ReadOnly Properties - Test For A Right/equilateral Triangle In My Get Accessor?
Apr 13, 2009
I'm designing an application for a class where the user inputs three values and the program tells them whether it is a right triangle, equilateral triangle, or neither.I'm trying to figure out how to test for a right/equilateral triangle in my get accessor.... Here is the code so far for the class:[code]......
I am drawing a circle, of let's say 300 pixels diameter. I want to draw a triangle, with the top of it being at New Point(diameter / 2, 0). How could I get the other 2 points of the triangle? If possible, how could i get the 3 points of a triangle rotated by x degrees?
I am using a PropertyGrid control to edit my class properties and I am trying to set certain properties read-only depending on other property settings.This is the code of my class:
Imports System.ComponentModel Imports System.Reflection Public Class PropertyClass[code].....
This is the code I am using to edit the values:
Dim c As New PropertyClass PropertyGrid1.SelectedObject = c
The problem is that when I set SomeProperty to True, nothing happens and when I then set it to False again it sets all properties Read-Only.
I'm faced with a couple of problems in VB.net: I have a series of objects, which properties I'm displaying in a grid for the user to edit. My first problem is: how do I get a list of all the properties of an object? Is it even possible? The datagrid control that I'm using accepts string values with the name of the property as parameters, but inserting them manually would be a real problem, because there are a LOT of them. So: is there a way to get a list of strings with the name of each property of an object?
If that's possible, here comes the second question: Now, of course, since users are editing the properties, I'm not interested in showing ReadOnly properties which they cannot edit. Hence my secodn problem: is there a way to check if a property is readonly at runtime?
What is an elegant way to create and initialise instances of a class that has several readonly properties? Passing all values in a constructor would not be very convenient.
The purpose is that instances are immutable after initialisation. However if the constructor is not used for initialising all the property values, then how can the readonly properties be changed from another class?
I have a bunch of private variables I've typed out and I want to put all of my corresponding Public ReadOnly Properties in a bunch below them.Is there some way of copying ten lines of
Private _myVar As String
and pasting in ten sets of
Public Readonly Property MyVar As String Get Return _myVar[code]....
I'm currently copying the whole bunch of variable declarations, Find+Replacing Private _ into Public ReadOnly Property then going line-by-line expanding the definitions and writing return statements.how to avoid all this nonsense in the future, as I'm developing on a virtual terminal server, and the input lag on my little copy/paste/type operations on the code is driving me up the wall.
I'm working on rewriting something in VB that was previously in C# and while I was doing so, I came across a "dilemna." I can have a ReadOnly Property:
Public ReadOnly Property MaximumIndenture() Get Try 'If the connection is closed, open it.'
[code]....
They both essentially do the same thing, but I'm not sure which would be more accepted in the community.
I'm trying to make alterations to an existing project, and I've found a project in the solution which is full of generated classes.Problem is, nobody here can tell me what generated them, so I'm pretty much left with pasting one of the classes in here and hoping someone will be able to tell me where they came from.
The solution I'm working on uses Expression Blend 3 and Visual Studio 2008. Dunno if that's relevant, but I'm trying to give as much information as I can think of... As well as this class, which appears in its own file, there's an "SPResults" file, which contains about 5000 lines of accessor classes of this type. Not quite sure why EndCustomer is in its own file...
From what I can see for myself, there's a stored procedure in one of the databases this program links to, and that SP's name is "GetEndCustomers". Something has then created a class called "EndCustomers" to represent the return type of this procedure.
The first part is a function from a class named Database, which returns a collection of the objects in question.
<FunctionAttribute(Name:="dbo.GetEndCustomers")> _ Public Function GetEndCustomers(<Parameter(Name:="Dummy", DbType:="VarChar(1)")> ByVal Dummy As String) As ISingleResult(Of Data.EndCustomer) Dim result As IExecuteResult = Me.ExecuteMethodCall(Me, CType(MethodInfo.GetCurrentMethod, MethodInfo), Dummy)
[Code]...
