I have been converting my VB6 programmes to VB 2008. many of the problems that came up I have been able to solve; mostly by trial and error. However, I have one problem that was easy to handle in VB6, but I dont see how to do it in VB 2008. I have checked Google, but didnt find anything exactly similar to what I want to do.
On my form in VB6 I added two text boxes, each with its own name. I then copied these two and pasted them back onto the form, under the original textboxes, 5 times. Each time I was asked whether I was creating an array; I confirmed that I was.
I could then code as follows:
For x = 1 To 6
BidderName(x) = txtBidderName(x)
BidderCommunity(x) = txtBidderCommunity(x)
[Code]....
I tried to do the same thing on my VB 2008 form, but it does not ask whether I was creating an array, and in fact the array of textboxes on the form, is not an array!
how I get around this. The form has to show an array of textboxes, which are entered in order.

I am currently have two independent VB programs running. How is the easiest way of passing messes from one programme to another.
I am unsure, but I assume that you have to use some memory addressing of some kind but I am unsure if this is the correct approach ?

I need to print multiple existing files, PDFs. I have the following

Is there another 'better' way of doing this? Sometimes it just doesn't print the PDF, I guess because it's taking longer than the WaitForExit time. And so closes the process.

I have a project that as a standalone runs perfectly. There are a number of routines, forms etc. that I want to incorporate into another solution that I have created. Each time I try, it will load in the new project, but if I try to access anything by clicking on it, one of two things happens, either VS crashes and then restarts OR I get 100+ designer errors thrown.

I have an MDI window with multiple child forms. The user can hide or display child windows by checking/unchecking in a View menu on the main form, calling on either the Show or Hide methods for that form. Each time I call the show method do I also have to specify myForm.MdiParent = Me, or do I only have to specify that once, ie does vb remember that the form will always be a child? it doesnt appear to be a form property any more (from vb6).Second question relates to forms themselves. If I have created a form at design time, is it more efficient to create an instance of that form using New, or simply show the form as it is by just loading it.What are the pros or cons, memory and speed wise? In my case I will never need more than one copy of that form to appear, I'm using VB2005.

I am trying to use VB 2005 SendKeys.send to fill in fields in a pdf form in a browser (at an online website). The code below works correctly sending keys to Notepad or WordPad, but when I use it to send keysto pages in IE7 or Firefox or even ActiveState Komodo editor I get more than one character and the numberof repeats is variable. For example, if I send "ABC" to a Google page I get AAAAAABBBBC.I have the same problem if I send "^v" to paste from the clipboard - I get multiple pastes.I set my keyboard repeat function to a long delay which did not affect the results.

I would like to have one Window (without child-windows) that can have multiple content-sets.For example: I want to have a set of lables and textboxes to save information for an object (like a person). This person has several sub-items. I want to have a set of lables and textboxes for these sub-items in my mainform too. But I don't want the lables- and textboxes-set of these two objects to be both visible at the same time.

Maximized Window Size - For Multiple Users (Computers/Monitors)

Say you have a form that is designed to be maximized on startup. Now, on the programmer's computer (mine), it looks good. But going from user to user, the dimensions of monitors, as well as the resolution each user has on their computer/monitor will vary. Here is the question: If you want to have an application designed to be in a maximized window, how do you ensure that it looks the same on each and every computer/monitor that will be using it. Controls, and everything else that would normally be on the form.

I have to make some automatization on a web server, I use Visual Studio 2005 Visual Basic Windows Console Application. I want to make a load/performance test of the web server, so I open several Internet Explorer instances, and I login the application, that is not a problem. But after that I have a mess on the page and I cannot make any more automatization...The composition of the page after the login is like this: I have the default form, another form and a multiple data window(mdw) controller, which dinamically can switches the forms on this part.
The problem is that I don't know how to access the controls of this mdw forms. I couldn't find much about this mdw controller and I am not an expert.
My code is here:

Imports System.Diagnostics
Imports System.Web.Ui.Webcontrols

VB express 2008 .net 3.5 or .net 4.0 VB express 2010?I have written application to convert RTF to HTML. The main Purpose of the application is to copy VS code to the clipboard and covert it then put it back into the clipboard as a HTML Document so that it can be pasted into a HTML document such as Windows Live Mail. I found that code copied and pasted is spaced out in in the wrong positions.
The applications works perfect with no bugs so far. I then asked Myself how to go about doing the copy with the least amount of operator interaction. So I added an Icon to the Icon Tray with a right click menu to use to convert once the Rich Text Format was copied to the clipboard. This works fine except you have Five steps, Select the text, Copy to clipboard, Right Click the icon, Select the Converter and Paste. The normal is three steps.
To this the best solution is to add a context menu item to the active form such as the RTF editor or window. So that when you select the Rich Text to copy and right click on the form to bring up that menu then to Just Select the menu Item such as "Copy RT and Convert" I searched and found about 544000 Items and tried to restrict down to no avail. I read until I finally gave up. I did not find any code examples of this. Almost every thing I found related to the web or some other explicit document like Excel and not to the Various windows that could be active with RT in it.
how do you add a context menu item to the context menu of an active rich text format window such as WordPad or VB?I have test in my application that tests to see if it is a RTF in the clipboard so if it is not the converter does nothing.

I have looking for a tutorial or class that demonstrates more than a trivial example of saving a windows position on closing. The ones I have found don't seem to work on all systems because of:
1. Multiple monitors. (and resolution between those monitors)
2. Toolbar size and position (toolbar is only on the primary monitor, well sometimes)
3. Sometimes the programs dont open on the right monitor they were closed on.
Is there an extensive class or tutorial on all the stuff a programmer needs to get right to have a window size and position persisted between executions?

I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.
Dim hwnd As IntPtr = FindWindow(Nothing, "User Account Control")
Dim hwnd2 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd, 0, "DirectUIHWND", vbNullString)
Dim hwnd3 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd2, 0, "CtrlNotifySink", vbNullString)
Dim hwnd4 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd3, 0, "Button", "&Yes")
There are multiple CtrNotifySink with its own Button child window or other child windows. How do i search thru the different CtrNotifySink window to find the one that contain the Yes button so i can send a click to it? I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?

I have a VB.NET application that uses Managed DirectSound to capture audio.Everything works just fine until (a) the application is minimized or (b) the application is completey obstructed (covered) by another window.
The thing is that the CaptureBufferDescription structure does not include a GlobalFocus property so I don't know what to do to let my application continue capturing when the main window is hidden.
Here's the basic initialization code I'm using:
' Create a buffer description object

border of that said window so the only place the mouse can't click the titlebar and the minimize, restore, and maximize button. The height of the titlebar depends on what OS the user is using so I'm having trouble because I can't give a definite value for this. How do I detect the height. and also for border i'm not sure if the borders have different widths with different operating systems. I'm using windows XP on classic mode, when I change to the themed mode, the height of the title bar changes so it won't work.
