Recently I started doing some VB projects again and I didn't remember the code to scan folders and subfolders for files. Then I did a search and found this code (I think I found it here) but it only scans the directory itself and not the subfolders. Can anyone help me adapt the code to scan all folders/subfolders?[CODE]....

He can view a crystal report fine on his machine, but he can't export the report to pdf, or excel etc. even tho he has the programs installed. He is just missing the export button on the report viewer. On all the other agents pcs, the button is there. And on mine as well.
Any ideas what dll's i need to register on his pc ?
I completed my final project for a .NET course two days ago and just noticed today that all my project files for every project I have on my computer (about a dozen or so) are missing all the project files except for what's in the bin folders. The folder structure it seems hasn't been affected.

View 2 RepliesI recently had to format my PC, So I moved my project files and build files to my External Hard Drive, and continued to work on my project.. I started to receive emails saying that the application is saying "Cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact application vendor for assistance." After clicked view details, I found this:

did not succeed.
The .application file is not in Downloads, its supposed to download it from my website. And if I were to open my project on a computer with it already installed, it won't check for updates - it opens really quick without the "Viewing Application Requirements" window.
I have added reference to few dlls in my VB.net Project. When I check into Visual source safe and get latest version from another machine, VS.net 2008 throws errors.I have to add the references again in that new machine. Is there anyway where I can keep the references in spite of files checked in to VSS?I need to send copy all the files to production server and we don't have VS.net on the production box to add reference and build the application.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to export a report but everytime it runs the code to export the crystal report in the crystalreportviewer I get an error message saying "Missing Parameter Values". I've looked through many sources but havent found a solution. I do know that all parameters are filled in because without the export code, the site runs perfectly fine.

I am making a Visual Basic program that launches Halo CE, and two other programs at the same time. The two other applications load fine but when it tries to launch Halo CE an error windows comes up saying that there is missing files which there is not. I use
"Process.Start("C:Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo Custom Edition/haloce.exe")".
I have tried to copy and paste numerous files into the "Debug" folder from the Halo CE folder but there is one file that is demanded but is simply not on my computer. I would also not want to put programs files in the debug folder because I wish to publish this to "Halo Maps."

In development, it runs fine with the two resource files I have - named multilingual.en-US.resx & multilingual.es-MX.resx accordingly. When I publish it looses these resources for referencing.The files reside in the root directory for the app.

I have had them bring their laptop with the project on it, and it runs, but when I search the folder, I only see the files they sent me. Apparently sometimes files get stored (or moved) elsewhere and their system will track the locations, so their computer can find the files??? Really not sure how or why this is happening.Is there any way to have VB report where all the files in a project are actually located? There are so many files and so many folders in even a simple VB.net project that trying to track these down myself is very frustrating.

View 13 RepliesI have been provided with a series of RDL files and dataset specifications for each RDL report.I have successfully generated the proper data tables for each report specification but have not yet figured out how to successfully use the reportviewer in my application with the provided RDL files.Due to the large number of reports I will be working with I need to hard code the reportviewer instead of using the control in design mode.

I have tried Variables!Claimant.Value (for a variable called Claimant) but I get an error "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference." Problem: Everytime a report is being run it generates a ('.*tmp', '.*rpt') files typically in a temp folder c:windows emp however we can get rid of the *.tmp files by setting a recycle on the application pool but need a way to get rid of the .rpt files.
Found solution: Call Close() and Dispose() on the report object. The way I am doing is crReportDoc.Close() then crReportDoc.Dispose()Actual Problem: If Dispose() is called the report comes up with the following error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'

When i pass the parameter and run the report it works fine as i close the form it closes the form is there any way so that i should be able to close the crystal report viewer and pass the parameter again and should be able to view report again.

I have created an application using vb.net 2008 and for reports Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 but the problem is, when I run the application in another machine away from developing box, I get the Load report failed notice. I don't have any idea on how I should approach this issue. I tried installing the CRRedist2008_x86 and CRRedist2005_x86 but still the problem won't go away.
