on my laptop most objects of a form are suddenly in the incorrect position but ok on all other computers.could this be a corrupted .exe? this is not happening on any other computers(all are Win 7)the laptop is at another location so i cannot try replacing the .exe until i go there next week.

Here is my problem: I developed one application in VB.Net in VS 2008 Express Edition on MS Vista. I published the application and created the installation setup. Now when I install this application on any Vista machine, it runs without any problems, but if I install it on an XP machine, the installation is clean, but when I launch the application, it ends abruptly without any warnings/error just after the splash screen.
Then to investigate further what I did was that I copied the source project from my VS 2008 Express Edition on Vista to an XP machine having full (VS 2008 Team System) version , and when I try to compile it there (XP/VS2008 Full), I get one error in one of the forms resx file. Incidently this is the same form that gets loaded after the splash screen. So I see there is some correlation between my application ending just after the splash screen and failing to compile the main form of the application. The error that I get reads like: "Invalid resx file. The parameter is incorrect Line 1374, position 5."
i just want to make a program with first form to enter the serial if correct just continue to form2 if incorrect just a popup say like "Serial Incorrect" how i can make it ?

I have control over both the source nodes and the parsing code... So I am just being too lazy with my XmlNode creation? Regardless is there any benefit to using XmlConvert v.s. using integer.parse (or .tryparse)?

well i successfully docked a perpixel alpha form with the main form(form1). but the perpixel alpha form always appears at the top left corner of the screen and when i move the main form the form(perpixel alpha form) inside it dosen't move it stays at the top left corner. I am using vb.net 2008. I have a MDI form with a menu strip added. From different menu's i calling related Exe's and opening in side the MDI form. In this case setting of MDIparent properties to the child form (Exe) in not possible. In my Exe i am reading my MDI windows handle and using the setparent API function. In this case the exe is opening inside the MDI below the titile bar but it is hiding the menu strip. (In vb6 it is working fine - Means the exe opens below the menu strip). Is their any way opening the exe below the menustrip or toolstrip.

I am using VB2008 Express. After making changes to the position of controls on the form, the controls position reverts to the original position when the program is rebuilt and run. At first, there is no problem, but after 30 minutes working with the program, the problem begins. I am careful to keep all the files together. I am using XP Professional and .net 3.5

However the problem is that I am having problems displaying the form at my cursor position. I have a mdi chaild form in my app and when I right click I want to display my custom contextmenu form at the point where I right click in the mdichild form. View 3 RepliesI have this code working fine , it takes pictures of the correct size and correct file name , however , all the pictures it takes are in the top left corner of the screen , rather than where i have the form to. FYI the picture box in the middle has no picture in it , and is transparent , i want to save a bitmap of the contents of the picturebox ( a user defined size of the screen). The picture box and button are docked so that the form scales properly when being resized.

I know that you can use this code for the position.x of the mouse:
System.Windows.Forms.Cursor.Position.X
but how will i detect the position.x of the mouse inside the form? i mean counting 0,0 from the edge of the form not the screen...
