Position Of Controls On Different Computers?

I have a form with a tab control. Above it, there are lables, combo boxes and text boxes. On the development machine, it works fine but on other machines, where resolution is different, the position of the controls is changed. Somewhere combo box overlaps the tab control, somewhere text boxes and lables are not aligned with each other.
How to set it so that my application maintains the shape no matter what resolution it is.
I tried AutoScaleMode to dpi, inherit etc. but nothing worked.

I am looking for away to include a power point slide show inside a form in vb.net 2005. Office 2007 will be installe on all of the client machines which run the program. I have found ways to launch and control a power point slide show in an exteral window, but no way to attcah it and place it on the form window.

I am using VB2008 Express. After making changes to the position of controls on the form, the controls position reverts to the original position when the program is rebuilt and run. At first, there is no problem, but after 30 minutes working with the program, the problem begins. I am careful to keep all the files together. I am using XP Professional and .net 3.5

I'm writing a VB.Net WinForms application that has multiple data girds on any given form. On one such form, the data grids are loaded into split containers which in turn are located on a tab control. The load method for each data grid is threaded so that an animated "Loading" form can be shown. I would like to position the new loading form (which is smaller than the grid) on top of, and preferably in the center of, the grid that is loading. Whats the easiest way to find the grids location within the main form so that I can adjust the loading forms location?

I am using the Tabcontrol with autoscroll = True feature, when i make hidden controls visible on the tab there position is out of place, one work around for this is to set the scroll position to 0,0 by doing this...

I developed a VB Winforms application in VS2010 Pro on my Win7 x64 desktop computer. I also have VS2010 loaded on my Win7 x64 laptop and when I open the same solution the application's form controls are shifted out of alignment and appear slightly stretched horizontally. The VS IDE settings are identical on both computers. Any idea why the solution looks perfect in the IDE when on my desktop, but when opened in the IDE on my laptop, all the controls shift out of alignment horizontally

I've got a set of controls in a line inside"FollowTableLayoutPanel1", contained within "TableLayoutPanel2".I have them resizing according to the position of the mouse cursor; the closer the mouse cursor is to the vertical centre of the control, the larger the control is. Because FollowTableLayoutPanel1 has its anchor property set to "Top", it recentres itself in TableLayoutPanel2.It is possible for the recentring of FollowTableLayoutPanel1 to move a control one pixel further away from the mouse pointer, which causes the control to shrink, which causes FollowTableLayoutPanel1 to recentre, placing the control closer to the mouse pointer, which causes the control to grow,which causes FollowTableLayoutPanel1 to recentre, which moves the control further away from the mouse cursor, etc., etc., etc.The end result is that the whole setup judders and wobbles, constantly resizing.Full example code is provided below,and can be pasted directly into Form1 of a new project. Positioning the mouse cursor to correctly show the problem is left as an exercise for the reader :

I have looking for a tutorial or class that demonstrates more than a trivial example of saving a windows position on closing. The ones I have found don't seem to work on all systems because of:
1. Multiple monitors. (and resolution between those monitors)
2. Toolbar size and position (toolbar is only on the primary monitor, well sometimes)
3. Sometimes the programs dont open on the right monitor they were closed on.
Is there an extensive class or tutorial on all the stuff a programmer needs to get right to have a window size and position persisted between executions?

I also have a function that returns ALL tiles on the map and they're X, Y position. How could I find out which one is closest to the position I specify? I can't figure out how to go about it. how to implement it with this. Heres a MADE UP example if what I'm trying to do:

Now, I can already do the stuff above, but what I need to make is something like this:

I have two forms: Main and Options.Main can be moved around the screen (like a normal window).When the user clicks a button, the Options form opens up and the Main form HIDES.How do I set the Options form to open in the exact place that the Main form was last on the screen (to give it the effect the MAIN form never went into hidding)I was thinking to set Option form's StartPosition to Main's current position, but I don't know the syntax for that or if it's even something you can do.

Part of an application that I'm building searches the network that the current computer is connected to and returns a list of the IP & MAC addresses and the hostname. It is based largely on the post by richard__deeming at [URL] At the moment, it will only get the information about computers that are in the same workgroup, but I have several computers that need to be shown, that are joined to a domain rather than the workgroup. I have alignment issues with my application's printout. It isn't same in all computers, or printers. I want to use the whole A4 page in my app without any margin or other spaces. So I set all margins to 0.If I set OriginAtMargins to false, margins are still active for the page, or setting them to 0 is useless? The actual question is should I also set the HardMarginX and Y? I must get rid of all spaces for the correct printing.

i have a strange problem with a VB.Net Windows Application. On my computer(the development PC) it executes the newest version of the exe and dll's but on the computer of my fellow(he is not a developer and cant debug it) an older version is executed. He has overwritten all files with the new version:
I dont know where to start looking for the reason.
EDIT: the first thing i've done was to restart the pc of my fellow but that was of no use.
When is a dll installed in the global assembly cache? Because i've searched for it in the gac with gacutil.exe but not found:

how do i get list of all connected computers in local network i have tried through Active Directory and it gives all computer names whether connected or not. the main problem is few computers on network have dual operating systems and both have different name like different on xp (comp1 xp) and different on vista (comp1 vista) and when i try to ping a computer name like (comp1 vista) which is not active, but maps to its associated ip and return replying so i m not able to get true status of computer name as (comp1 xp) can also reply on ping

Run time error '339" Component 'COMDLG32.OCX ' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
