I have created a web service and I am trying to figure out how to take the URL from a WebBrowserControl in windows form and POST it to the web service.The web service will then take that url and create an image which will be turned into a pdf.

I'm writing a windows service in VB.Net and set the service process installer's "Account" property set to "User". So when I tried to install the utility using INSTALLUTIL.EXE it is prompting to enter the user id and password. I'm using the following code to create a bitmap from a webbrowsercontrol that is located just off-screen (not visible to user, but control is "visible") Does the CopyFromScreen method work for something that is not ACTUALLY displayed on the screen?
I checked the values of p.X and p.Y at runtime and they are correct, but my "img" does not reflect the portion of the "Screen" i'm trying to capture.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, or if CopyFromScreen will still work if my control is outside of the bounds of the primaryscreen.

When i run my app, it throws the errro below. if i press "yes" everything works fine, if i put "supress errors" option in the webbrowsercontrol, no errors but dosent work.[code]...
Program was working fine, now all of a sudden it decides it does not want to navigate for me...It doesn't appear that either of my DocumentComplete or DownloadComplete Events are being fired when navigating to a very minimal web page.I even tried deleting the code blocks, and "re-adding" them in the IDE. no dice.This is pretty much the most important part of the whole program. arggh.what could be causing this? View 7 RepliesI coded a very small website bot in C# using the default WebBrowser control. Actually almost everything is working the way it is supposed to work, yet I seem to have problems with the very last step of my automation.
The website was built using several iframes. This isn't much of a big deal as I simply access those frames and their elements using
webBrowser1.Document.Window.Frames[0].Document.GetElementById("element").InvokeMember("click");
This however does not work when the source of the IFRAME is being hosted on a different domain than the actual website. As I searched the internet for an answer to my problem I stumbled across an MSDN article mentioning this specific problem and they were referring to safety measures against cross site scripting which might be the reason for this error.
I couldn't really find a way of disabling this feature so I moved on and decided to recode everything to work with geckofx-12 instead of the default (IE based) web browser control, yet I ran into similar issues...
My question is: Is there any way I can bypass this annoying behaviour? I don't really care about security concerns or on whether geckofx or the default web browser control is being used, I would just like to programmatically access the elements of a site which is being hosted on a different domain without running into an UnauthorizedAccessException.

i have a Windows service that is hosting a WCF service through net.tcp and this is working great. I have also created a WCF service application. I am trying to add the net.tcp service reference to the service application. Then I add it to the GAC that goes ok but if I try to RegAsm the WCF service application to allow it to be called from Server.CreateObject I get the error:

View 3 RepliesI am writing a Windows Form program to automatically download and store generated PDF reports from a web site using the WebBrowser Control. The web site uses Ajax to link an icon back to the source aspx file which then returns a PDF file.
The problem I have is that the WebBrowser control brings up the File Save As dialog box when the PDF file is returned and I can find no way of handling this to cature and save the returned file. I have found other examples of how to manage this using the Navagating event to validate the extension of the file that is being accessed (e.g. [URL] and, if not an HTM, file then use the HTTP Web control to directly download the file. Unfortunately this will not work as the call references a .aspx page.
Ive tried a few methods and most throw the "minimum value is out of bounds error" so i tried this method, but it seems, i cant get it to work right, says me.pageloadProgress and lastMaxiumProgess is invalid.

View 4 RepliesThis is a bit of unusual problem that I'm experiencing, but recently one of the users of a production application started reporting errors in the system. These were traced to a 503 Service Unavailable error when making a call to a web service used by the application.
Now here's the odd part, only the one user is affected by this issue. Other users of the application have not reported any errors. When the user logged on to a different machine that worked for another user, they still received the error.

In the past I had the indexing service installed on a Windows Server 2003 and used it to index files for my website. I did this by executing an OleDbCommand with a query and a connection string.How do I accomplish the same thing with the new "Windows Search Service" (Windows Server 2008) by using VB.NET? Does this work the same way so that I only need to change the Provider name which has been "MSIDXS.1" up to now? Case true, what is the new Provider name?

View 1 RepliesI have a WebBrowserControl on my main form and it auto navigates and all that just fine! What I would like to do is not allow the user to click anywhere within the WebBrowserControl while the program is running. Reason for this is that the browser self-navigates to a view of cameras and this shows scrollbars. My program then takes screenshots of specific coordinates on the screen so I do not want the user to use the scrollbars or highlight or do ANYTHING to the page once the program starts. I would like to change the cursor icon to like a red X or something similar to indicate no user functionality.
View 2 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio 2010 and .NET3.5. I've created a WCF service application. I'm including two DLLs that contain the types I'm returning. The first method I wrote works both in WCF Test Client and also in a console application I created to test. When I move on to the next method that returns a generic list of a type. It works great in WCF Test Client, but when I update the service reference it acts as if the service is unavailable. All my objects say can't find reference, and I can no longer see it in the object browser. It's like it just disappears. I can still see it in the Service Reference folder. If I go back to the WCF app and comment out the contract and implementation of that one method it work again. I created a local class very similar to the class I'm using from the dll, and the it works. Is there something I'm missing here? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Can you have multiple instances of the same Service class (that bind to different addresses or ports), like this?

Or will that cause problems? Should we use two different classes instead?
how to deploy a service made in VB.net. Most of the websites just say use installutil.exe this is fine while your testing your service on your local machine whit vs2010 on it. I am in the final stage now of my service like 99% is done and my last % is how to get my service installed on the server i need it on. I can't publish because this wont work with a VB.net Service Project. So all i want is a clean and easy Tutorial or Someone who can explain me how to do this without the need to install VS2010 on the server to get install-util.
View 4 RepliesWe have a server with multiple services written in .Net 1.1 and 3.5 running on a Win 2003 server. Everything runs fine, but when we stop a certain service, an unrelated service stops. I have checked and neither has any dependencies. The service we stop is in 3.5, and the unrelated service that incorrectly stops is in 1.1. We get no error messages, nor event log errors, so we are baffled.Does anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this?
