Process.start Opens Word 2007 Docx In Internet Explorer
Aug 13, 2010
In my VB.NET 2005 windows winforms application, I use process.start (filename)to open a Word 2007 document. On some computers, the document opens in Internet Explorer instead of Word. These computers have Word 2007 installed. If I double-click a .docx document in Windows Explorer, it opens in Word 2007, not IE, this only happens with process.start.I already tried unchecking the "Browse in same window" checkbox in Folder Options - File Types - Advanced..How can I make the document open in Word 2007, not IE?
I'm developing an Outlook 2007 Add In with Visual Studio 2010 (VB).In the project I have a routine that opens, saves and closes Word 2007 documents. While the routine is executing, if I open Word 2007 application I see all the documents opening and closing, making it impossible for me to work in Word 2007.How can I launch the routine using a unique Word 2007 process?
I'm creating a On-Screen keyboard for my application, and it supports skins as well. Here's what I'm doing with the skins, I have a folder which contains some images and a xml file which maps the images to the keyboard, I want to be able to have the folder as a zip file like in Office 2007 (.docx) and iPhone firmwares (.ipsw), I know I can simply zip the folder and change the extension, what I need to know is how to read the files in the code.
I am not sure if this is a dumb question or not? Is there a way that we can read a .docx file and put it into a richtextbox? If so how? I have tried.LoadFile and it throws an exception saying invalid format? I tried reading the file from a stream and that also doesn't work?
This code worked fine in Excel 2003, but since upgrading to Excel 2007 (Office 2007) it's not working. In Excel 2003 it opened the access db form and stayed open. In Excel 2007, you can see the db open, then the form, but then it immediately closes. I've checked to code and it still works fine in 2003. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Here's the code:
Sub OpenDatabase() Set a = CreateObject("Access.Application") strDB = "C:Weekly FilesWeekly Db.accdb"
I have been trying to figure out how to read paragraph content which exists a heading. The heading itself is part of the table of contents. The heading will have a particular style (say Heading 1). For example: "Introduction" is a entry in Table of content with style Heading 1. I want to read content under heading "Introduction" but not any more content (i.e not content under sub headings of Introduction) I have been trying to do this using styles/style, TableofContent, Paragraphs/Paragraph,Range. Still cannot come up with a effective solution. I am working in VB.NET in VS 2010. I am using the word 2007 object model (office 2007 interop) as [URL]
I have developed a WinForm Application with VB.Net (VS2010) having Office 2010 Professional Installed, and it is 64-bit Windows 7 Platform. The program opens a .doc and .rtf format document, and attempts to save it in htm format. I am using following commands:
Dim sFilePath as String = "C:ABCfile.doc" Dim oApp As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application Dim oDoc As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Document
[code]....
All goes fine with development and running on development PC, but when I publish it for offline installation, and deploy it on Client PC having Windows XP with Office 2007, it gives error on oDoc.SaveAs2 line, and program crashes.
My system has Office2007. And i use VB.Net to automate word. Everything works fine. But when tried to save in Word2003 format(.doc), it is not working. But the saved document is readable in Word2007.
Dim WordApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application() Dim MyDoc As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Document
I am a desktop programmer, not a .NET programmer, but have been asked to look at a .NET application that sends data to a Word document if a user selects an icon. It worked fine until the user upgraded to XP. (The Word version is 2003 and did not change.) Now, although it still works, it opens 2 Word windows - one with the correct data, and another that is empty (it doesn't even have a blank document). The user has requested that we eliminate the empty window. The .NET code calls WORD via:
I have ran into a small problem with my code. I got bored lately so I wanted to try a project. A program that will start up with windows starts up and it opens a webpage like google.
My code is below.
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1
[CODE]...
I use the code [code] System.Diagnostics.Process.Start [URL] when a button is clicked, but when I add that code in without clicking a button, it does not work. I have tried to put it everywhere, but it just does not work. I have also looked it up.
All schdoc.internetexplorer object becomes system.windows.form.webbrowser..That's actually webbrowser control rather than internet explorer object. Also if webbrowser1 is the object, I cannot hide the object remove toolbar, status bar, and many other things.
am using vb2008, and i was wondering how to to get the content in an input field in a webpage displayed in Internet Explorer, so when i hit a button for example, i get the content of the input field(usually texbox) in a textbox inside my app. note that am not talking about using the web browser component, but a running instance of ie
I want to be able to make Internet Explorer navigate to the "about:blank" page every time its user navigates to a wesite that is blocked by the HOSTS file. Does anyone know the code that I can use to do this?
i have a Developer. have devloped application in vb.net. Now my customer says he wants to run that application in internet explorer so that can meet lots of customers for him. how can i run vb.net application in internet explorer?
I'm using Process.Start to start an external command line application and using the StartInfo.Arguments method to send parameters to the application. I imagine I'll need to use a loop... but I can't figure out exactly how yet.I need to send anywhere from 1 - an infinite number of files names to this application. Each file has to be sent one after the other. So once the first one is done, I need to loop back around and past the second one.I can probably use the Directory.GetFiles method to get all of the files, but I don't know how to assign them.
I've commented out various things to limit it to specifically this command (example, I can swap mklink out with notepad and it works fine). The command runs fine from a DOS window, but can't be found when I use it this way. I also tried using the SHELL command just to test and I get the same results. No idea why it can't be found, as like I said it executes from the command prompt just fine.
I'm working on a website in which a user enters a name and then presses a button that prompts the server to create a pdf file according to the information provided, and then sends the file to the user.
I'm testing the website on my laptop without IIS.I needed the pdf to be hebrew and couldn't find a pdfwrite with vb on hebrew; instead, I create a MS Word document and then convert it to pdf using the code below.
This works fine on Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, but on Internet Explorer the page disconnects before the download. It disconnects when the create word statement is executed.
I have some code that is supposed to automate a textbox on a webpage. The problem is, it only works half of the time. The text either displays or does not display. I added the internet controls as a reference but the HTML object library would not get added. Everytime i would go to do this, it would freeze.I also tried doing it two ways. The way that is commented out, always produced a null error. If i change the website to google.com, it works perfect everytime.[code]
Before I start, you'll probably tell me to search the forum to get the answer. But really I am searching net + this forum from last 5 days to get solution for this problem but unable to find..So here I start, probably not a new problem.
