I would like to use the windows messagebox with for exampleyes' and 'no' buttons on it, but I want to be free to choose the lanuage on the buttons.I mean 'Ja' and 'Nein' or 'Oui' and 'Non' instead of the systems default language.

If so, could anyone provide some guidance as to how this would typically be done and if there are any special considerations I need to make to ensure that my derived button class is functionally equivalent to the original (excluding the html)?

I have a message box with YesNoCancel button..
Pressing Yes will do some action and close the app - works fine,
Pressing No will do nothing and close the app - (see below),
Pressing Cancel will Do nothing and keep the app open - (see below).
I'm using DialogResult.No for No button and DialogResult.Cancel for cancel button. But pressing either of them triggers DialogResult.Cancel event. Whats the problem?
I have an application that has a timer. Every hour, the application will see what time it is. If it is after 5 P.M., then the application will shut the computer off. (For power saving purposes)I have a messagebox pop up warning the user. I want the user to be able to hit "Cancel" on a dialog box if he/she is still working on the computer and reset the timer to ask again in about an hour. View 9 RepliesIn my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR & nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

View 1 RepliesI have multilingual application that was done in VB2005.We recently had a request to translate the application to Arabic (Egypt), so I have been happily running through all of the forms and changing the layout for Right to Left format.I have 2 forms that are problematic though.On one form, whenever I select Arabic (Egypt), it will automatically switch the selection to Arabic (Saudi Arabia) and try to add an ar-SA resx file.On the other problematic form, if I choose Arabic (Egypt), the IDE will automatically select Chinese (People's Republic of China), then copy the contents of my ar-EG resx file into the zh-CN file, overwriting all of our Chinese translations and layout changes with the Arabic ones.

Some of my DataGridViewCells return the wrong value in their GetClipboardContent method. They are cells in a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn cells, so they use the displayed property, not the value property of the cell. I want it to return the value itself.An initial attempt was simply using

For csv, the base implementation appends a comma if it's not the last cell, for html it adds the correct tags depending on if it's the first/last row/cell in the table/table row, etc. I consider this format-specific, not cell-value specific.
So how could I replace the value that ends up in the clipboard without re-implementing all those format-specific aspects? That would result in quite some code for functionality that already exists in the base class, wouldn't it?

I have a main class that has a Sub procedure with no implementation. Any derived class should override and implement this procedure, so I used MustOverride in the base class.
Now, any time this procedure is called, I need to set a specific Boolean variable to True at the beginning of the procedure and set it to False at the end.
Is there a way to avoid writing these two lines of code in procedure implementation of every single derived class? Can I set this value to True in the base class, then run procedure in the derived class and then set the value back in the base class?
I am setting my viewmodel as datacontext in my xaml but I override it to my view to make few functions work however to achieve the visibility on some grids and I have a property in my VM can I override my datacontext back to my VM?
