Can anyone shoot me a zip file for the RSS Screensaver Starter Kit for Visual Basic .NET Express
Microsoft's web site claims it is part of of the Visual Basic .NET Express download. I downloaded it but when I click on file / new project, RSS Screensaver Starter Kit is not there.
How can I get my screensaver to fill the whole screen. it has in the past but, just quit working several months ago. I have Windows Vista

My application was sent back, if windows screen saver activated and if user lock the system (ctr+alt+l) my application went hidden. This works fine in XP. In Windows 7, it disables the screen saver properly. However, when it is enabled again, at the normal time for the screen saver to come on, the system asks for a password instead of showing the screen saver.From this time on until the screen saver settings are adjusted in the control panel, the password screen is displayed in place of the screen saver.Is there something else I should be doing for Windows 7? I understand that SPI_GETSCREENSAVEACTIVE is not supported in Windows 7, but SPI_SETSCREENSAVEACTIVE is supposed to be.

View 1 RepliesOur program works fine, until someone locks the computer or the screen-saver pops up (but not ctrl+alt+delete). Once the computer is unlocked/the screen saver is closed, the application stops drawing everything except the title bar, and stops responding to input - it displays a mostly-white window which can't be moved or closed.(Example of application freezing - the mountains are from my desktop background)If we let it sit for about 5~10 minutes, it comes back to life, and doesn't hang again (even after locking the computer/screen saver popup) until the application is restarted.

For example, I used to buy little sets/kits from radioshack that walked you through building a clock, radio, etc., or other little electronics devices. The kits came with all the parts and instructions so you just assembled them. Hence, I'm just looking for something similar to that for vb, minus the components obviously ;-). I like to learn through hands on experience so I'm just looking for some guides that have you build a program and briefly go explain the workings of the code.

View 2 RepliesI'm sitting here with a print out of the class deck, class hand, and cardgameframework from the blackjack starter kit for visual basic and I'm lost as to where I need to go to use the above mentioned classes. I am looking to create a simple poker game using these classes as a base. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something functional. Starting off I would like to hit a deal button and have it deal 5 cards into pictureboxes and then give me an option to (mouse click) hold any number from 0 to 5. Once I have clicked the cards to hold, I would like the program to deal new cards into the other pictureboxes. If I could get the program up to that point it would be a great place to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Has anyone used the cardgameframework before?

I start either, a VB.Net or VBA procedure and within 30 seconds the Excel worksheet (previously displayed) blanks out. In both VB.Net and VBA,ScreenUpdating = False. My expectation is that the previously displayed screen would stay static as if I left my desk to get a cup of coffee; came back and the same ole Excel worksheet was still there?Of course, setting VBA Screen Updating = False accomplishes two goals: 1) speeds up processing and 2) saves the user from seeing unnecessary "garbage-processing" steps.Why does VBA or VB.Net ScreenUpdating = False not freeze the screen at the time of its invoking?
View 11 RepliesI hope I got all that in this question title. Let me explain. We are starting on small desktop app that will snowball into a big app with many forms. The database is SQL Server. It will have classic stored procs/functions performing classic CRUD functions. Given a table or stored proc in SQL Server what is the quickest way to create a form with all the hooks to maintain a table.
For e.g. lets assume I have table like this (most code below is pseudo code)

From this as source I want to create my Target which is form with 3 labels and 3 textboxes with add delete modify buttons (or OK button to add if not exists or modify if exists)

The code generation tool or technique that will be used should generate the correct db hooks (create SQL parameters, SqlCommand, execute sql.. basic try catch etc. Is there any open source tool to do this ? Some trick or templated approach via VS 2010 ? Worst case any third party tool ?

Now, I need to be able to take a picture of the entire screen, not just the focused window.
Now I'm creating at app in VB (Microsoft's, Visual Basic 2010) which will be in full screen but I want to know if I can put all my content in the centre of the screen. At the moment it's at the far top, left of the screen. When the screen size varies I want it will stay in the middle for all shapes and sizes. Like :

I'm trying to get coordinates on my screen by holding down my mouse and placing it over different parts of the screen. I'm using the mouse_up and down events in a button to kinda simulate the mouse being held down. The problem I'm running into is that anytime I go past the button's bounds, the coordinates I want stop. This is what I have so far:

View 2 RepliesI have created a GUI and have set my 'Form1' window to match that of my PC monitor ( 1280x1024 ). However when i move the project to work on my netbook, the screen on my netbook is only 1024x600 and half my GUI is missing. Is there any way i can adjust my settings so that my 'Form1' GUI will auto adjust and display in full on both screen when i move the project back and forth?
