Oct 1, 2011I have multiple sub's that i'd like to group together, however all of the groups need to be in the same class. They all work together, but it would help me organize the code and make it less confusing if I could group some of the different subs together for outlining purposes. Is there a way to do this? I tried to find answers online, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Mar 20, 2012We have an item cull that retrieves items and their appropriate data from one server. Their Primary Keys need to be INNER JOINed with another table. However, the second table is on another server. We can retrieve that data using a separate select statement and accompanying VB objects.
How would one go about this programmatically in VB? Is a loop the best practice available? Although we are in a Microsoft Ecosystem, Server Linking is not possible.
C# - Perform Code Indirection?
Apr 4, 2012I remember with InterSystems Cache code, you can use indirection to take a string and turn that into real executable code by preceding the string variable with "@". Can this be done in C#.NET or VB.NET code? So I'd like to have a method that would take an arguments array of strings (with one or multiple lines of code), and run that code, assuming it doesn't throw an exception of course. Where am I going with this? I'm trying to write a compiler within .NET code.

There is "ReportDate" property (Date type) in BasicContact, RadioButtonList "rdl_Priority" (with integer value from "prio_id" field) in BasicDetail and "CheckDate" property in ActionTime. The ReportDate value is derived from txt_ReportDate and txt_ReportTime and CheckDate value is derived from txt_CheckDate and txt_CheckTime.

Sep 3, 2008I'm writing a form that get some informations from a database to manage the User Access Level.The way i do that is to Fill a Dataset by using a DataAdapter and the Bind some controls to the Dataset.The controls i binding are a ListBox, a Textbox, and five Checkboxes.All are fine with this controls. I can delete values and update values, i can choose a record from my ListBox and the values of this record to be desplayed on the othrer binded controls and so on.

SQL - Store Enums At Database Level Or In Application Logic?

Etc..
So, this I would like to implement somehow as an enum. But what's the best way, implement it in the database creating tables for it or in the application logic in an CommonEnums codebehind file etc?
Top Level SQL Table Row - Save The Top Level Automatically?
Mar 18, 2011I have created a simple program which uses a two tier structure of SQL Tables.At the top level, one record holds the date of the activities and linked to it using its primary key as a foreign key, three subordinate tables hold time stamped records.The issue I have been unable to solve is that before adding any of the lower level records for a given date, a newly added top level record must be saved to the database.Doing this manually is simple - but can I rely on my users to remember to do this before they start plugging in the lower level data?I thought not, so I am looking to save the top level automatically.I've failed miserably but I refuse to believe that it's not possible.

Feb 12, 2011I have multiple level of For Each and in each level, i have a Linq that is the 'In' criteria as in:

It will go inside each for (because the value is not nothing), however, it will only loop (next) in the very inner 'For Each t In tFor'. After it is finish inner loops, the outer Fors' or Next will not execute... even thought there are more than one values in that 'In'... like 'sFor' or 'fFor'. i've noticed while debuging, while break at the for (for example 'sFor', before stepping in), i get the error message:
"Enumeration yielded no results" when i expand the result for that variable and it will not step into it. but if i do not expand the result, it will step in. It seem that some how, once an element is accessed for that 'In' collection, it breaks (meaning does not loop for the rest of the elements) the next for that collection is this a bug or am i missing something in Linq? BTW: i believe it has something to do with the SqlDataReader in the Linq. I'm working with IAsyncResult.

I would like to translate this code to use a repeater or listview and dynamically retrieve my data, but I cannot seem to find a way to group my data correctly.I know the ListView can group by a certain amount of items, but I have not found a way to do it with this scenario.The shopping cart works by having a ul list of items, followed by their details in the div below. This process starts again by getting three more ul items, followed by three more details. How could I do this using a ListView or repeater? I have not found a way to repeat both of these sets of data I need in a group of three.[code]

Feb 24, 2010I am trying to group various controls (of the same type, e.g., labels together, buttons together, etc.) on a form using a tag or a name of some sort so I can identify all those that belong to tag 'A' and those in tag 'B'. In the end I will have on a form a number of labels grouped as tag 'A' and some labels as tag 'B' so I can change their visible properties on/off.
