View 1 RepliesI have been playing about with the WM_SYSCOMMAND Message and more specifically with the SC_SCREENSAVE parameter which is a cool way to pick up when the screen saver is activated as seen below:[code] What I can't seem to find is if there is a way to detect when the screen saver comes off.

View 1 RepliesI have an application than disables the screen saver temporarily in order to run a slide show. I use this to turn it on or off:
i = SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SETSCREENSAVEACTIVE, active, Nothing, SPIF_SENDWININICHANGE)
This works fine in XP. In Windows 7, it disables the screen saver properly. However, when it is enabled again, at the normal time for the screen saver to come on, the system asks for a password instead of showing the screen saver. From this time on until the screen saver settings are adjusted in the control panel, the password screen is displayed in place of the screen saver. Is there something else I should be doing for Windows 7? I understand that SPI_GETSCREENSAVEACTIVE is not supported in Windows 7, but SPI_SETSCREENSAVEACTIVE is supposed to be.
I am trying to allow the user to launch the Windows Screen Saver by clicking on a button. I have the following code:
Code:
Option Explicit On
Public Class Form1
Private Declare Function SendMessage Lib "user32" Alias "SendMessageA" (ByVal hWnd

I have a very long running syncronization task that cannot be interrupted by the screen saver or aggressive power saving modes. I want to make a single api call to stop power save mode and then restore it once the task is done. The following code is peaced together from various other posts but it has no effect on XP's power management settings.[code]
View 3 RepliesOur program works fine, until someone locks the computer or the screen-saver pops up (but not ctrl+alt+delete). Once the computer is unlocked/the screen saver is closed, the application stops drawing everything except the title bar, and stops responding to input - it displays a mostly-white window which can't be moved or closed.(Example of application freezing - the mountains are from my desktop background)If we let it sit for about 5~10 minutes, it comes back to life, and doesn't hang again (even after locking the computer/screen saver popup) until the application is restarted.

View 4 RepliesI'm attempting to convert VB 5.0 source code to VB 2008. The converted code will then be slightly altered to facilitate its incorporation into a larger project that I'm developing in VB 2008. After using the conversion wizard (which is actually written for VB 6.0), I have 49 unresolved issues -- less than I expected. Much has changed since the days of my prowess as a programmer (Fortran in the 70's), so working my way through even as few as 49 issues will be a challenge, and will (no doubt) take me a while.
The UI for the VB 5.0 code I'm converting is a "virtual remote," with control buttons that (when clicked) trigger communication to a USB-connected device. With assistance, I've been able to develop my own "virtual remote," contained within my VB 2008 project. Eventually, I will "substitute" mine for the original. For now, though, I'm wanting to use MY "virtual remote" to trigger the original.
I have the executable for the VB 5.0 program, and can run it simultaneously with my "under-development" VB 2008 code. Problem is: I don't know how to cause a "click" on MY virtual remote to trigger a click on the original virtual remote (which is being "monitored" by the other program).

View 16 Repliesi have been looking everywhere for the method used when you click the [X] Button so like that i can run some commands on form exit. I found Form_Unload method replacing Form with the name of my form and no luck. I'm sure there has been some talk on the subject but searching forum shows nothing that seems to work.
View 3 RepliesI am having trouble with a separate program that keeps saying Adobe flash is not installed. And I have tried everything but it still wont go away (that was off topic a bit). I want to create a program that will auto click the words "Click Here" if the error message shows. Because if I click there then it will work normally until it pops up again.

I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?
Heres the tutorial with my new code encased in asterisks ...
Code:
Imports System
Imports System.Windows.Forms
Public Class form1
[CODE]...
this event works ok, but the problem is that I don't know what field was clicked. Should I use objectinfo or something else? VB.net won't recognize for example e.objectinfo.
View 1 RepliesI have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?
Example:
Private Sub listBox1_DoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) _
Handles listBox1.DoubleClick
[code].....
I have created Command Array like follows.
Public Class Form1
Dim NewButton(25) As Button
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[code].....
So.. I want to get each and every command button name when I press One of command button.
Ex:
If I press NewButton8 then I need msgbox with it's name, text (All of command button properties if possible). Button Name is very important
I'm facing a strange problem in my dgv, I have the dgv bounded to a datatable, now I had to add a new column to let the user checks the rows that he/she want to export to a text file. I had the checkbox column, but when I run the application I can't check any row, I try to add in the click event of the dgv to manually check the column but it still not works...
My
VB
da.SelectCommand = com_pfda.Fill(ds, "table_1")dgv_dados_obra.DataSource = ds.Tables("table_1")
Dim dgvColunaCheck As New DataGridViewCheckBoxColumnWith dgvColunaCheck
[Code] .....
The code in the click event, because the normal click in the checkbox doesn't worked:
VB If e.ColumnIndex = 7 Then
If dgv_dados_obra.Item(7, e.RowIndex).Value = 0 Then
dgv_dados_obra.Item(7, e.RowIndex).Selected = True
[Code] .....
I don't know why this doesn't work...
It was pretty simple in VB6 to invoke the 'click' event of a command button (i.e.; btnNext_Click). I am having difficulty trying to do the same think in VS2008.
I am getting errors at line btnNext_Click(): Error1Argument not specified for parameter 'e' of 'Private Sub btnNext_Click(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs)'.
Error2Argument not specified for parameter 'sender' of 'Private Sub btnNext_Click(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs)'.
I am creating aplication that displays images in many different ways using Picture Boxes. Single page with tabs, double page using fading in/out effect, double page 'page flip' effect and single page auto scroll effect which I have problem with. I am dinamicaly creating picture boxes, loading images, placing 'path' to a file in tag and adding handler to each picture box. All fine...

I use this code that works well.
Option Strict On
Public Class Form1
Dim mylist As New List(Of Integer)
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim mystring As String = "12,13,12,12,12,12,13"
[Code] .....
Imagine that you have a couple of baskets with different number of apples. Need to be determined (in textbox2) in which the basket is, for example apple number 29. (the number is entered in textbox1). I want to add two textboxes and expand the code to do two jobs at once ( in one button click event):
- For example, need to be determined in which the baskets are apples number 17. and 38.?
Private Sub DataGridView2_CellContentDoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles DataGridView2.CellContentDoubleClick
Dim doubleclick As String = "SELECT BibleBookNames.Book, Bible.VerseNum,Bible.Verse1 " & _

my source code in design part is:
<asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" Style="display: none" CssClass="modalPopup">
<asp:Panel ID="Panel3" runat="server" Style="cursor: move;background-color:#DDDDDD;border:solid 1px Gray;color:Black">[code]......
Ok button click is not accessing click event.
