I am looking for away to include a power point slide show inside a form in vb.net 2005. Office 2007 will be installe on all of the client machines which run the program. I have found ways to launch and control a power point slide show in an exteral window, but no way to attcah it and place it on the form window.

I have some apppliction....interface is good but its not that advance in visual style...so i manage to implement power point slide in web browser (webbrowser.navigate "pps "to twick the look of the program...but when im changing the tabs or opening other windows and then go back to tab where is pps it wont refresh properly.(web browser spec. fill)And i got flickering when im changing tabs or pages.
1.Is it because i have slow comp?
2.Or it have another way (faster) to implement power point slides in application instead of the web browser?
3.Or in general the visual basic is a poor program(when u talking about visual stile) that have some limitations and works very slow when u implementing some visual staff?
I developed a ClickOnce application using MS Chart Controls. It works fine for the charting part. But, as Chart Control needs to be installed beforehand (with admin rights and not with classic ClickOnce deployment), I need to detect if the component is available on the machine. So I tried to create a new Chart and to handle the possible Exception but it seems it is not possible to catch it (too low level Exception?) :

I have created a form containing a text box and a button. i would like to know if it is possible to embed this form in the title bar of the current active window that is opened eg: ie,notepad,word this is so that i can enter a word in the text box and use text to speech to say it or highlight a word in the active window and it will be placed in the text box of my form. i can position the form in the top right location but then the form position is stagnant.
View 3 RepliesI have a Form which has a variety of controls on it backed by an abundance of code. I am contemplating replacing some of the controls with third-party controls. What is the easiest way to do this? That is, in a simple example, I may want to just replace the Form itself (i.e. use third-party form and keep using Visual Studio controls). Is it possible to migrate all the existing controls over to the new form. Or do you have to create everything from scratch on the new form (i.e. create all the controls from scratch, name them the same, and use the old code. Note I am assuming the third party controls have all the same properties which may not be the case).

Using VS2008 and all I want to do is have a page where the user clicks on a button and the Save File Dialog pops up, the user finds the Power Point doc using the Save File Dialog popup. Once the Power Point doc is found the user clicks on the Save button on the Save File Dialog popup. And the Power Point doc is then saved to a server on the network.

I have written a program in VB Express 2008 and published it so I can install on another PC. When trying to install on another PC I get the error message "Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPack.Vs Version 9.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Cache (GAC) first" I have already installed the .NET 3.5 and the PowerPack but I still get the message.

View 4 RepliesI have following problem. In high resolution (1920x1200) computer I see in the application the datagridview correctly. column with are frozen. But if the application is installed to lower resolution (1024x786) computer the the datagridview in a form is distorted. Text does not fit properly anymore to columns and columns somehow have got wider so you need to look at right most column.

I've just finished my programme, and would liek to publish it for beneficial use . But when I publish the code, only my own computer (which has Visual Basics Express 2008 Edition installed) could use the published executable file. All the other computers comes up with a warning saying a .NET environment is required.
How could I publish the codes so that the programme could run on all (or most) computers without having VB installed in all of them?
I created a program using visual basic. For some functions the program accesses a dll which was created using visual c++. When the program is run on a computer that does not have visual studio installed, functions which make calls to the dll generate an error: Unable to load DLL 'filename.dll': This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1).Reinstalling the application does not help, and when the program is run on a computer that does have visual studio installed, calls to the dll work as expected without generating any type of error.Is there some component that is installed with Visual Studio that I need to attach to my program installation? Is there some way I can create or access the dll such that it does not need this component?

Need to show visio diagram on .net FORM, and need to be able to click on the shapes. Thats it. no creation, no stencils, no editing. Basicly just catch the click event from axDrawingControl.I'm having a "very" hard time to dig trough the visio DOM, disabling all of the functions, tool bars, menus..I basically will ever need a view-only diagram. So, to all the interop gurus out there, point me in the right direction please..I have the SDK, its (crap) not very useful in my case. Seems like a lot of resources wasted and lots of hustle for view only.
