IS there any method to perform two different tasks in one click event Like By clicking OK button i can do
1- Instantiate a new form
2- Add somthing to listview or can do something else
But these tasks not to me simultaneous. One task at a time Actually these taks will be performed simultanously, but i want one task to be performed at a time, not both?
Is it possible to do a multiple records editing by linqtosql method in one click event? What I've been trying to do is to edit all the names in the table which are having the same account number. I was able to edit but only one name has been edited and the rest are not.

Why is it these codes could only edit records in one datarow?
I have an asp.net website to manage projects. I realized that when I click for the next project really fast and often it overrides all the next projects with the data of the first one. I call a method to save before to go for the next project. I use also a session variable for the id of the project.
EDIT: It looks like the sever stacks the save method and the ids but keeps the values of the first project in the controls this is the ajax that calls a server method to get the id and set it in an hidden field:

I am building an application that will run through various tasks like database backup, zipping some other files and so on.I have the progress bar figured out for each individual task and I have all my tasks working.I am trying to build an interface to display to the user to show them the progress of the entire run.I was thinking like a list box or other object where I could put a green checkbox image or red x image as each tasks runs and is a success or failure.
View 1 RepliesI am looking for a method to dynamically execute blocks of code ('tasks') in a VB.Net program for a mobile robot. The bulk of the program is running in the background retrieving variables from serial ports, APIs, and the like. The user would select a task in the form of a toolbox button which pops up a dialog to enter task parameters. An accept button would add the task with the parameters to a list. The user would add more tasks to the list as necessary, and then click an 'Execute' button to start the sequence of tasks. The program would then perform the first task with the given parameters until finished, and then start the next task in the sequence and so on.
An example task would be:
GPS Navigate:
A Parameter dialog opens and a destination is entered in the form of GPS coordinates. At run-time the task compares its current GPS position with the position entered in the parameter dialog. It calculates the direction to go and drives the motors accordingly. This particular task would loop until current position = destination position. Move on to next task. The code within the tasks themselves is not the problem, just the execution of the tasks.
I have two forms. On form one, I have a serious of check boxes and in form two I have functions relating to those checkboxes. When the second form loads, I check the Checked State of the Check Boxes, and run the appropriate functions. This is working just fine. The problem I have, is that the second form doesn't show until the functions that have been selected have completed. It would be ideal if the form would load and then run the functions.
I don't think that I could have everything run on startup, but hopefully there is another method. I know I could load the second form and then just run the code in the previous form, but this is less than ideal, because I can't show the second form as .ShowDialog and I want to be able to split up the code into the other form so that it's not so crowded and easier to read on the first one.
For my job I have to manually tick up to 50 boxes on a website and then click expire to remove the records from the site. Is it possible to automate this by having a small application which on the right hand side has a browser control and on the left a button which says expire all records. When this is clicked the tool knows to tick all the records and then click on the expire button? If so what sort of control should i look at using or VB code?
I want to progress this at a later date aswell so that the tool would then be able to click on each record individually to enter the record and then click re-publish? How do I get my program to loop round and then stop when it has finished expiring all the records? Also sometimes there are more than 1 page of results, so it would need to be able to tick all results, then click on the expire button, but then be able to click on the next page button and then repeat the process so it expires the records on this page?

I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

I have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?

View 2 RepliesI have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I have one checking in a textbox Leave event. I will go check whether this ID is already exist in DB or not. If exist, I will prompt MSG box to user.
When I click on Close button while focus is on textbox, this textbox Leave Event will trigger first before Button Click event.
So, the form remains open without trigger Button Click event.

View 1 RepliesI have a listview set up in Details View and I run a ascending/descending sort routine on the appropriate column when the user clicks one of the column headers.However, when I switch companies and reload the listview with new information, for some reason the event fires and I get an indexoutofrange exception as I believe that the information has not yet loaded when this fires.The e.Column property is set to that of the previous column which I clicked even though I have clicked nothing.
