At present i have an interface which displays a string of sql code in a rich text box.
I also have my microsoft access database connected to the form.
How would i go about getting the sql code in the rich text box to produce the results for the query??
I have created a class called Student, with five private variables: [code] My main form is divided into a number of different sub procedures. In one of them, I used a streamreader to take the first name, last name, and phone numbers of a list of records in a text file called PersonalInfo.txt. It seems to work just fine. [code] I have another, separate sub procedure in which I read a different text file containing the "averages" for the students. The first average from Averages.txt belongs with the first student in PersonalInfo.txt. The second average goes with the second student.. How do I add the student average information to the properties of the student records created in the previous sub procedure? I want to (SQL) select from a table in an Oracle database, and show the results of the query in the VB application, in a Excel like manner (rows, columns, selectable, etc.). Or in a SQL developer manner. How can I do that? Browsed through a lot of tutorials and howtos on the internet, did not get anywhere. I think (and correct me if I am wrong) that it's gotta be something with DataGridView. But I don't know how to create and populate a datatable with the result of as Select statement, how to create a dataset.

i have to add a student to my listbox but with many informations for example i have many textboxs (textbox for the age of the student, textbox for the name of the student & ECT) how can i had one student with all these infromation(age, name, major) in the load form also when i click on the student in listbox it shows age in the textbox1, name in textbox2 & ECT add student with multiple information in listbox [form load], and when i click on the student in the listbox it shows the students infromation on each textbox like textbox1 age, textbox2 name it's all with visual basic language.

I'm creating a rewards system for school where pupil earn points for good behavior which they can then use to purchase things like a packet of pens. (They can also have points deducted for bad behavior). I've created all the forms and now its just getting the data in from the Access database. This is what I need to do. On my form called detailsPupil it shows various information such as Name, email address, last login etc. This form is loaded once the pupil has logged in.

We are creating a VB program for school to collect data on student attendance and populate it to a table. I have all of the 'GET' statements but am having trouble creating the 'Insert' procedure. This is what I have so far. The form being used to fill the table has 4 items being recorded. 'Present' radio button marked as present, tardy or absent; StudentId, PeriodId and date. Not sure if we are on the right track. The target table is tmAttendance. There are approximately 25 rows of data on the input form.

I think probably the biggest help would be an explaination of what the code in bold is actually doing. I pulled this from a book but don't think I completely understand. To me it seems like its saying that for each row in table 'extract'. Extract it, and write it?? But it doesn't seem to work that way. I have a query using LINQ-to-SQL. It queries an underlying database table Rooms. It uses Where conditions to narrow down the results, namely:

UPDATE: I've verified that the issue is with the statement where sh.is_available = 1, which doesn't make sense since this is a bit field.
Why would a VB/ASPX page not return results for a query which runs fine with other Oracle clients? (Same username) The following code should first output the query and then execute it outputting a single exclamation point per record. However, it outputs the query (as it should), but does not return any rows (nor error). If I copy the query to SQL Plus (or other editor) as the same user, the query returns results.
