But when I wanted to hide some of the nodes from appearing on menu while staying shown on sitemappath I cannot figure it out. I tried to change the sqlsitemapprovider code but was unsuccessfull. I have found David Sussman's (from sp.net) answer. but it was for a .sitemap file. So how can I manage to do the same with the sql sitemap provider mentioned above.[code]...

Context Menu Strip Not Appearing On Data Grid View?
Oct 10, 2011I've done this many time before, but for some reason I can't get it to work this time.I'm trying to get a ContextMenuStrip associated with a DataGridView. I've defined each to the form and in the properties of the DataGridView I've set the ContextMenuStrip property equal to my ContextMenuStrip name (cmsDictionary), defined the onClick event code, but when I run nothing happens.
The program was originally code with a dynamically added context menu but it was popping up all over the place and I wanted to remove that and just let the grid manage it.
How To Stop Tools Strip Menu Items From Appearing In Taskbar
Mar 6, 2012I have a program which runs mainly though a NotifyIcon in the bottum right of my windows screen (XP). Whenever I open the ContextMenuStrip that appears when the icon is right clicked, a box also appears in the task bar. I also have nested menus inside the menu (mouse over one item leads to another menu), and each additional menu also creates a taskbar box upon appearing. So once I am at the third or fourth nested menu, there would be 3 or 4 windows appearing in the taskbar. After the menu disapears, so do the windows in the taskbar.How can I stop the taskbar from displaying boxes to represent these menus? I have done nothing in my code as far as I know to create this type of behavior. I have searched for similar problems but have found nothing similar. There is no "showintaskbar" property for these items as far as I can see, and no other property that I can find which would affect this. I have investigated the owner of the contextmenustrip since I read the owner may effect these type of behaviors, but that doesnt seem to be helpful as there isn't an owner property of the contextmenustrip.

However, when I show the drop down menu for a breadcrumb with many sub items, I get a very long list that sometimes exceeds the screen size. In the Windows Vista/7 example however, there are a maximum of 18 items displayed at a time and a scrollbar appears at the right when the number of sub items exceeds this number (18).

Build A Program That Has A Dropdown Menu?
Oct 18, 2011I am trying to build a program that has a Dropdown menu (Combobox) where you select between a list of items like
xbox
ps2
ps3
wii
then once you select one of the options the program will bring you to a new window (In the same window) with a new box that has a list depending on which word you chose earlier. As an example.
If you chose xbox on the first window it will bring you to a window with a new list like
fighting game 2009
fighting game 2010
fighting game 2011
then if you select fighting game 2011 you would get another window that showed a list that had a list of characters from that game.

Funny Hat Guy
Big Nose Guy
Dead Guy
Beast Thing
Funny Turtle Thing
Then in the new window you get a selection of options for the character you selected.
Special Skills
Combo Moves
Unlockable Content
Then if you select one of those you get a new window that has the lists. for example.
If you chose Special Skills show the list of special skills like the following.
Uppercut: Down + Y
Face Smasher: Back, Forward, B
and maybe beside the list of moves it could display an image of a Screen shot that shows the move (Or not if it is too complicated).

Feb 8, 2011I have my program set up to read the contents of a Directory, and then populate a drop down menu with the names of the files in the directory. (I am using the MenuStrip). Inside my program, it is also set up to create a new file in that directory, and I wish to add this item to the dropdown menu upon creation. The list is entirely created and populated from the code, and the contents of the list depend entirely on what's in the directory.
I have tried using MenuStrip.Items.Remove(menuItem1). Now, when this command gets executed, it does remove the top level Menu, however when I go to repopulate the menu, I end up with duplicates of my files listed in the drop down. I am stuck with how to clear these out as well?
