View 5 RepliesI am adding some picture boxes to the form dynamically, I want to give the users an option to remove the picture box, say by right clicking on it and selecting Remove. Or by some other way, as it is available in Microsoft Word, where the user can simply press Delete to remove the picture.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to use a checkbox that is dynamically declared in an .vb file that I am trying to write into my .aspx page. I am able to write a normal checkbox of <input type='checkbox /> from the .vb Class using Response.write, but it comes up blank when using <asp:Checkbox runat='server' />I need to pass whether or not the box is checked back to the server, because I am having to either approve something if one is checked, reject something if the other is checked or do nothing if neither are checked.
View 3 RepliesI am dynamically declaring types (using ModuleBuilder.DefineType() which are used to allow for strongly typed data sets from a CSV file. However when the user adds or alters a column definition I'd like to remove and rebuild the data type. How I drop and recreate a type - do I have to unload the whole assembly or how is it done?
View 3 Repliesthere are two forms, form1 and form2. form1 has textboxes 10, the user can enter data in a specific number of textboxes: ie: 5 or 3, or etc.
then the user clicks a button, and based on the number of textboxes that he entered data on, form2 will load a number of texboxes: If the user filled 3 textboxes in form1, form2 will show 3 textboxes.
I need to have it so a user can select two numbers from some listboxes and then have those two numbered form's values switched.[code]...

View 1 RepliesI wrote the following code to create dynamic controls-textboxes and labels.
ctlRow += 1

How can I access the data entered into these textboxes.
I have created a sample program that dynamically created up to 7 numbers of Labels and Text Boxes. Here I want to add those numbers inputted by user on dynamically created text boxes.

Dim WithEvents LblLabel As Label
Dim NoOfControl As Integer
Dim A As Integer

I have a TableGridLayout (6 x 6) which host 36 buttons created at design time. From the 36 buttons, only a handfull maybe needed at anyone time depending on data retrieved from an SQL database.Everytime I need to 'clear' the grid to populate with new items, I clear the text of each button, make it visable if required and then upadate with the new text.On every pass if a button becomes active, I add an event handler to the button like this.[code]...

View 3 RepliesI am dynamically creating a table which places a dynamically created radiobuttonlist in each row.
I then want to display the results on the page when the submit button is clicked.
I am getting an error message stating that
'question1' is not declared
Why might this be happening?? I've included all my code below.
Code behind:
Sub Page_Load(ByVal Sender as Object, ByVal E as EventArgs)
For i As Integer = 1 To 3
Dim TableRow As New TableRow()

I have declared an array of text boxes created dynamically at run time. The textboxes are assigned some values by user. The text boxes are located in a Form so that once the user fills in the info and clicks the "ok" button, these values are passed at the back end and the form dissappears. However the user can bring back the form again by clicking another button.
The problem is that once the form reappears, the information previously provided in the form remains. Even the user clears the text boxes to provide new value, the text boxes at code behind do not receive these values.
I am using VB.NET vb 2008 . I am trying to create text boxes dynammically and remove them here is the code i have written so far
Private Sub setTextBox()
Dim num As Integer
Dim pos As Integer
[Code]....
I am able to create the textboxes but only a few of them are removed. by using For Each ctrl In Panel1.Controls it doesn't retrieve all the controls and some ae duplicated as well.
I have developed a C# DLL which contains some images included as "Embedded Resource" in the DLL. I would like to write a small external C# application that would allow me to dynamically add (or remove) embedded images to (from) my DLL, if possible without having to recompile it. Is that possible?
View 6 RepliesWhat's the best way to dynamically remove method calls at runtime? Essentially what I'd like to do is pass a parameter to my application. Let's call the parameter level. Depending on the value of level, I'd like to essentially remove all the calls that have higher levels. I have the following but was wondering if there were a simpler/cleaner way to remove the calls:
Ideally I'd really like to write something like:
Log5("message")
And just have Log5 work or not call if it doesn't exist. My goal is to actually remove the call. The overhead for calling level 5 logs that test and return is fairly high and I rarely use it.
Module Module1
Delegate Sub Log(ByVal message As String)
Public Log1 As Log = Nothing
Public Log2 As Log = Nothing

When I open a form the caption is added to my menustrip under open windows. This is fine. However I want to remove this from the menustrip when i close the form.

View 3 RepliesI find myself copying single files to multiple different machines, so would like to create something to help.I would like a numericupdown, which dynamically adds text boxes (which will be destination file paths). I will obviously need it to remove them too when I decrease the number.

Project1 builds ShellControl.dll.One of the forms in Project 1 contains the event "Public Event CommandEntered As EventCommandEntered".
Project 2 builds the Windows Form application TestApp which use ShellCopntrol.dll built by Project1.Form1 in Project 2 contains the following statements:

Basically what I need to do is change a textbox on Form1 (AKA mainwin) from Form2 (AKA loginwin) using data that is inputted into Form2. I've done this before with applications by declaring Form1 in Form2, but this time I just get a NullReferenceException error. Here's the code I'm currently using for Form2. Maybe someone here can tell me why it's not working. [Code] I can't figure out why it's not working. I've used this same method before and it always worked.

I am desinging a form with mutiple controls on a tab page control and was moving controls between tab pages by cutting and pasting them. The forms designer obviously got confused at some stage and I now have controls that are declared in the designer.vb but do not appear anywhere on the form.
I can't even rename the controls that are there which have been given generic names to the names I want because they apparently already exist. I realise I could edit the designer.vb and remove the references to these controls but that seems fraught with danger?
The following is a screenshot of the problem: What can I do?
View 3 RepliesHow do I dynamically add or remove a chart series on a WinForm. To date all my MS Charting experience has been dealing with ASP.Net charts with static sql select statment to a SQL Database. In the new project that I have been assigned I have different cities with different amounts of points that they want monitored. One city might have 3 an another might have 5 or 7 so I can't hard code the amount of series that I need. It needs to be set up so the amount of series can be flexible depending on the city selected and then display those points on the chart.
View 4 RepliesI'm brand new to VB, though I have some experience in C++. I have a 9x9 grid of many textboxes in my form, and I am trying to output the position of each textbox, as well as its contents, to a text file. For example, if the textbox (3,4) contains 5, I would like to output 3 4 5 to a file, and so on for each text box. Also, I really have no way of knowing which textbox is which, they are only called TextBox1, TextBox2, etc.
