Let's say, when you click a button it just opens a specified .txt file and adds the data of it to a listbox. I mean automatically, without that file opening dialog showing?
I am writing an application that will use a OpenFileDialog control that will read a text file into memory and later process it.
I do have the following filter: Text files (*.txt)|*.txt|CSV files (*.csv)|*.csv|Spaced Text files (*.prn)|*.prn|All files (*.*)|*.*"
When I navigate to my test folder that contains a single .txt file, I see that file. When I change the filter to *.cvs that files goes disappears because it has a .txt extension. That is good. But when I select All files *.* it does not re appear? Why and how do I make it appear.

I pretty much understood how to write text to a file, but I cannot grasp how to READ the information. After I read the information, I would like to add each seperate line to a ListBox. Each line in the text file is a file path for a music file, as the file I wish to read information from is a "custom extension" playlist file. I know what to do after I get the file path, but I do not know how to get the file path from the playlist.
Im trying to code a media player from scratch and I noticed that the Movie I play will always stretch out to my moviewindow size Ruining the aspect ratio--I want to get the size of the original File, and make it work alwasy have that aspect Ratio...I cannot get the size,
I currently know how to click a button on the application and when I click it, it invokes the OpenFileDialog Event or Object. After It Opens the Open File Dialog, I am able to select only ONE file from a location on my computer. After I click that Single File on my computer, I press the Okay or Open Button on the Open File Dialog, and then it adds that items to my list Box, knows as PlayList_00 and PlayList_01.

Unfortunately most of the output files by the 'other program' are html format.Question Is there a way to strip out HTML from the file when it has opened in my text area within the program? So that when the check box is true, columns 1 and 3 turn different colours, and when false, go to a yellow colour.However, when I "re-insert" my DGV info from my text file, the check boxes come back correctly - as true and false on the right rows - but columns 1 and 3 don't change colour. I've tried a "DataGridView1.Refresh" option but not getting it to work.The DGV is unbound. I need it to recognise which check boxes are true and update automatically when the information is opened from a text file.

I'm trying to get a random line of text to appear in a messagebox upon button click, I want the listbox to be closed while the action is to be performed.
I can do it when the listbox is open but not when closed, here is what happens if I try to do it when it's closed
and the message "InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'." I tried reading it straight from the .xml file the data is stored on, but that didn't go so well either.
