I have control over both the source nodes and the parsing code... So I am just being too lazy with my XmlNode creation? Regardless is there any benefit to using XmlConvert v.s. using integer.parse (or .tryparse)?
I need to get a list of the item id attribute in a soap packaged XML file, in the example below ref-2 ref-3, but I'm having a problem finding examples that work and not even sure where my attempt at a linq to xml statement is failing. Are there any good examples of parsing a XMLDocument in a SOAP envelope or am I just making this way harder than it needs to be.
I have looking for a tutorial or class that demonstrates more than a trivial example of saving a windows position on closing. The ones I have found don't seem to work on all systems because of:
1. Multiple monitors. (and resolution between those monitors)
2. Toolbar size and position (toolbar is only on the primary monitor, well sometimes)
3. Sometimes the programs dont open on the right monitor they were closed on.
Is there an extensive class or tutorial on all the stuff a programmer needs to get right to have a window size and position persisted between executions?
I'm new at JSON and i am currently struggling with a problem parsing JSON data in a list of objects. The data that i am trying to parse is generated by the facebook graph api, and looks like this :
I know that this is not an array, because it is missing '[' and ']'. But when i replace the '{' and '}' with '[' and ']' i'm getting an error because of an invlaid matrix.
on my laptop most objects of a form are suddenly in the incorrect position but ok on all other computers.could this be a corrupted .exe? this is not happening on any other computers(all are Win 7)the laptop is at another location so i cannot try replacing the .exe until i go there next week.
I am trying to reposition and resize an application I have launched. The hwnd is extracted from the process that is returned from the application start. The call to the Windows API MoveWindow() call moves the window to the top of my screen and collapses it to the height of the title bar.
The x position appears to be correct and the width appears to be correct, but the y position and the height are not correct. I may have the wrong signature (but I don't think so) or there is something I don't understand about the call.[code...]
after i run the program, the form pop up showing no problem.however, when i click on the maximize button on the top right of the form, the form enlarge and fill the screen. but the components will not move accordingly.
I need to program an application which acts like a passwordfiller.
Describtion: When i open up internet explorer a popup comes up requesting my username and password and i need a way to set my application near the popup and fill it in.
Here is what i need:
- Get Window hwnd (using find window api) *Ok - Get Window state *Ok - Get window Position *Help - Get Window Length and Width *Help - Focus on the window *Help - Sendkeys *Ok
I set the form's size with Me.Size = New System.Drawing.Size(500, 500). I display the mouse cursor's position when the event Form1_MouseMove fires. At the bottom right corner of the form, I read the coordinates 483,460 (instead of 500,500) I precise that the upper left corner has the coordinates 0,0.I also notice that the size of a control differs from the form's size. for example if Picbox1.height = Form1.height, then the Picbox will be bigger than the displayed Form1.
The Form Designer in the IDE is no longer working properly. When I create a new project, the Form Designer will work, but after I save it and close the IDE and reopen the next day the Form Designer no longer shows the form and instead says "To prevent possible data loss before loading the designer, the following errors must be resolved: An Error occurred while parsing EntityName.Line 2, position 62" If I click ignore and continue, then it just displays a blank form with no controls. The problem appears to have started after I unistalled and reinstalled VB2008 Express.
I have a DataGridView in one of my form which at a certain point I resize an change it's position. I would like to be able to restore it to the designer's default position at runtime. I know I could save it before changing and then restoring it later, but I feel like there surely is a way in .NET to just restore a control position to it's default.
No matter what I've done, I can't make my application window the size and position saved in the registry. Below is the code at the end of my Form1_Load: [code]
I designed a form which contains about 50 objects all kinds including tableadapters, buttions, grids, tabs. What is the best way to optimize the loading with less time consuming. I cannot split objects in on different form as all the objects has to appear on screen as a requirement.
But my primary question here is, i designed this form with all these objects on a 15" monitor which fitted 100% on the screen. Now i am using 17" monitor when i open this form on run time, all the objects are appearing as designed but theres a 30% form area which is left blank. How can i make the form objects resize automatically on run time itself to fit on different size of monitor with no area left blank.
I have a normal textbox which multiline property is set to true and now I need the text written in the textbox should have a large font size.So is it possible with the normal textbox.[code]...
I would like to be able to parse vb.net code files, so I can examine the collection of Subs, Functions (and their contents, including comments), private variables, etc. I can be open the actual source code files. So for example, if I have:
I'm creating a vb.net winforms application that will take in user given strings, parse them, and print out labels with variable information. The given string will be used in all the labels, but the variable part of the string will change with each label.
My question is: is it better to parse the strings one time, then store those values in arrays, or to parse the string each time a label is printed? Which will perform better? Which is better practice? What is the proper way to test something like this?
I've reached a point where it's time to learn how to Read/Write XML files properly and I'm really confused to how we're supposed to do this. I've been reading up on using the XmlDocument, but all I'm finding is how to use it to read xml files. Right now I need to Write them, later I'll code the reading of them.
The data for the XML file comes from a couple of tables in a database too, I've got a Master/Child table (actually there's 5 child tables). I've got the data coming into DataTables and I've got the loops set up already, I'm just stuck to how do I take the Master table's row and store that data as an XmlNode then loop each of the 5 child DataTable's and add each row as a child node to the master's node.
and other non-visible characters such as whitespace in XmlDocument?I tried PreserveWhiteSpace = False and IgnoreWhiteSpace = True for XmlReaderSettings, but those didn't work.
I am using the following code to populate data in Textbox1:

I have few functions assigned in TextBox1_TextChanged event. The problem i am facing is this event is fired twice, once after the Fill command and another after the Position command whereas i want the event to fire only once after the Position command. What should i do?
Now all went well about from using the structure correctly. The working of the structure was perfect. How ever i missed Two important issues. The structure needed a fixed size of 10 items (9 in programming terms starting from 0) And also out of the 5 items allowed to be chosen as one of the member types for the structure a limit of 5 items of that particular type.
and I need to pick node from Id 25 to id 75. It is a portion of XML. Original XML is very long. How to do it without XPath? Dim nodeList As XmlNodeList = xmlDoc.SelectNodes("//Node[@id >" & 25 & " and @id <" & 75 & "]") Dim sb As StringBuilder = New StringBuilder For Each childNode As XmlNode In nodeList sb.Append(childNode.InnerText) Next but it is not working ...
