How To Handle Retrieving Data From Multiple Tables

I am new to VB and I have a database that has three related tables. These tables show information about computer engineers.
table one is engineers details
table two is engineers allocated
table three is jobs
My form needs to have buttons where a user can obtain information
View details of all Engineers
View Names of all the Engineers working on a specified job.
Add a new engineer
I have set up the connection to the data base using the wizards and also made the dataset. How to handle retrieving the data from multiple tables.

i've a form which displays data from multiple tables of the same employee(personal details, salary details, etc...) and have a common field 'Empnumber'I want to retrieve data from all of them to be displayed in the form. Heres my issue, I am retrieving data from xml and populating a DataSet with the results into multiple DataTables but i have an issue where an item is repeated in my input data and it is causing it to exception because of the constraints imposed between these tables. how can i determine if a row exists prior to adding the DataRow and thus not include it in my DataTable?

i wanted to add data from a single form in vb to two tables in access but an error appears saying that the field customer_ID down to Contact_Number doesnt belong to the table record, though it really doesnt belong to that table.. but i already indicated the table for the customer_ID down to Contact_Number, which is Customer, in my sql statement...

if it affects the run time of a program if I were to have multiple data tables as opposed to one data table with all my data in it? I am trying to minimize datagrids and just use code to access table data, in hopes that it will speed up my program. But I am ignorant if multiple tables vs 1 main table will make a difference because there will still be the same amount of overall data present in my program one way or the other....?

I am used to creating a data set with data from one table, for instance:

Now I am needing to add a second table. For instance, my second table "EQUIPMENT" has a field called "DESCRIPTION" that I would like to add to my dataset. The "WORKORDER" table has a field called "EQNUM" which is what the "EQUIPMENT" table uses as the primary key. how to combine these into one dataset?

how to display data coming from different tables in access in a form?...the case is this:
3 tables in access:
AddBook(tablename) - ISBN(primary key), Book_Title, Author
Student(tablename) - Student_ID(primary key), Student_Name, Course, Year
Transact(tablename) - Transaction_No(primary key), ISBN(foreign key), Student_ID(foreign), Date_Borrowed
i think you can already picture it out... so what i want is to display data from Transact table and also display the data from Student and AddBook table base on the value of the foreign keys in Transact table....

I am combining data from multiple tables into one table for a presentation software. I am doing a select statement and running a loop. Inside that loop I have multiple selects and I build a datatable an enter the data into the main table. There is a ton of records and it takes forever.

I have looked at the answers in the forum and some seem dated. I an an old vb2 person and need to move up. I understand sql very well and use complex queries. First test project and trying to add multiple tables to a data grid (Only Form in project).I used the Data wizard to add the Access data base and worked by way through to near the end. The query works in the wizard and returns the correct rows. The error message is "The solution returned by the new query differs from the base query."
During the creation process I selected all the tables. Reading some of the old anwsers I get the inpression that VB 2010 does not handle multiple tables in a datagrid (forum items go back to version 2008).

I am using the Win32API function EnumWindows to populate a listview with the window text, handle. In this listview I would also like to populate the SmallImageList from an ImageList control of the window's small icon attribute.Now, I have the window handle for each, and I understand their is a number of ways to go about this. I have tried using SendMessage, sending the WM_GETICON value for ICON_SMALL...but that always returns zero.I've read something too about populating a WindowClass structure to get an icon for a particular window.

I have a vb.net web application and when a particular function runs , i get data timeouts in the rest of the application..(ie..row not found errors or column does not belong to table but it does) The function is adding multiple rows in multiple tables in the database and is running in a for loop. It seems to be all SQL related but I am not seeing anything in the error logs in SQL or in the application Right now I am assuming it is memory related where to start note..the for loop will be replaced with a bulk insert but right now I jest need to resolve the issue of the timeouts

I am using VS2008 and SQLite. I have created a database and several tables and am attempting to populate the tables with data from arrays.
The following code (example) works fine but stops after it inserts 30 to 50 records. I am running the VB code in debug mode and when it stops, I press pause to see where it is. It stops on "SQLcommand.ExecuteNonQuery()" and when I press continue (F5) it will insert another 30 to 50 records.
I do not get an error message. Is this a timeout issue? How do I keep the loop running to the end of the array?

Finally got to the point of having a work webservice using php and nusoap. I can retrieve values and send. Now what I want to do retrieve multiple values into a data grid, I think. What I want to do is retrieve various messages specific to that user. At the moment I retrieve values individually but as there may be more than one result I assume the datagrid may be the way forward. Now the question is how can I retrieve this information. Currently my data returns in the following format.

I have multiple textboxes which I want them to perform the same thing upon clicking them. By default I can use the handles textbox1.click for 1 single textbox but I am not sure how to do handle multiples of them. Of course I can write a handler for every single textbox but I have about 50.

One of my clients wants a set up multiple dropdown lists as a set of outbound links (yes, I cringed too, but he does have his reasons. there are 3 dropdowns, each one pertaining to its own group of links. When each dropdown has its SelectedIndexChanged, it then redirects based on the choice made. However, lets say I make a choice in the second dropdown. It goes to the proper link. If I then choose a link in the first dropdown, it goes to the proper link. Then if I select a link in the third dropdown, it will go to the link specified in the choice I made in the FIRST dropdown.
How can I code it so that it will always select the most recent selection?
