A) use datareader and open new connection to the database on every client query.
B) load all the needed tables into dataset once the program loaded and use that dataset for the query's?

But how do i go about writing a program with 1 client and server where the client side creates a text file.Once the server sees there is a text file it connects and downloads it to itself or the client pushes the text file to the server.Once on the server i will read the text file and put its info into a sql db.

When I run the Java version of this using apache commons and the same setting, the email is sent. However, when I run the VB.NET version of the code, it fails on my local machine and on the client machine.
I have a VB.NET web application running on a server that uses similar code. I tried that code locally and it fails. Yet, the web application is working perfectly.
Why is it that the Java application can send the email, but the .NET application cannot?[code]....

Now im talking the server, after the client clicks disconnect or closes by task manager, looses connection, etc the server crashes and gives me.
the schema is created using VS, but when I try creating the schema using XSD.exe, the validation works, am I missing something here, like namespace or anything?

I have an imported sql database using pa as the schema instead of the default dboThe problem is when I go into vs 2008 and create a gridview control, it won't recognize the from table object. I get "invalid object name" unless I go directly into the code and put the database name and schema name in front of it.

I am trying desperately to add a database using the wizard, and it lets me go through with it, testing the connection is good, but when I try to finish it gives me an error: "<customers>Could not retrieve schema information for table or view customers." I have an .XSD that is made from a class so that I can pass to a webservice. It got it over to the webservice as an XMLSchema object and now I need to make it into a class so that I can make objects out of it on the webservice side. I know that XSD.exe is the answer but I'll be darned if I can puzzle out exactly how to implement this thing. I need it to do this conversion at run time so I need to put the code for it into my project and all the references I've seen to using XSD.exe talk about calling it from the command line.

I import a XML to a Dataset and works fine, import XML with Schema and fine to, but for any estrange reason the primary key that is in the XSD don't appears in the Dataset.

There is an old timesheet application being used in my company and i am going to rewrite it in asp.net.There are other tables which can be linked to new Timesheet table like employee table but my main concern here is the Project and Project_Activity table.In the current system, there is a one project and a activity table which are linked to the timesheet table seperatly and user has to spend alot of time on selecting activities code they worked on for specific project.I have came up with the new idea; Project manager will have to fill up a project template and link all the activities code with the one project before starting this project. This way user will have to select the project only and it will automatically bring the associate codes for them.I like to know if this design will work okay? and is it okay to link Project_Activity table with timesheet?
