May 16, 2010I have an arraylist of a "Doctor" class containing Firstname, Lastname,etc. Some elements in this arraylist may be duplicates of others. I am trying to iterate through the arraylist and search for duplicates. Once i find a duplicate i want BOTH duplicates put into another array and removed from the original array.
here is my function

Jul 11, 2011I have a List Table (lstTable) that is on the same form that I am trying to fill in with information from a public structure (ELEM_DATA). I understand nested with statements will work if it is within the same scope but how can I do this with example 2 below:
Example 1:
With me.lstTable.Items(RECORD)
.SubItems(1).text = ELEM_DATA(RECORD).name
.SubItems(2).text = ELEM_DATA(RECORD).number

I didnt know if it is possible or if it would be as simple as changing (.name) to something else.
Copy The List Of Principal User To Arraylist To Use Arraylist.indexof?
Dec 1, 2011What I am doing is iterating through all the groups that belong to the top group (Generic reports). Then I take advantage of the GroupPrincipal.GetMembers(True) which will recurse through a given group name. I test to see if the user exits under that group and if true I put the group name in an arraylist.
I use the for each principal in GroupPrincipal.GetMembers to loop through each returned user to see if they exist.
Is there a way to put all the returned users Principal.Name from a given group in GroupPrincipal.GetMembers into an ArrayList? This would allow me to to use Arraylist1.IndexOf to search for user. Which would be much faster then iterating through a returned list using the for each construct.

Sep 21, 2010What I need to do is read an ArrayList in My.Settings and add another ArrayList to it. The first think I'm trying to do is load My.Settings.Records into myArrayList. I'm not quite sure on the proper way to do this. I've tried things such as Dim myArrayList As ArrayList = My.Settings.Records, I'm not sure if I need New and I'm not sure if I need .Clone or .CopyTo.
Then I have another ArrayList myArrayList2. To get this into myArrayList I've done: [Code] Then to save it back to My.Settings I've done. My.Settings.Records = myArrayList. The problem is I keep on getting Object reference not set to an instance of an object error on the AddRange line. My.Settings.Records is definitely an ArrayList and it will sometimes = Nothing. The objects will only ever be strings.

Jan 4, 2011I'm making a timer program, that I want to be able to store "unlimited" timer profiles, that someone can load and use. Now I've created a form that you fill with data, which then gets saved to a .xml file in a pre-defined directory. I'm now working on some sort of code that will:
1. Search the directory for .xml files
2. Find any .xml files and convert names to strings
3. Store the strings in a dropdown menu, so that when one is chosen, it loads that profile.
I think I have 1 down:

1)Automatically log into the website
2)Read and parse the data
3)Place in correct category?
Is there anything special I would need to do when handling the login/password or should I just do this manually?I'm assuming that is how popular prgrams like Quicken do it.
