.net - ASP.NET Session Variable Is Wrong After Multiple Click Event Fast?

Feb 29, 2012

I have an asp.net website to manage projects. I realized that when I click for the next project really fast and often it overrides all the next projects with the data of the first one. I call a method to save before to go for the next project. I use also a session variable for the id of the project.

EDIT: It looks like the sever stacks the save method and the ids but keeps the values of the first project in the controls this is the ajax that calls a server method to get the id and set it in an hidden field:

Calander Click Event, Auto Creating A My.setting Variable

May 24, 2011

Im trying to create a diary system that on click event of the built in calander in vb.net opens the current diary entry for that day. i am using the my.settings variables to store the entrys the problems i am having is how to create a my.settings variable automaticly if one dosnt exist for that date (will be using the date of the clicked day as the name e.g. 10/5/2011)

So basicly i want the user to be able to click through the dates on the calander and the entry be displayed in a text box next to it, blank if nothing is there and the user can edit/save them after just need the code to auto create and i guess how to search the my.settings im quite new to using this storage, i normally use text files. the pic shows the program so far, it has one diary entry but it has no relation to the date. the label is linked to the calander also , displaying the selected date.

Edit Multiple Records By LINQ To SQL In One Click Event?

Oct 19, 2009

Is it possible to do a multiple records editing by linqtosql method in one click event? What I've been trying to do is to edit all the names in the table which are having the same account number. I was able to edit but only one name has been edited and the rest are not.

The codes I used.
Private Sub Button2_Click(------------) Handles Button2.Click
Dim accnt As String
accnt = Textbox1.Text
Dim db As New memrecDataContext()
Dim editrecord = From mem In db.Table1s
[Code] ......

Why is it these codes could only edit records in one datarow?

VS 2010 - Function With Same Click Event Procedure Stores Current SalesAmount As Variable In Array

Jan 3, 2012

I am trying to code for is as follows: Construct a two dimensional array and enter into it a sales id number followed by twelve variables which represent sales totals made by the sales agent. this must provide space for five agents. I can declare the proper array and have done so as follows

Dim Sales (4,12) As Double. I also crafted a click event which will count from 1-12 (which excludes the sales id number) and disables the sales id number so it cannot get used. [Code]

What I am trying to do is setup a function within the same click event procedure which stores the current SalesAmount as a variable in the array and moves to the next slot to get ready to store the next SalesAmount. However I have no idea where to go from here. I have tried a ton of different pieces of code which are either all littered with errors or do not return a value when I call it. Calling the total of each row and the total for all rows is something I need to do for display and I am not one hundred percent sure I know how to do that either.

Deletes The Wrong Variable?

Jan 24, 2012

I have two (2) variables in a textbox (L7B) and (D2B).

TextBox3.Text = (L7B) &
" " & (D2B)

I want to write over (L7B) without changing " " & (D2B).I have been using the TextBox3.Text.remove command with success however in this case there are just too many scenarios. (D2B) isn't the same number of characters so I would have to determine the number of characters to remove in each scenario.

To write over (L7B) I thought I would try TextBox3.Text.remove ((L7B)). To my amazement VB accepted this command but when I run it it removes " " & (D2B). How is it removing the wrong variable? I could understand if it didn't work at all, after all that's what I expected to start but to delete the wrong variable !! why?

Asp.net - Can't Get Session Variable

Jan 14, 2011

Partial Class Preferences_MyPreferences
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Dim userID As String = Session("UserID")

This is just a page in asp.net. I want to be able to grab the Session("UserID") but every time I try, I get this error:

Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the \ section in the application configuration.

If I put that Dim userID inside say the Page_Load Event, then it works fine. Why does it have to be inside an event? I want to dim it once, and use it throughout the page.

Asp.net - Label Using A Session Variable

My vb.net application needs to use a session variable. I don't really know how to use it in ASP.net. I've been trying to use what my books have, but I can't get this label to work. I need the user input to be validated against the database and if their code is in the database, the textbox should disappear and a label will appear saying Welcome. The way I wrote it, I get an error saying the server tag is not well formed and in the codebehind it says that the ID of my label is not declared. Can anyone spot any problems with the code I wrote?

Asp.net - Way To Do A Logout - Destroy The Session Variable

Mar 3, 2009

Here is the situation: User logs in via username/password stored in an MSSQL database If the user is authenticated, the system makes a session variable with username/SHA1'd password and boolean if the user is logged in or not (for subsequent pages) I need to be able to destroy the session variable. I want a confirmation box as well.

This is what I have so far:

//
function doLogout() {

[CODE]...

Since it is an ajax request won't reload the page (the functionality works fine, the request destroys the session), I think I need a different approach to do this. I would really like to be able to do it all in ASP.NET if possible.

Session Variable Is Showing As NULL

Jun 30, 2011

I'm using some session variables to store and pass data across several pages of an ASP.Net application. The behavior is a bit unpredictable though. [Code] Ok so far so good, on a normal page load. If the user completes the form action, hits the next page, and decides OH NO, i needed to change field xyz, and clicks back, corrects the data, then submits, the session variable is showing as NULL. Why would a cached session behave this way? I'm not destroying/clearing the variable, unless I fail to understand the scope of session variables.

Session Variable Not Taking Effect In Asp.net?

Sep 29, 2011

I have a session variable in my asp.net application. The session variable holds a value from the database, that reflects a customized HTML color value.In my application, I have an asp button with server side code

btnContinue.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.FromName(Session("ContinueColor"))

Issue: However, when I run the application, the color value is not being reflected in the button. I did double check, and the session variable does hold the correct value.There are other objects, that use session variables to display colors, and they are working fine.

Update: When I force a color "btnContinue.BackColor = Drawing.Color.Blue", that works perfectly fine.

.NET : Runtime Is Initializing A Variable To An Instance Of The Wrong Class?

Jul 26, 2010

I've got some code that looks like this:

If ediFileGroupAbbr = "NIPDSINV" OrElse ediFileGroupAbbr = "WWPDSINV" Then
Dim p As New PrivateBillingAdapter_ForN(ediFileGroupAbbr, businessLocationID, mode, EDIJobItemLogID, BusinessUnitID)
Return p.ProcessEDI(True, False)
ElseIf ediFileGroupAbbr = "FOPDSINV" Then

[code]...

to which I'm passing in a value of ediFileGroupAbbr = "FOPDSINV". But the code is executing as if it's dropping into the third condition (p is a PrivateBillingAdapter). So I've stepped into the code and, sure enough, it drops into the second condition. BUT, if I step into the execution of the constructor, the debugger jumps to an odd place in the code - sort of the middle of a method and not on any actual line of code.A couple clicks and it hops back out of the constructor, still in the second block of code. But if I mouse over the variable p to see it's type, boom, its a PrivateBillingAdapter (from the third block).Like I said, something is clearly wrong but I don't know what. I've tried rebuilding several times but with no new results.This is VS2003, framework 1.1 with VB.NET.
