Running Tasks On Forms Load Event

I have two forms. On form one, I have a serious of check boxes and in form two I have functions relating to those checkboxes. When the second form loads, I check the Checked State of the Check Boxes, and run the appropriate functions. This is working just fine. The problem I have, is that the second form doesn't show until the functions that have been selected have completed. It would be ideal if the form would load and then run the functions.
I don't think that I could have everything run on startup, but hopefully there is another method. I know I could load the second form and then just run the code in the previous form, but this is less than ideal, because I can't show the second form as .ShowDialog and I want to be able to split up the code into the other form so that it's not so crowded and easier to read on the first one.

I got a combobox, that when the texted is changed, its supposed to run a query to update a field in my database. Here is the issue The event im using is TextChanged, well unfortunately when the page loads, it changes the text when populating the values. Is there a way to make this event wait to fire until after the list is populated? Ive ran into this problem before with datetimepickers, but I was able to offset it with a boolean, but this combobox is calling the textchanged event everytime it adds an item to the list.

I have a simple vb.net app written using MS Visual Studio 2008 with SP1 and .NET framework version 3.5. This app simply queries a MySQL table into a dataset, makes a csv file from that data and then uses Oracle SQL*LDR to load a local Oracle table. Nice and simple.
This app runs fine on just about any computer or workstation I have tested it on with no issues but when I move it to the workstation it will live on...it shuts down just before it hits the load event. I have tried to capture any errors but so far there do not seem to be any errors generated at any point...it simply terminates with no explanation.
I even went so far as to recreate the project from scratch and still got the same result. this phenomenon only seems to occur on the very pc I am expected to deploy to.
the only thing I know for sure is that it is getting at least as far as the declaration section of the form. Once it has dimmed all objects/variables/etc..it seems to just shut down.

I've been following a codeproject article on using the interop forms toolkit (basically a way for developers to slowly upgrade their VB6 projects to .net by allowing .net components run in VB6)

While the .NET form is working fine in all other testing projects and environments, I've found that the Form_load event is actually firing twice once it's in executing in the VB6 runtime.Not only annoying, its forcing my initialization code to execute twice (causing all kind of problems on the second run).

I've been working on creating forms and objects through code in the the load event of Form1, truthfully theres a few questions I have under this one category but to start I want to create a button click event that will check what button was pressed then set that button to a variable. I am trying to develope a small graphics application in VB.NET. My startup form has a picture box with a background image loaded from a file. The user can click spots on the picture box and this draws some circles on it. On exit the coordinates for these spots are saved to a file.In my form load procedure I load the background image, the coordinates for the graphics(saved from the last time the program was run), and then call the drawing procedure.
The drawings appear for an instant and then dissappear. If you click the picture box the graphics re-appear.The form works fine once you do this.I guess the picture box is refreshed by the form load event and this is causing the drawings to be wiped.(I stalled the call to the drawing procedure by using a timer and this works but I am sure there is a proper way of fixing this)Is there a way of ensuring a form is fully loaded or making sure the drawing procedure occurs only when the form is fully loaded?

I have a form for which the form load event only fires one time. When the program starts. It will not fire again until I end the program and restart. I have tried .show and .showdialog, but it acts the same. I have read about form load events loosing the handles, but my code looks exactly like it should.

IS there any method to perform two different tasks in one click event Like By clicking OK button i can do
1- Instantiate a new form
2- Add somthing to listview or can do something else
But these tasks not to me simultaneous. One task at a time Actually these taks will be performed simultanously, but i want one task to be performed at a time, not both?

Ineed a VBS script that removes all scheduled tasks which start with a specific string.
For example, delete all scheduled tasks which start with "My Application Tasks..."
I wanna use this VBS script in my application uninstaller so all tasks created by my application are removed at the uninstall time, however am not familiar with VBS.

Can I make a menu item to execute 3 tasks?For instance when I select a file from a ListBox and I press ToolStripMenuItem1, the program will move the selected file to a directory, execute archive.bat file and the move the archived file to another directory?Hmmm... I'm trying to execute different code depending on the button clicked (button 4 or 5) on Form1, but when I click on button5 to activitae the code on the Form2's Load event everything is Ok, but when I click the back button to return to Form 1 and click on the Button4 to activate the code on the Form2's Load event again, it doesn't active the Form's Load event, is there a way to form the form load event every time I access it from Form1? Following on from my post yesterday (how to anchor buttons/controls to various sides of the current form when the form is resized) I have run into another problem. I am setting the width of my datagrid to be 80% of the form width on a 'form resize' event with 10% of the width at either side so it remains centred in whatever size window is available. This works fine. (mydatagrid.width = me.width/5*4)
I then decided to dynamically set the width of the 2 columns in the datagrid each to 50% of the width of the datagrid. Again, this sub is called in the 'form resize' event. This fails because the datagrid hasn't loaded the data from my sql database when the first 'resize' event is triggered. I did a bit of testing (by placing a simple msgbox statement into the resize event and the load event) and it seems the 'resize' event is triggered three times before the form's load event.
how do I stop the resize event triggering when the form loads (or at least make the load event trigger first).

We have a purchased application written in Visual Studio 2005 that uses tab controls for displaying information. One of the tabs is for reporting and I am trying to run some code to enable and disable a Validate button. It has a proprietary report component (LxReportView1) that is initially disabled. As user enters information, the Validate button is used to check for required fields. After data entry entries have been validated, user click Validate one last time and record gets flagged as validated and report component (LxReportView1) gets enabled for use. Ideally, whenever this Report tab is clicked, it will run my code EACH TIME.[code]Works fine when user's first action is to bring up a record that has already been validated. So when user clicks on Report tab, report component LxReportView1 has been enabled for use and the Validate button has been disable just as designed. Problem is that given a list of records, if user selects a record that has NOT been validated yet and then later on brings up another record that has been validated, code does not run. How can I get this code to run EACH and EVERY TIME the form loads.

It works perfectly fine when I start the application, but when I do RunAs and start the application as another user, the MapDrive function does not seem to execute. Everything else in the application works when running as another user, just not on-load events.

I have a few subs that run under Webbrowser1.document completed section of my app I know the code words because I tried it out using a new project and tied the code to a button and it works great. After stepping into my code during run time it appears that the app is trying to call my sub before the next page appears. What would be the way to place a pause on the Thread so that the web page can catch up before running the next sub?

I have a textbox1.textchanged event in my application.. so when I start typing into the textbox, it looks up the value of what I'm typing against a dataset. There is a datagrid in my application as well, and if i click a cell in the datagrid, it pastes a value into that textbox... when this happens, I don't want the textbox to do look up the value against the db.. I just want it to paste into the textbox without any further action..

I have a problem with running code in the right order. What I am trying to do is updating a session state variable when I press a button. When I run my code it always runs the event handler for the button after my page_load function.The reason why I need to run it after page_load is that, thatI add a line to the textList. Which the loadGui() should add to a table. The table has a remove button for all lines so the loadGui() function can not be added later becuase then the event handler of the remove buttons wont work.
User press the add button which add a row in the TempResponse Session(TempResponse) gets updated loadGui() runs and includes the newly added row

Each time my webpage is loaded it runs a routine in the page_load event of the page behind which increments a viewcount by 1.
The problem I have is that the routine runs even if use refresh to reload the page.
