This works fine, unless I have Windows Explorer open and I'm looking at the 'MySubFolder' directory. Then I get an IOException The directory is not empty. - clicking OK dismisses this and then the folder structure is not deleted. Any thoughts on how I can get this to perform correctly (i.e. delete), even when running this code while having the folder struture open in Windows Explorer?

Aug 13, 2010In my VB.NET 2005 windows winforms application, I use process.start (filename)to open a Word 2007 document.On some computers, the document opens in Internet Explorer instead of Word.These computers have Word 2007 installed.If I double-click a .docx document in Windows Explorer, it opens in Word 2007, not IE, this only happens with process.start.I already tried unchecking the "Browse in same window" checkbox in Folder Options - File Types - Advanced..How can I make the document open in Word 2007, not IE?

Feb 19, 2009First off a short background of the project I am working on- I am developing a program that will be run off removable media (i.e. USB Flash drive). This will be a �virtual desktop� which you will be able to take with you and have the same �desktop� on any system. As we know drive letters can change with each host system the drive is plugged into, I need to be able to determine the path for the flash drive and access a specific folder ( i.e. My Documents)
I have an picture box(representing the icon) placed on my form (form1) and when I click the icon I want to be able to open and view the a specific folder from the portable drive. I need a click event that will determine a dynamic drive letter for a directory on the removable drive and then open that directory in an explorer window.

Sep 21, 2009I currently have a program that I made which opens other apps packaged with an installer. I have set the installer to install everything to the Program Files folder. However, not all computers have a C: hard drive. I have a way in which they can enter their drive letter in one form then in the next form it remembers the drive and will take them to the program. The problem is my program stores the drive letter in an xml file. On the startup of the program it looks in the xml file to find the drive letter, if there is no drive letter the form opens then lets the user set his drive letter. The xml file is stored in the folder "Math Wizard" in the Program Files folder. But if not all computers have C:Program Files I need a shortcut to the program files folder. I have been trying to use %ProgramFiles% (%Program Files% + "Math Wizardconfig.xml") but vb is saying that the % is an invalid character. Here's my code:

Now when I go back to the solution explorer, I can see Admin.vb but it doesn't have the form icon and clicking it doesn't open the form. Instead it opens the code.All of my other forms are fine and have the right icons and open in the [Design] view ...The form obviously still exists as it opens in runtime but I can't seem to open the design view for it.

Is that a driver that is "expressing" itself like a folder structure?How about when you plug a camera or other device in a usb port and it shows as a G: drive, for instance?I'm guessing the G: drive trick is just a "driver" starting up for the usb port that somehow makes itself seen as a mapped drive.Is the \tsclient thing done the same way?
