Heres my issue, I am retrieving data from xml and populating a DataSet with the results into multiple DataTables but i have an issue where an item is repeated in my input data and it is causing it to exception because of the constraints imposed between these tables. how can i determine if a row exists prior to adding the DataRow and thus not include it in my DataTable?

I have been searching for quite a while about joining multiple datatables via LINQ to dataset (When i say multiple, i don't mean just 2!!!), and it seems there aren't lot of examples in the net. I have seen examples of joining two datatables, done that, no problem there. Now i want to join three datatables. And there's nothing i can find out there.For example i have a 3 datatables:
PERSON (columns: person_id, name, gender_code, ethnic_code)
GENDER (columns: gender_code, gender_description)
ETHNICITY (cols: ethnic_code, ethnic_description)

I have a question regarding the dataset usage in Reporting Services. I have a stored procedure which returns multiple select statements (result tables), and I created a Dataset in Reporting Services 2005 with this stored procedure. The problem is that I can not reference the second or third result table, and I can only use the first select statement fields. Is this the limitation on Reporting Services Dataset or is there a way to use multiple table results in one dataset?

The other grid has the users who have garment issued to them. the style number is in both grids. I need to loop through the users grid and say if the contract number is 1 from the first grid then the contract date on the second grid will be todays date + 365 days (year contract) I have looked at using a stored procedure and also a for each command but I am just getting stuck with it all. Once we do so, we will hit those fields with update queries, but right now, my group just needs a listing of the affected tables There are over 250 tables to search, is there a way to iterate through the tables?
I imagine I could search the datatables once I get them, so that part isn't a problem. I just need to know how to set up some code to peek in, record what needs to be changed, close it and move on to the next table.

Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition.I have a have a DataSet, created from (part of a) Access database. I have tow tables in it (say A and B). When I change something in table A, I need to get data from table B to complete table A.My approach was to use the RowChanged event inside a (Partial) Class of table A. For that to work however table B needs to be shared. (I don't like to refer to an instance.) I got it to work by changing the DataSets designer code, but don't want to do it all over again when the code is regenerated for some reason. So: would there be any way to have these tables shared by default?

So now, my combobox on form load will show the list of dates in the database to allow the user to search base on the date itself by clicking on the selected date. So when the user clicks on the particular date say 13/04/1987, people in the database whose birthday is 13/04/1987 will be shown on the listbox.Meaning to say if i have 3 entries whose dates are the same 13/04/1987, 3 entries will appear. If there is only two entry, then two results will be shown.

I am working on making a Windows based application within Visual Basic 2008 Express that could potentially be used for a music school as a project. This application is connected and bound to a Microsoft Access database. Within this application I have a form for adding a new appointment reservation. This form has a combo box that the user can select the lesson type (eg. "I want a piano lesson"). Upon being changed, a list box would be populated with the names of all instructors that have that selection as either their primary or secondary talent.So, my database is bound, the query is written (correctly...i hope), and I don't know how to 1) select the table column that I want displayed in the list box and 2) actually display the query results within the list box. I have data entries in my database that have a common field. For example:
account_id type user_id
1 new 1
2 old 3
3 new 1
4 old 1
I am using a query like this(mysql): SELECT account_id, type, user_id FROM table WHERE user_id = 1
This is just all theoretical. The problem that I am having with this is it is only returning the first result in this case account_id 1. How can I get it to find all the results with the user_id 1 because in the way I am thinking that it is failing is that it is finding only the first result and then ending?

But in this case, I needed to add a new DataTable (newDT) using the Add New Table Adapter control(?) on the toolbox. newTable is derived by JOINing three different existing tables (or, dataTable) in my DataSet designer. The query works fine and returns all the data as expected. Trouble, if I try to display the rows of the newDT on textboxes, I get a NULLREFERENCE Exception.

Every table I have has an 'UpdatedBy' field which lists the user who last made an update to the record. I need a way of searching every datatable for that username and returning the count of the rows where the LastUpdated field is equal to a parameterized username. How can this be accomplished without writing a seperate query for each datatable that does the same thing and running each query one at a time? I'm not sure if this can accomplished somehow in the dataset itself or if a SQL Function could do this.
