I have a Windows Form application in VB.net 2008 using a picture box to continuously render the video. I'm not able to get click events on top of the rendered video being displayed within the picture box. If I click to the side (still in the picture box, but where there is no video being rendered) then the click event comes through.

Im trying to make a program that allows the user to view additional information via moving the cursor over the label to view (make visble) additional information, in the form of text boxes and/or picture boxes. How will i go about doing this?
View 6 RepliesI have two custom action listers. One that handles Mouse.Click and one that handles Mouse.MouseDown. My question to you is, can I delay the mouse down event so that it does not intefere with the code of the Mouse.Click event? I have tried adding a timer and waiting x amount then setting a bool value to true, but the code executes to fast and it skips the other code.

Why Mouse Click is not triggered? Similiarly I Did the same for Mouse Enter and Mouse Move for a particular button, in this case both the events are triggered.
View 2 Repliesi have been working with a friend on a tower defence game in visual basic 2010, we have made 32X32 picture boxes to act as tiles and we want it so if you press a button then a picture box it will build a tower in that picture box.we need this to be done within a single sub though cause there are about 500 picture boxes and its would be very impractical to make a mouse click sub for each of them. this is the code for the sub i have now:

After the user finishes with the formatting, I want to give the user an option to print the work.But its the work is not done on the Rich Text Box but on picture boxes. I am not even sure, how many of the picture boxes would be there after the user finishes the job, since I have provided option for dynamically creating picture boxes as well.

View 3 RepliesIn my project's Main form I have a picture box of size 1024*1024 which occupies almost 75% of my monitor screen. Now I have defined Picture box Mouse movement event with corresponding actions to be done for mouse mouse event over picture box. Now the problem is I have another button on my main form by pressing which an another form of size 520*170 pops up. I have set Me.Topmost property to this form. But even then if by I hover the mouse over picture box, this pop up form disappears (i.e. goes to back screen) and if at all i have to perform any action on this form I need click the Tab of the popped window on the task bar which makes this form visible. Worst case is if the user drags this form on top of the picture box and looses focus, then its impossible to get it(focus) back.

The converted code will then be slightly altered to facilitate its incorporation into a larger project that I'm developing in VB 2008. After using the conversion wizard (which is actually written for VB 6.0), I have 49 unresolved issues -- less than I expected. Much has changed since the days of my prowess as a programmer (Fortran in the 70's), so working my way through even as few as 49 issues will be a challenge, and will (no doubt) take me a while.
The UI for the VB 5.0 code I'm converting is a "virtual remote," with control buttons that (when clicked) trigger communication to a USB-connected device. With assistance, I've been able to develop my own "virtual remote," contained within my VB 2008 project. Eventually, I will "substitute" mine for the original. For now, though, I'm wanting to use MY "virtual remote" to trigger the original.
I have the executable for the VB 5.0 program, and can run it simultaneously with my "under-development" VB 2008 code. Problem is: I don't know how to cause a "click" on MY virtual remote to trigger a click on the original virtual remote (which is being "monitored" by the other program).

View 9 RepliesFirst, I launch a website in Internet Explorer from VB.net and automatically login the user with ther username and password. As soon as the username and password fields are automated, I send "enter" to the website so it goes to the next website. This part works perfectly. However, my problem is that i want to send a mouse click event, which i have already written, to click a hyperlink on the next website page. I tried a few different things, none of which worked. My program is automatically logging in the user and doing the mouse click event at the same time. I have tried to use the "sleep" command, but the mouse click event is still not executing after the second webpage loads. I have tried using nesting "If, then" statements and that has not worked either. Does anyone know how to make sure the webpage fully loads before executing a sendkeys routine or a mouse click event? This is my code thus far:

There are no errors, everything is just executing all at once instead of letting the second webpage load and then executing the mouse click event.

I have VS 2008 and use VB, not C#/C++ or whatever else. I'm trying to make a battleship game, and I've decided to use the only method I can think of to control the grid. A 2D boolean array for position marking. I have the array set up, and the grid set up in the design form, but I can't figure out with all my research how to link them together. I'm writing this program to shake off the rust before school starts again, and for fun. I took VB in school last year, a half year class, so I have a foundation, now I'm self-educating myself above and beyond the class. I've searched for a way to use a picture box array to use the coordinates of the ship to .Visible=True the picture boxes. I've been working on this for 2 days straight with no results. I just need a little nudge in the right direction. The exception I've been getting with my latest concoction of code is NullReferenceException was Unhandled. I think its referring to the fact that I have no idea how to link the picture boxes into the array. Here's my code, and I'll comment where the exception is thrown:
