In the first loop once it cycles through once it does not reset the data so it continues to hold the previous data so therefore the outcome is incorrect. Can I reset it to start back at 0?

The following loop starts in x then loops thru y 20 times then goes back and finishes x. how do I get it to loop thru x then complete loop y then loop x once more then loop y completely again 20 times then back to x and another 20 ys. there should be 200 loops today.

Okay my assignment is to change a code up using two functions instead of a subprocedure to calculate total rainfall and avedrage rainfall and then to add a startover button to the application which not only clears all the labels but also clears the counter and accumulator. This is what I have gotten so far my functions do not work and I can get the labels cleared. I just can't get the counter and accumulator to reset back to zero

When I create a new data, key-ing in all details and for date as well. So when I click on the button Edit. Yes I can perform the edit function, I can edit everything. Then, once I click on Save, yes it Saved. But problem here in the date all goes back "1900-01-01".

how many times is the loop executed? what is the value of i after the code is executed? if x and y are dimensioned as dim x(10),y(10,2) as integer, what would happen in the code? what would happen in the code if the first statement was for i = 14 to 12 step 4?
I dont have a very good background in vb, so hopefully there is a simple way to do this.Basically what we have is a vb timer that is counting time is seconds. After fixed amounts of time, in this case 2 seconds, the if statements trigger certain events. Essentially what I want to do is say: after timer reaches st*2 (18 seconds) then restart the timer at zero. Is there any way to do this?

Here is my case:I have a richtextbox called Rtb1 I have the text property for this control set to "ThreadAmountEdit=[Thread Amount]" This was set through the RichTextBox Tasks function, by clicking the control and selecting the little arrow in the top right corner. In working on my form, I edit the text "[Thread Amount]" of the rich text box to "45". What I need is to be able to reset Rtb1 back to default ("ThreadAmountEdit=[Thread Amount]")on button click.
I've tried: Rtb1.Refresh() which doesn't appear to do anything I've also tried Rtb1.ResetText() which completely clears the textbox.

View 11 RepliesI have this code below that I called a Conversion Wizard Because it converts temperature, weight and currency. It works so far but I am stuck. I don't know how to apply the correct loops to it. For example, Do While and Do Until. I want it to be able to work out a conversion then loop back to the Menu-options. So that you can do as many conversions as you like and end when option 4 is selected.

When I use a For loop in a For loop the Contains Statement dosen't work! Even my custom one! I even tested mine and it works 100% And neither that or the String.Contains function work inside of For Loops And, I know both of them use loops to search through a string.

I am trying to creat a program to automate many of the things I do when I build a computer. I was attempting to do this via batch files but got stuck when I needed to search the registry for cetain keys and delete the parrent folder in which it resides in.
For instance: Installing a MS Loop Back Adapter I found a utility that works at the command promt called DEVCON that will allow me to install a MS Loop Back Adapter. I was doing this through a batch file but found that I can call the utility through VB and get the same result (of course I still need to have the DEVCON.exe)

Ok, so I am building my own program to control a video player I have through telnet, I have everything else working except one thing.I have a reset button to reset the player, when I press it, it sends the string "Reset" and the unit resets without a problem.But when I add a code to close the winsock connection upon reset, it doesn't send the string to the unit. I am sure what is happening is the winsock is getting closed at the exact same time it is trying to send the string and so it fails to send, how do I make it close winsock AFTER the string has been sent? View 2 RepliesI have a search page with a couple of pulldowns. Dependig on the values of them I show a grid matching the searched criteria, basically a table with links the user can navigate to. My problem comes when the user wants to navigate back. At the moment I have a "Back" button which simply redirects the user to the initial search page. I think it would be a good improvement to have the values of the pulldowns filled in with the values the user selected, this way when he presses the "Back" button he would not have to restart the whole search process again.

When the server application sends 2 messages about 16-31 ms apart, the 1st message is received by the client application with little delay (like 16-32 ms after it was sent). But the 2nd message is received by the client application a lot later (like 200 ms later) than when it was sent.
We already disabled Nagle algorithm (set NoDelay = True) in the socket in both the server and client application.
We are having problems with sending back to back emails on one of our web sites. The site is built with .net framework 2.0.We can send the first email without any problems on every try. But to send a second email you need to wait about 20-30 minutes.the problem.One thing we tried was changing the smtp email server. We tried a third party smtp server but the same problem persisted. So I think the problem is not with the smtp server but with our .net code.

I am creating an application that will be faced with multiple decisions to make and I want to know if it is possible to create around 20 if statements to excute or decide between before excuting?
The application will encounter multiple websites but each website will have the same elements but not neccessary in the same order so I was going to tell the app to loop through the IF statement and if the condition is met to run that sub routine where it starts over and loops through the IF statements until next condition is met.
Is this possible in VB.NET or is 20 or so IF statements to many to use at once?[code]...
