I have a multi-client DB (multitennant) with several tables.Two of these tables are tblEmployees and tblTitles.Now I have a relationship from tblEmployees.empTitle to tblTitles.ttlID.That far everything is working.But now I have to make the application for multiple clients/tennants.So I added the fields tblEmployees.empClient and tblTitles.ttlClient and included them into the association.This works fine for reading and for setting the persons title as well.But if I try to remove the title (set it to NULL), SQL to Linq tries to modify both tblEmployees.empTitle and tblEmploy ees. empClient with is not allowed because tblEmployees.empClient is part of the primary key.And so I get the following error:[code]How can I tell SQL to Linq only to modify field tblEmployees.empTitle???

I'm a bit of a n0ob to all this and I'm having trouble finding good resources on the net.What I'm trying to do is define a one-to-many relationship between two entities. I'm using the GUI tool in Visual Studio - and have created the tables in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.Basically, I have two tables....a 'Users' table and a 'Sites' table. A single user can have many sites associated with it.Users has a primary key of 'UID' and the Sites table as a primary key of 'Site_ID'.Sites also has a column 'UID' that should indicate which user that site is associated with.Anyway - it sounded pretty simple; but no matter what I attempt to do, I can't seem to get it to work. Mostly, I get validation errors - sometimes run-time errors, or sometimes, no actual data even though there should sites that match the UID of the user.I am able to connect and write LINQ against my Users table/pull down User objects - but can't seem to get it to know that the Sites are associated with the user.In the GUI - if I go to 'Add Association' and create a 1 to many link between Accounts and Sites - and Validate - I get an error saying, "Error1Error 11008: Association 'AccountsSites' is not mapped."
It seems like, when I try to make an association, it wants to link the 'Keys' of each entity.But U_ID and SITE_ID are the keys and, obviously, shouldn't match.If I click on the line it created in the GUI and I go to 'Table Mapping' I can see that it is trying to match those keys. Since I want it to match user_ids my first thought is to just make the U_ID the entity Key in the Sites entity but, of course, that's wrong because it would no longer allow a 1 to many relationship.
I have been searching for days and months on youtube,google and everywhere else about how to create a Multi user chat system, where everybody can talk to each other all at once. Some people say Winsock is the way to go and others say TCP/IP is the way to go. I have little to no experience in either one of them. So if somebody can give me a really great turtioal or show me the guide lines on how to create a server and a client I would highly appreacite it. I am using Visual Basic 2008 express.

Developing an application that will serve as an application server (Similar to 'Run Advertised Program' that is present in Windows Server). The downside to using Microsofts current system is that it a) requires Windows Server and b) Works only with systems setup in a proper Domain. I have a number of systems in my house and I'm fed up of downloading from the net or setting up network drives etc etc. I've tried using the code in a similar topic posted a few threads down, but it obviously doesn't support multiple client connections.
I have a MS sql database (not server), my program reads file structure from my 2 TB external drive and saves the list a records in database. I write around 80k records every time and it takes a great time.I am currently writing records by dividing them into 2 background Worker thread 40k each. My pc is Quad core Phenom II.What is the best way to achieve this and also would there be any benefits by increasing the number of threads because mine is only a 7200rpm hdd and not raid. What I mean is HDD might be a limitation?
I'm having some trouble creating a multi-client server / client thingy.So far, I've used Atheist's example and allowed the clients to successfully transmit information.However, whenever I send more than 1 message to the server at the same time, the server bugs up and does not receive the message at all. I suspect it has something to do with the DoRead method reading from both clients and stuffing it up or something.
I want to make my client & server fully working. If a client connects to the server it should tell that there is a new client connected. if a client disconnects it should tell me a client disconnected.[code]it says in my patcher window(where it should add the text) that it's succesfully connected.but at the server side its not saying there is a new client connected/disconnected, how can I do this?
I am trying to create a smart client (multi table manager). I didn't want to make it a MDI app, so I used a TabControl to host each table UI. I am having problems with the BindingNavigator control. When I drag the table grid from the DataSources to the top tabpage, the designer adds all the needed controls. However, on the other tabpages it doesn't add the BindingNavegator. So, is this the proper behavior or am I doing something I am not supposed to do? What would be the best way on doing this? Do I need to make it a MDI app.?
I'm working with VB 2008 and I have a problem when using multiple listbox. For instance, I have 3 listboxs (StudentID, Surname, GivenName) and all of them are related to each other. I would like to allow users to remove a specific item by typing StudentID. Then StudentID, and two related data Surname and GivenName will be deleted also.

I'm trying to make a chat room that when the user connects hes added to a listview. Im having trouble on how would i remove that client when the user disconnects.
I understand that you can do ListView1.Item.RemoveAt(Sender) but that would not work because RemoveAt only accepts integers.
I'm working on an ASP.NET 4.0 site, which I inherited ownership of. It has a number of existing LINQ datasources pointing to individual tables. For example, to the Patient Encounter Summary table in SQL Server. The problem is in displaying the data there. It's a normalized database, so that table contains (for example) the provider ID, rather than the provider name.
It's simple enough to join the Patient Counter Summary to the Providers table (in SQL)... but how does one do that in ASP.NET? I'm not sure of the correct nomenclature, but the 'mid layer' is VB.

All transfer of information is directly from the server to each client. after downloading an emulator for the gameboy advance, all my icons hav turned to the adobe logo. When I double click on them, all that happens is the abobe reader comes up and says it can't open it. The only way I have found to open them is right clicking on them and hitting properties and clicking on shortcut ---> open file location and opening it from there.However I would like to open it regularly and I am not very computer savvy but I believe it has to due with file association.
