View 1 RepliesWhy am I getting that error message? This is the code which it's happening to:
Public Class frmford
Dim LoanAmount, InitialPrice, Make, TradeIn, OriginationFee, DepositAmount, Model, Options, AirConditioningTax, GST, PST, Total, Subtotal, APR, Months, RoofRack, SunRoof, SideAirBags, TintedGlass, RearSpoiler, GPS, PowerLocks, FreightAndPDI,

I tried to Dim those variables as double and it didn't work either.
I'm trying to rename some image files....pretty straight forward it seems. However, I keep getting the message "Procedure call or argument is not valid"[code]...
View 10 RepliesI am trying to add records from an Access Database into another Access Database using DAO recordset.The VB.NET program would add the records until it hits random stop and error says "Object invalid or no longer set". what would cause this? The recordset contains 7 million records, but it only added approx 6000. Next time i run the program, it would add different number of records again.
View 3 RepliesI am passing value via an object property form1 to form2 my class was working before, but I guess when i create the instance of the form2 in form1 my calls in my class no longer work properly.

I updated from VB2010 Express and Win7(x64) from VB2008 Standard and Win7(x86) and have been tweaking a programme and some user controls I have been using for some years. In the last three days only whenever I open the programme and run it, I get the error message box "Object Reference not set to an insatnce of an object"" three or four times. The programme then runs correctly. If I stop and restart the programme, the error message not reappear. If I then edit code and rerun (or save) the programme, the error message reappears. The error messages do not appear if I run the programme from the EXE file pinned to my taskbar
I have been unable to trap the error message to find out on the stack a clue to the line in the programme that is causing the problem. I do not add controls at runtime and all have been added to the designer at design time.
I am developing the map tool application in vb.net where user can create maps. I gave the check boxes for show/hide the layers of map like village boundary(polygon), plot boundary(Polygon), roads(Lines), bore wells(points), dug wells(points), schools(points).
I am using the function RedrawMap for displaying various layers of maps as user checked the check boxes. If user click village boundary map shows the village boundary etc on panel control named "picMap".
The problem i am facing is when user check the village boundary layer map shows the boundary but when user check the next polygon layer i.e. plot boundary layer it gives the error message "5:Object is currently in use elsewhere.".
My code is as follows:
Public Sub RedrawMap(ByVal index As Integer)
Dim f As Font
'Object Style
Dim Size1 As Short

My text box is call txtFat
We have a huge windows application with poor exception handling. The application throw object reference error from lot of places and the system error message is showing to users as it is using message boxes.
I am looking for a simple solution which can be used to replace this message to something user friendly for the entire application
I am getting the error Parser Error Message: The server tag is not well formed. on the code line below:
<asp:HyperLink ID="imgFileType" ImageUrl="images/Icon_Pdf.gif" NavigateUrl='<%#"javascript:ViewFile('erg_", Eval("DocumentName") %>' runat="server"></asp:HyperLink>
I need the url link to be parsed as:
javascript:ViewFile('erg_Invoice_3200_QRG_Restaurant.pdf');
What am I missing in the syntax?

During Loading of form I call connectpaybox to show the list in the combobox, but after that it will result in the error "Operation is not valid due the current state of the object"

View 1 RepliesOk, i am really in need of finding a way to do this via a string to clob instead of using the update query to to do all.

Dim OracleConnection2 As New OracleConnection()
Dim dr2 As OracleDataReader

I know it's possible in asp.net to create a custom error page in a web app, by putting the following line in the web.config: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="frmErrorPage.aspx" />
I have had to do this for my web app, since it is clearly much tidier than letting the program bomb out with it's ugly default error page. My custom error page just has the customer's logo and a brief message saying "Error has occurred. Please return to homepage"The trouble now is that I have no way of knowing what caused the error, when a customer reports it.
Is there a way to make the actual error message appear on this custom error page too?
I dragged and dropped a label control on my web form. But then whe I go to my VB .net code behind file, if I try and set a property on that label control, I am getting a "Declaration Expected" error message for the label I created.Yet if I do try and explicitly declare my label control, the compiler tells me that the label control is already declared.[code]

View 7 RepliesI have program which is used to send emails. In this program I want to design a message body which contains, text, hyper links, images, draw boxes, etc. Rich Text Box object doesn't appeared to be the best object for this case. Can you suggest a good object to design "Body" part of a message?
View 3 RepliesThe Error I get is "Couldnt show any because: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"While on the development machine it works.Both running Win7, I inclluded all sql files as stated on the deployment instruction for datafile and sql-ce dll's from the msdn.The datafile is fine and connection is good, becuase a "cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()" runs without problems.
