am building an application that will run through various tasks like database backup, zipping some other files and so on.I have the progress bar figured out for each individual task and I have all my tasks working.I am trying to build an interface to display to the user to show them the progress of the entire run.I was thinking like a list box or other object where I could put a green checkbox image or red x image as each tasks runs and is a success or failure.

What I wanted to do was make an option to have variations in tick time. I want to put in a check box, and if it is checked then there will be 10 "variations" in click time, ranging from 1 second too soon, to 1 second late.
hit the space bar every * seconds. When you hold down a key it will spam 3 times every 2 seconds. Or whenever you press space (meaning the key). I need the exact codes. I've tried Sendkeys.send {"Space"} Etc.

View 5 RepliesI am looking for a method to dynamically execute blocks of code ('tasks') in a VB.Net program for a mobile robot. The bulk of the program is running in the background retrieving variables from serial ports, APIs, and the like. The user would select a task in the form of a toolbox button which pops up a dialog to enter task parameters. An accept button would add the task with the parameters to a list. The user would add more tasks to the list as necessary, and then click an 'Execute' button to start the sequence of tasks. The program would then perform the first task with the given parameters until finished, and then start the next task in the sequence and so on.
An example task would be:

A Parameter dialog opens and a destination is entered in the form of GPS coordinates. At run-time the task compares its current GPS position with the position entered in the parameter dialog. It calculates the direction to go and drives the motors accordingly. This particular task would loop until current position = destination position. Move on to next task. The code within the tasks themselves is not the problem, just the execution of the tasks.
I am currently making a small flood runner like game, I completed most of it, but I can't seem to get the jump action right. I got it to jump straight up and back down again, but it doesn't work when I use a left/right arrow key with it to perform a left/right jump. The sprite goes straight up if I only press space.What I want- The sprites goes up and right or left when I press space while holding right or left.
View 2 RepliesFor my job I have to manually tick up to 50 boxes on a website and then click expire to remove the records from the site. Is it possible to automate this by having a small application which on the right hand side has a browser control and on the left a button which says expire all records. When this is clicked the tool knows to tick all the records and then click on the expire button? If so what sort of control should i look at using or VB code?
I want to progress this at a later date aswell so that the tool would then be able to click on each record individually to enter the record and then click re-publish? How do I get my program to loop round and then stop when it has finished expiring all the records? Also sometimes there are more than 1 page of results, so it would need to be able to tick all results, then click on the expire button, but then be able to click on the next page button and then repeat the process so it expires the records on this page?

I'm making a printable Purchase Order form using Crystal Report. This report retrieves data from two tables. Example, I have fields PONumber,DateofPO,Airline,DateofFlight,ETA,ETD from a table called tblFlight. I have fields PassengerName and Rate on another table called tblPassenger. Each PONumber can have multiple passengers. How can I get it so that I'll just be generating one PO that shows the multiple passengers while the rest of the items show only once? I've placed the PONumber and DateofPO on the PageHeader and the rest of the items on the Details section. But right now, on the Details section, if I have 3 passengers, the other fields also show 3 times on the report. Also, I'm considering to make a query but I have a conditional statement on my query, a WHERE clause that retrieves data dynamically. My problem is I'm not sure where to put the query, will it be on the .rpt or just on the Form? NOTE: I'm coding my SQL queries on the application itself, not inside the server, so no stored procedures/functions for me here.

I then need to populate the different columns in the DataGridView with the relevant information. A few people have filled in the Questionnaire incorrectly and I need to split the answers into the correct columns. I will give you an example -
Some people have filled 2 different e-mail addresses into the same answer. They are separated with a space, an equals sign and another space. One e-mail needs to go into one column and the other e-mail into another column.

Note: getRandomProxy gets a random proxy from a list.Problem is that whenever RefreshIESettings(getRandomProxy()) is applied, the proxy will be applied to all of the WebBrowsers, while i would need to have a unique proxy for each WebBrowser. Not having this would just error out the page in the other browsers and so on.
Well, i was thinking of making a Tetravex solving program in order to practice my code writing skills (language will propably be Visual Basic) and I need help finding an algorithm for solving it. The only algorithm I can come up with is the brute force way, place a tile randomly in one corner and try every possible tile next to it and continue the same process, if it reaches a dead end revert to a previous state and place a different tile.

I am currently developing a small capture system program. What I intend to do is to create a hot key for my program to capture image (press F8 then it will invoke a button to click automatically). What I manage to do for the time being is only registerHotkey procedure. (Please refer to the coding below). I am unable to create a hot key which perform like a button click.
This is just a testing program: I have 2 forms specifically. Form1 with a button and form2 with a picture box.
I would like to run this program where I can just simply click F8(for instance) instead of clicking the button.
For the time being I am able to run this program and put it in the system tray when I minimize/closed it. When I click F9 the program will pop up again. What I would like to do now, is clicking F8 (for instance and the program able to click a button from form 1 automatically). I had used PerformClick but still unable to do so.
