RTF & TEXT - Combine Some Data Into A RTB From A Database Into A Single RTB With Formatting
Aug 10, 2011
I am trying to combine some data into a RTB from a Database into a single RTB with formatting. Let me try and explain... In my Database I have some Fields that Contain RichText (formatted) and Some that are only Text (nvarchar) and I need to combine these into one RTB with formatting.
I am trying to understand transformation matrices (not just their implementation in VB, but in general) and I've put about 3 full days into this so far. I believe I have the data in my matrices correct. Applying any single matrix to an array of points does a correct transformation.I am wondering if I understand how to combine multiple matrices into a single one.I understand you just have to multiply them together.I took this to mean you just have to multiply each element with its corresponding element in the second to make a third matrix?[code]
I had a related question running on this in a different thread, but I was told to start a new thread since the original had gotten off the original topic. I am trying to scan multiple pages from an Automatic Document Feeder Scanner and combine them to a singlemulti-page tif file. I am using two different third party libraries to do this. The first library I am using is to scan the documents. It saves the files to the local hard drive as single page tif files. This library returns the file-names as they were saved on the hard drive. This part seems to be working as advertised. The sourcefor this including a video on how to use it is at:
Dim FileNames As Collection Dim FileArray As New List(Of String) Dim Mergename as String
I've made a rudimentary program that combines multiple files into one single file. Currently if I combine two .csv files together the output comes out correctly for what I need, which is a coma delimited file. When I try to combine two .csv files into a .xls file it doesn't format correctly (I get all the data separated by commas, but thrown into one column in the .xls file). For this reason I believe I need to add a delimiter.I'll post my code below.
somehow combine the results of separate Fill queries on a single dataset?Basically, I'm trying to implement a 'Filter' function, whereby, the user can filter the records in a DataSet according to specific criteria.
I have a code that binds the data from the database to textboxes. The problem is I want to make one of the textboxes Payment use a dollar sign.I tried formatting it as shown in the code below but only the first record gets formatted, the rest do not. When I click the next button, the dollar sign disappeared.
I have tried everything else I know, FormatCurrency but no luck.Payment is the name of the column in the database, the data type in SQL Server is Small Money.
Using VB 2008, I have a form which includes a richtextbox which is bound to a database field. When i bind the datafield to the richtextbox, I get an unformatted display unlike the control in VB6. How can I bind the data from the database to the richtextbox so that it displays formatted?
I have a rich text box in one of my applications (WPF). Now I want to store the data of the rich text box along with its formatting (e.g. bold, colored etc.) into a database (SQL Server). Currently I am storing the whole XAML of the text box in a database field. however, I am not sure whether this is the right approach.
I have a number of text boxs that gather data and put it in a combined string in a rich text box that displays all of the collected data. Some of the text boxes require data pasted from other sources however when that data is then copied from the rich text box to the clipboard through a routine, it loses its formatting. home to maintain the original formating?
I am writing a message system on my server, the xml is something like this
<xml> <entry> <sender>[code]....
my problem now i guess is 2 fold, i wish to combine the first 3 queries into a single query and place in a list or a collection or is there a way to do this with a single query that will give me my desired result?
The apostrophe is used to separate data when adding records to an Access Database data table using the "INSERT INTO" SQL statement. Having apostrophes in the data really screws things up with this new software. Is there a simple workaround? Is it possible to specify a different character? Is it possible to add data without using SQL Statements? I also noticed that the new OleDbDataAdapter Add Method generates the same SQL Error because it apparently creates an "INSERT INTO" SQL Statement.gh
I am trying to update a row or a single cell in ms access through vb.net. But when i update the text box named NRIC, say for example i want to update "s4522147B" to "tr4521856C" and mean while leaving the other fields the same.
But the thing is when i make the changes in nric.text (textbox), the dataset actually updates the whole column in the table instead of the selected textbox.
1 List all of the data from Teams.txt in a Listbox. Include suitable headings.
2 List all of the data from Results.txt in the Listbox (use the same Listbox as in 1 above).Include suitable headings. Note that you cannot assume that the file contains onlyresults for the first 3 weeks of the season. Your program should be able to process a results file with more or fewer results.
3 List all of the data from Results.txt in the Listbox. However, in this case the actual team names should be output (your program will need to get this data from Teams.txt. The data should be formatted so that it is aligned correctly. Include suitable headings.
The output might look as follows:
Home Team Away Team Home Team Goals Away Team Goals Bunbury Braves Nedlands Nodders 5 2
I have a long text file with job descriptions with each description split over 5 rows. (2 examples are below.) I would like to combine each of the 5 rows of the single description into 1 row. so for example the 10 lines below would be combined into 2 rows so that I can then import into SQL server and clean it up. I'm fairly new to vb.net but I've written the code to import the text file and export it again but I need to process it after import.

I'm looking for a way to take seven 2 digit numbers & combine them into one number to store in a database. The numbers represent hours for each day of the week & I only have one field to store them in. Then I need to be able to take the stored number & decode it back into the original seven numbers. Anyone have any clever ideas how I can do this?
I am used to creating a data set with data from one table, for instance:
[Code].....
Now I am needing to add a second table. For instance, my second table "EQUIPMENT" has a field called "DESCRIPTION" that I would like to add to my dataset. The "WORKORDER" table has a field called "EQNUM" which is what the "EQUIPMENT" table uses as the primary key. how to combine these into one dataset?
Does anyone know how to, or if it is even possible, to add data from two different databases into one datagridview? For instance, the following is my code for one source of data, pulling from Access.
[Code]...
PartNumber from the first dataset and ItemNumber from the second are supposed to be alike. What I need in my datagridview is all the info from the first dataset and then for each row I need the description from the second dataset, based on the PartNumber that is listed for that row.
I am rewriting a program I originally did in MS Access. In this program I pull a table from the company's AS400 iSystems, it is filtered by data that I have in an Access Table. In Access, I first link both tables to the source and then just create a Query as if both tables were local. Now that I am using .Net, the second table is in SQL Server 2008.
All I would like to do concatinate text from two different cells using VB Express 2010. I know there is a =A1&" "&B1 Funtion if I were using excel an thier is also the concatinate function but I do not know how to use these in VB. Below is what I have so far for simply copying one cell to another.
title = CType(xlsApp.Sheets(Counter1), Excel.Worksheet).Range("A1")
In my form, A user can do some stuff on my program which will create a new tabpage with a text box on it. The user also selects the name of the tab, which is then the name of the textbox with a "2" on the end of it.
What I need to know is how to get the texts from however many tabpage's textboxes there are and combine them into one textbox, as a sort of receipt.
What I was thinking, because I have this method of removing all the tabpages, is using a code like the one below maybe to do the job, not sure how I would alter it to work though. [code]...
How do I concat combo box data. E.g. value in combo box 1 is "L1" and value in combobox 2 is "03". How do I combine them together into L103? Part of the code looks like this. I am trying to combine two combo box values into one single string and save it in my database. I tried to run the program, but when I click the save button, nothing happen. And I look into my database, no data being added.