So, yeah, can anyone tell me what has been used to generate this class? It could be something in Visual Studio, Expression Blend, SQL Server Management Studio, or some obscure bit of software I haven't even noticed is on the PC. Any clues, anyone?
Is there ever a situation where I should do the following in .NET instead of using a property with read/write capability?
private S as string public function GetS() as string
[code]....
Do properties simply provide a more efficient way for doing the same thing?Will properties be any slower than the above accessor functions in a high performance application?
I'm using LinqToSql classes in an ASP.NET website and let's say I have an entity named Testimonials. Two pages utilize this type - the first being a list of all existing Testimonial records and the second being an add / editor with which to manage the records. [Code] This allows population a DataGrid with the returned items, however on the add / editor page we alter the query ever so slightly: [Code] This query dies, prior to even trying to populate anything, with the following message: [Code]
I have pretty much identical methods for other data objects which have been and still are executing just fine. One immediate difference I can think of is that this table has been recently updated in the database, removed from the dbml designer and re-added to the dbml designer. None of the other tables have undergone this process for some time. [Code] Why is this exception occurring and how can I configure my project appropriately to correct the issue?
I have a web service created with vb.net in vs 2010. Here is a look at my property
Public Class MyClass Inherits ConfigurationSection Protected _score As Integer
[code].....
When I try to add this as a service to a web app, also done in vs2010 with vb.net, I get the error in the title. Please help with this. I am not sure what is needed in order to implement a default accessor.
I'm creating a movable scenary with, like 100 different flights. I want to create for every type of flight a triangle...so it's moves around and you have an idea how the airspace looksq like at what moment.Now my question is, what's the best way to draw these rectangles? I created a class 'Flight' and it has a Graphicspath in it. Now I want to update the triangle, which represents the aircraft, with the speed and heading...so it moves around well.
Dim blackPen As New Pen(Color.Black, 3) Dim ptsArray As PointF() = {New PointF(100.0F, 120.0F), New PointF(70.0F, 60.0F), _ New PointF(40.0F, 120.0F), New PointF(100.0F, 120.0F)} e.Graphics.DrawLines(blackPen, ptsArray)
I have the outline of a triangle right where I want it. I need to fill it so it's a solid color. Can anyone give me a start on filling it? (Using VB.NET 2008)
Currently working on a 2D engine, not for gaming but for design software / visualisation for machines. So far it is comming along quite fine. I started to wonder if it were possible to draw a triangle and fill it with some form of a a texture, or even better a polygon and fill that with a texture.
I know that DX can do that for me :P but I am realy focussing on GDI+ at the moment.
I am taking an Intro to VB class in college and for on of our assignments we need to make several shapes with *'s. The user is prompted by an input box where they decide how large to make the shapes. The only one that I am struggling with is the inverted triangle. Here is what it should look like if the user would select to have 5 rows.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Here is the code that I have written for the REGULAR triangle.
Private Sub btnTriangle_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnTriangle.Click Dim numstars As Integer
i was asked to do a program which can find if a 2d point is inside a triangle or not, only the 3 points of the triangle were given. i planned to do this using the slopes of the 3 sides, then with y-y1=m(x-x1) using the other vertex and the point being checked see if the slope was the same sign and on the same side of the line. if this was true for all 3 then the point is inside the triangle the problem is i cant think of a logical expression for the if/then/else structure to show this anyone know what i should use or should i just go down a completely different route?
and from VB6 project I reference to Test.dll but an error messege was appear A reference to Test.dll file could not be added (If I create VB NET project and reference to file Test.dll it OK )
I have a menu strip on a form and to assist the users and to make it more aesthetically pleasing I want to add an inverted triangle at the end of each menu title to make it more obvious there are other options available if you click on it.I am currently using Times New Roman as a font but that can be changed if necessary.
