Mouse Disappears When ComboBox Gets Focus?
Feb 13, 2010I have a combobox on my form. It's DropDownStyle is set to DropDownList. As soon as the control has focus and the list opens up, my mouse disappears. What is causing that?

Combobox Value Disappears When Filling The Cascding Combobox?
Dec 15, 2011I have cascading comboboxes and when I choose the value for the first one everything is fine. But when I try to choose the value for the second combo the value of the first disappears. However, the second combobox is populated with the appropriate values and then I have to choose again the value for the first one. This is the code:

VS 2008 Mouse Pointer Disappears When Filling Textbox?
Jan 31, 2011I have a main form "Parent" and another "child" form. When I am filling a textbox in the child form the mouse pointer disappears. Then I hit the tab key to jump to a combobox. At this time when I move the mouse, the pointer doesn't come up until I click the mouse button. This is annoying and the user of my program doesn't like it. How can I keep the mouse pointer always on top. NOte: although the main form has the parent property as true, the other child form are not defined as child forms.

How To Set Focus For A Form On Mouse Over
Nov 4, 2010i have two Forms. The first one is my Main Form and the second one my Child Form. From the menu in Form1 i open Form2, butnot as ShowDialog(). After showing Form2 this form has the user can do something. But at the same time he is, and he msut due to application function, able to do something in Form1.Basically this works, but the problem is when the user klicks on Form2 on a Button and then he wants to clicks on a Button on Form1 he has to click two times1. time to set the focus for form12. time to click the button

VS 2010 Invisible Webbrowser Control Mouse Focus Stealer?
Dec 16, 2009I wanted to know if there is a way to stop my webbrowser control from steeling my cursors focus? i mean its bad enough i have to hear the god damn thing in the background as it refreshes the pages.
What i built is basically a program that checks my marks on my school website and verifies to see if any new grades have been added. The program then notifies me by sending a text message to my phone. The program is in its beta stage and has lots of sloppy logic and code. anyways i hope someone knows how to keep my focus from running off of msn when I'm trying to type.
And as for the variables and coding. i know i have made it sloppy with unnecessary variables. I'm planning on cleaning that up when i have the time.

Mar 6, 2012I have 3 group boxes on a form. Each group box contains a single Button and several RadioButtons - each RadioButton has an associated TextBox control. Changing RadioButton in a given GroupBox enables or disables the associated TextBox control in that GroupBox. There is also a RichTextBox on the form and the contents of the RichTextBox change depending on which GroupBox contains the active control.
I am trying to use the GroupBox_Enter event to cause the RichTextBox content to be updated. When the user uses a mouse click to move to a new GroupBox the RichTextBox changes as expected (desired) but if the user tabs from the last control in the prior GroupBox to the first control in the new GroupBox it doesn't, it gets stuck one GroupBox behind. The DropDownStyle is set to DropDown so the user can type text in the text field. At program start I want the this control to have focus with the cursor in it & ready to accept text. As it is now the user has to first click on the ComboBox to type in it. Setting its focus doesn't seem to do what I want.

I begin to add data to the dgv, I select in the first row a value in the combobox and go to the second row. In the second row, when the combobox gets the focus, it appears 'V18', also the selected value before. Why? This control will be nested on a form, and I want the on-board timer to track how long each control is active. I am trying to use the focus events of the combobox's to determine if the control is active so the program will know when the timer should be started and stopped. As you can see, there are points in this sub-routine that can cause the focus to shift, as well as fire the text changed event. While this all happens faster than is really noticable, I would like to eliminate the extra cycles if at all possible. As I mentioned in question one, I am adding this control to a form, to be more clear I am adding multiple instances of this control to a single form, and I am trying to use the focus events to determine which of the controls within the form are active; however, when the form itself is no longer the active application, whether it is minimized, behind another application or otherwise, all of the timers stop. I want whichever control was active at the time that the form was deactivated, to continue as if nothing changed.
Make Tab Key Or Enter To Move Focus From A Combobox Control?
Jan 26, 2011I have a combobox on an Excel worksheet that I can tab into, then pick my data (located on another worksheet) after activating the "arrow". But the tab or enter key does not allow me to navigate away from the cell after it is populated. The only action that allows the user to move to another cell is by mouse/click to another cell. I am trying to make navigation through though worksheet as user friendly as possible.I can't seem to find any sample code that will take the focus away from that cell using Tab or Enter.
I have no problem with ListBoxes created using the Data Validation method but I have to create a ComboBox control on the active worksheet in order to return the data chosen (in this case a code that corresponds to a description). If this was a Form I wouldn't have any problem as the properties would allow me to set that up, but this is essentially a spreadsheet I've inherited and the current users do not want to go to a Data Entry Form.

I added the colLocation to dgv."descirption" contains Unicode characters. I can see the comboBox correctly and choose the item.The problem is when the comboBox lost the focus, the value is changed to first item of the comboBox.
Updated:I found out that the ComboBox doesn't change the data when the DisplayMember is in English characters. It changes only when the DisplayMember is in Unicode chracter.

Dec 23, 2011I have a DataGridView with several columns. One column is a TextBox column named "Status". This column can only show one of three values: 'Final', 'Ready', or 'No Reportable'. I want to have some code that would turn the TextBox cell into a ComboBox cell when the user left-clicks on the cell to allow the user to choose one of these three options. When the user clicks elsewhere or the cell loses focus I want the cell to change back to a TextBox cell.
Here is what I have so far, but the code throws an exception indicated below Plus, I don't think the code would remove the combobox when the cell loses focus.

Mouse.Click And Mouse.MouseDown - Delay The Mouse Down Event
Apr 15, 2012I have two custom action listers. One that handles Mouse.Click and one that handles Mouse.MouseDown. My question to you is, can I delay the mouse down event so that it does not intefere with the code of the Mouse.Click event? I have tried adding a timer and waiting x amount then setting a bool value to true, but the code executes to fast and it skips the other code.
