I'm not sure if this is possible within VS, but I'm working with a massive VB.NET file that needs to log every function call for debug purposes. Problem is, that not every function has the Log command in it. I'm trying to use RegEx to find the function efinitions that do not have a log within them.This would NOT be a match:
Public Function Test1() as Boolean
Log.Tracelog("Test1()")
Return True
It seems up until now I've never used Regex, nor even heard of it. But once I did I realized how extremely useful this is. Having said, it's been 2 days since I've began looking into constructing my own patterns. My most recent being for decimals. Is the pattern I provided below "proper"? and are there also any improvements I could be making for a more efficient patter, which would minimize any possibility of a loophole? [code] So for my use, this is doing what it's supposed to being doing under every test I can through at it. But do mind the 0. and .0, I have a function to normalize these as they are proper, I just pad the left and right accordingly. I found most regex questions asked here..and yes I am doing this in vb.net so it fits. If not, then feel free to move this post somewhere else better suited for the topic of discussion.
I am in a need of a Regular Expression to restrict input to only certain characters in a text box. The text box can only allow 0 or 1 "+" sign at the beginning and at no other position. The text box can only allow 0 or 1 ":" sign not before the "+" sign. The text box can allow any number of 0-9 digits.
Will i be able to successfully install 2010 beta 2 side by side 2008? because i want to test 2010 features and some development toolkits such as silverlight while i don't want to uninstall my visual studio 2008 professional.
Was a new project. Most questions can be answered with a little self research. Runs in the back ground; Registered key ALT-Q This was used since it does not directly interfere inside visual studio.

My next version plans to move from using a textfile saved data to XML. Maybe Only activate(hotkey) if VS opens...
Website from download and fetch data, but i get empty value. I don't know how to make it find with multiline between " - ", but they're on different rows. (")
Does anybody know which version of Visual Studio 2010 contains the full set of Visual Basic SharePoint Templates? I am about to embark on a project to create Visual Web Parts to be used in a SharePoint report.
At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates
Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation.So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?
I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.
I want to use "OpenGL" in my project. Is it possible to associate it with "Visual Basic" application developed in Visual Studio 2010? If yes then how can we do it.
I have a project in visual basic 2010 and want to convert it to visual studio 2010 so I don't have to chose the "open with" every time. Is there a tutorial on how to do this?
To reproduce the error I'm getting:Create a new Visual Studio 2010 ASP.NET web site in Visual Basic, targeting .NET 2.0Type "Public Property Test As String" Observe "Visual Basic 9.0 does not support auto-implemented properties." error Visual Studio 2010 is happy to use VB 10 against .NET 2.0-targeted Windows Forms applications, this only appears to be an issue with ASP.NET.Is there a way to force Visual Studio 2010 to use VB 10 when targeting .NET 2.0?
have just overlooked something somewhere...I am writing VB.NET stuff in VS2010 on Windows 7 64-bit. It seems to build by default for a 32-bit target, how to I tell it to make a 64-bit executable?
WebMatrix is a web development and deployment tool by Microsoft so how is this compared to Visual Studio? which Use C# Razor Syntax is that more better coding.
I'm trying to create a regex which will match either one of the following [code] This regex is supposed to return all and any form of the function that is used.If match string were - FVAL(A,"B")+5 then match group should be FVAL(A,"B")
I can get it to work in VB.NET but not C#. I can't figure out why it works in one but not the other.
[Code]...
As far as I can tell the patterns are identical in both languages with escaping. When I run the VB code I get a match. When I run the C# code I get nothing.
I have just coded the below regular expression. I have a mini rich text editor on a web page (very similar to the one I am using to post this question) and I want to make use of a double asterisk to indicate which words/phrases should be wrapped in a strong tag. The aim is to allow the user to add pre-defined HTML elements without actually having to submit HTML. [code...]
Maybe I am over-optimising this, but I want to know if this can be made more efficient?
It is a little like a search and replace, I want to replace any string that contains any substring in parentheses with the same string but the words in parentheses colored RED: Eg
Take this text in TextBox1:
"The Prime Minister (that idiot from Scotland) made a speech today"
and convert to this text in RichTextBox1:
"The Prime Minister (that idiot from Scotland) made a speech today"
I am trying to use regular expression for extracting data from web page. but everytime i change the URL i need to change my regular expression for URL.
I have the following function that I am using to remove the characters 4 and nulls from my xmlString but I can't find what do I need to change to avoid removing the from my ending tags. This is what I get when I run this function
I have a textbox which takes as input the email address. Do you have regular expression validator in vb.net so that I can check if '@' is present or not in the string
I have a string (can be anything) and somewhere in the middle of the string there's a filename with the extension 'txt'. The filename can basically be anything, and any filename is correct, but with a certain exception.
If the filename ends with .part<number>.txt, the <number> can only be one of the following, 1, 01, 001, 0001.
I have to compile projects which was compiled in Visual Studio 6 in Visual Studio 2005. When i compiled i got a set of same error. I opened the project for VS6 by selecting File->open->project/solution and tried to build a solution by Build option but i am getting the following error.
So I can get the URL value as the only Match from the Regular expression - but I don't understand enough about them (yet) to do this. I have seen RegEx examples that will parse any INI file and get the Name, Value Pairs I just want to get the URL value only from a file no matter what else it contains. My aim is to have something like this:
Dim _pattern As New Text.RegularExpressions.Regex("RegEx") Dim _url As String = _pattern.Match(iniContentString).Value
It seems simple but I cannot seem to create a specific case RegEx where I want everything from "URL=" to the vbCrLf at the End to be my "Match". I have refered to Regular-Expressions.info which has been a help before but still cannot get this simple example to work.
