I have developed a windows application using visual studio 2005 (vb) . I am done with my development and want to roll this out to my colleagues.
I have created executable file (exe) when i was using vb6 but i am not sure of how to do it here in Visual studio 2005.
The executable file in binDebug works great when used in a computer with Visual Studio on it. How would someone go about adding some of the libraries to it so it can be run on ordinary computers.

I would like to run a .exe file made with visual studio 2003 but I get an error every time I run it on a windows 7 machine, vista machine, and xp machine. The error on Windows 7 and vista says "application has stopped working" and then makes me close the error box. In windows xp it's a little different error, "the application failed to operate (0xc0000135) Click on OK to terminate the application."

I'm very new at using Visual Studio (about 3 days!). I want to create a project that I created into an executable file. The help menu states that I should go under the 'File' drop down menu and select 'Make' to convert into an .exe format. However, the 'Make' selection is not present under the 'File' drop down menu. How can I make a project into an executable file??

View 2 RepliesOK, So I am making a program in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. I have gotten all the forms and everything correct. Except the text color. I need to make it so when they reach the end and it says if they got it right or not, that the program changes the textbox's text color. The code I currently have is when form2 = the first word in the spelling test. Form2.textbox1 is the first place where the user puts the answer. Form1.Textbox1 is where the user puts the original word.

I am just making the transition from VBA to full on VB net 4 using Visual studio 2010. I think I have the basics down but am struggling with learning the commands for windows/filesystem manipulation. The problem is as follows I am creating my first program - the aim is to accept a root directory, then go through each sub directory in that location and delete the contents of any files whilst retaining the folder (hope that makes sense!)

I'm currently making an dynamic interface using the latest version of DevExpress. I finished making the DockManager with multiple DockPanel in it but there's only one problem.If you look on screenshot #1 you'll notice that in the center of Visual Studio, there's no DockPanel (screenshot #2) container for those document tabs. Also, those document tabs CAN'T dock inside side panels, but side panels CAN dock inside document panels (see screenshot #3)
That is what I'm trying to do. You can see how far I am right now on screenshot #4.
So here's a summary of my questions
1) How could I make some kind of main document panels that are filling the blank space between my side DockPanel?

2) How could I make those panel undockable inside side DockPanel but make the opposite possible?

View 3 RepliesWhen I load my solution and compile it after first starting the IDE, everything works as expected. After changing source and recompiling, I get the following compile error:
Error 11 Unable to copy file "objDebugCAMDRS.Library.dll" to "binCAMDRS.Library.dll". The process cannot access the file 'binCAMDRS.Library.dll' because it is being used by another process. CAMDRS.Library.
After closing Visual Studio 2005 and reopening the solution I can compile again successfully. This is an old solution that has been fine for a long time. I just recently changed computers and reinstalled everything.I am running win XP Pro sp2, Visual Studio 2005 sp1.

I am new to Visual Studio and (I am using Visual Studio 2005)I know how to connect/edit, etc to an access database by just using coding but I am having a problem with the Visual Studio Database wizard.
When I create a new Data Source and I specify a Microsoft Access Database File (OLE DB) connection + *.mdb filename, etc I am able to drag the table name onto the form and browse the contents of the database when running the application. No problem there.
The problem is when I run the application and adding new records to the database via the form, the new data does not get saved. I run the app (F5) + add new data to the database + save + then close the app. When I rerun the app from Visual Studio (F5), the new data is gone.
i would like to ask how am i going to add files with filenames that have non-English characters Also when i try to reinstall my application i get an error.Do i have to always change the version of the application in order to make an installation without errors ?

A VS05 Web Application has a References folder in the Solution Explorer where you can select a reference and view its properties, such as CopyLocal, in the Properties window.But a VS05 Web Site only has a References folder in the Class View, where you can't access any properties for the references. Basically he wants us to create a form in Visual Studio 2005. It has a group box with two Radio buttons, (One for boys, One for Girls) and a List box that lists the corresponding names of the Gender you selected with a radio button.Alternatively, you can click the Report button and get the list that way.

How to send logic 1 to pin 3 in Visual Studio 2005. In Visual Basic 6.0 code is simpe: TXD 1, or TXD 0, but I don't know how to do this in Visual Basic 2005, that's important that is logic 1 on PIN 3 of RS232 (serial COM port).
