RunWorkerAsync... Then Long Delay Before BackGroundWorker Starts?

I am having a problem with an application which uses a couple of classes inheriting from background workers.One is used to write data to a database and the second is used to determine when the connection can be established again should the connection be lost.t all works fine most of the time on my machine apart from one occasion when I experienced the problem described below.But I've not been able to replicate that since then.The class which writes to the database contains a queue (a list)When adding an item to the database the planned course of events is:1 An item is added to the QueuedItems list.2. If the background worker is not busy then RunWorkerAsync is called to start it.
