Populating A List Box With Query Results?

I am working on making a Windows based application within Visual Basic 2008 Express that could potentially be used for a music school as a project. This application is connected and bound to a Microsoft Access database. Within this application I have a form for adding a new appointment reservation. This form has a combo box that the user can select the lesson type (eg. "I want a piano lesson"). Upon being changed, a list box would be populated with the names of all instructors that have that selection as either their primary or secondary talent.So, my database is bound, the query is written (correctly...i hope), and I don't know how to 1) select the table column that I want displayed in the list box and 2) actually display the query results within the list box. I am trying to create a CLR SQL Stored procedure that uses a query and adds the results to a list in VB.NET. Through debugging I determined that my add statement for the reader into the List is somehow converting my data types and throwing an error when I attempt to execute the compiled Stored Procedure.The columns I am querying are Integers

how to go about populating some text boxes with results from calculations. To be more specific, I'm trying to do some trig to calculate various parts of a ci0rcle and will be populating any two of the text boxes then click on a button to get the missing values. I was thinking along the lines of a loop until all values have been calculated.

Heres my issue, I am retrieving data from xml and populating a DataSet with the results into multiple DataTables but i have an issue where an item is repeated in my input data and it is causing it to exception because of the constraints imposed between these tables. how can i determine if a row exists prior to adding the DataRow and thus not include it in my DataTable?

If I can generate a list of random integer with a click of the button and put the results in a list box using VB.Net but how do I randomly change several integer number generated by button 1 by clicking button 2? I have a textbox control with a button then underneath of it a have a checkboxlist control and another button. Basically what I want to do is when a User enters something on the textbox and then press the Add button the text they enter gets added to the checkbox list. This I was able to do with no problems, The problems comes when I try to remove the selected Items on the checkbox list. I have the following code.

I have multiple drop down lists on a page. They all contain list of countries. So in the background I am getting countries from database and caching them. I would like to populate those drop down lists from another thread. I am also using AJAX controls so I wanted that it all happens at the same time. And also after a user selects a country I want that towns from that country show to the user, and I want that getting towns happens also in another thread so that user can fill other controls while the list is not yet loaded.
I have read somewhere that I should give Page as a parameter to that thread and then find that drop down lists and populate them. But that is not working.

If this is in the wrong section, I have a program that queries a database and puts the info in a specific format in a txt file. Now my problem comes w/ how to format the date.
Should I format the date in the SQL query OR is there a way to take the result from the query and format sometime before it is writen to the txt file? I'm not exactly sure how to do either. Would I need a subquery to get the desired date format?

I'm trying to execute a SQL query and pull the results into a text file. However, I'm getting an error in the bolded part. I think probably the biggest help would be an explaination of what the code in bold is actually doing. I pulled this from a book but don't think I completely understand. To me it seems like its saying that for each row in table 'extract'. Extract it, and write it?? But it doesn't seem to work that way. When it gets to that part, the error I get says that the row doesn't exist in the table

I am building a form that will eventually list a group of functions on the left. If you drag a function onto the form, it will create a listbox and a label at the loction you dropped it to. If you drag a function into a listbox, it will add that function as a listbox item. I have this working kind of. The problem is that once I create a new listbox, I am no longer able to add items to the previous ones. Here is my code:

I have a query using LINQ-to-SQL. It queries an underlying database table Rooms. It uses Where conditions to narrow down the results, namely:
Gender.Current Occupancy < Max Occupancy Available Flag is Checked I know this should return results but it keeps returning an empty set.Code is below

UPDATE: I've verified that the issue is with the statement where sh.is_available = 1, which doesn't make sense since this is a bit field.

Why would a VB/ASPX page not return results for a query which runs fine with other Oracle clients? (Same username) The following code should first output the query and then execute it outputting a single exclamation point per record. However, it outputs the query (as it should), but does not return any rows (nor error). If I copy the query to SQL Plus (or other editor) as the same user, the query returns results.
Why might my code not output any results?

I have a basic question about using a database with Visual Basic.I'm using a OleDb connection. I have dragged and dropped editboxes from the DataDource view. This automatically places the table navigation- bar on the form. When I run it this works fine.However I want to be able to search within the table, with an SQL statement.How can I connect the results from the SQL query to the navigation bar,such that the editboxes automatically take the values of the record without having to assign every textbox manually?
