View 6 RepliesI am using the following code to send an email through Outlook, but I want the email to be saved in a predefined directory. Under the Sent Items folder I have a sub folder called "Simon". What I want is when the email is sent for the email to be saved here.I have tried using the following code, but it appears that it does not use string values to specify the folder location but a value. I am unable to determine what value the "Sent Items\Simon" folder is.
MailFolder = tempNS.GetDefaultFolder(Outlook.OlDefaultFolders.olFolderSentMail & "\Simon")
Dim tempNS As Outlook.NameSpace
Dim MailFolder As Outlook.MAPIFolder

View 5 RepliesIs there anyway to save a thumbnail of an image, then save it so that, when viewed through My Computer, the thumbnail is displayed for the file. Basically, what I mean is to do something similar to the way you can see a preview of a pdf file, or Microsoft Word file, or Microsoft Expression Design file. I want to be able to open the file's containing folder, then switch to thumbnail view, and the thumbnail will be displayed as the image for the file.

I need to save the form settings, like a save state of the form. Because the program allows the user to add controls. I would like to be able to save them and load them. BTW: The controls are Panels and Labels. BUT! The Panels are a modified version of the control, known as NewComp. This simply allows the user to drag the panel around the form.
View 11 RepliesI'm trying to do the following I'm not sure if it's possible using VB.NET. I want to specify default saving point for all files type for example: In my program you choose the path "C:UsersMarkusPictures" for pictures and everytime you download pictures files from website, or using skype or any other program when Save File Dialog opens up (external one not via my program or connected to vb.net just the windows default one) then it will show "C:UsersMarkusPictures" always for .jpg .gif type of files etc...
View 2 RepliesI have one listbox an import button and a save button. Basically the import button allows the user to select photos and he list box then shows the directory for them. Is there a way to save the image that has been selected to a different place? whilst at he same time changeing the file name.e.g. the list box would have the directory like this "c:documentspicturesimage1.jpg" I would then like to save this file like such "c:desktop est103.jpg"
View 1 Repliesi've been busy with a program and it has worked out quite well. The only thing I still want is that it is possible to customize things and save that in a text file. Normally if i want an other background for one day, i need to change it in VB or make a checkbox to do that. if i then restart the program all the settings are lost and i have to set it again. so i was wondering if the program can make a text file and put codes like 1 for theme 1 and 2 for theme 2 etc. in it, then save it and load that file when it starts up again. and is this also possible for a login form? if yes, i can also add a "Create Account" button for my program instead of adding codes in VB.

1.) I dragged my detail view over to the form window to create a bindingnavigator, fields, etc.When I press save on the form, the database is temporairly saved.However, if I save my visual basic project, I lose all the changes I have made to my database.Is there a specific save command that updates the access file permanently?The default command added by dragging over the dataset does not work.
2. My database is accessed with the following string:[code]However, doesn't this mean that the database MUST be placed in that specific folder on any PC? Is there a way to simply build the database into the compile so the program automatically generates the database when installed on anyones computer?
3.) This might be fixed by fixing the previous two issues, but if I compile my program and try to install it, I get an error message "Could not download the application.The application is missing required files."
How I can save a text in visual basic in a word file with specific format like font size or color or other format??

how to get the form to save some data, but the problem is I only know how to get it to save as the body. since the main parts of the program are third party, but here is the code I'm using to save data.
Private Sub Initialize()
' cmbLabel shows group(student) level
cmbLabel.DataSource = _schedule.DataStorage.LabelStorage.Labels
[Code]....
Since I have them all saving to the "body", whatever the last box is in the code is what shows for all three once I click save.
I need to make a save button. The user will work in main form. User also has Settings in the MenuStrip, when the user clicks Settings a new form will open. There user has ability to make changes that will affect the Main form. This is the code:
If CheckBox1.Checked = True Then
bib.Panel2.Hide()
End If
This is the change that the user will be able to do that will affect the Main form, but I'm not really sure how to make that the CheckBox1 will be saved when the user clicks it and the clicks OK button. I also want to know how to make a cancel button.

What I need is a code that can read from database (*.accdb). Form example if I select LG from Form4, it should read from a table from the database the price of
the LG, then we press "save", then should return to the Main Menu, then we select, for example, Scanners from the Main Menu that will take us to Form5. There we select, for example 24", that should take the price again from the data base and
add it, after save, to our first LG price, and return back to the Main Menu, and so on. The total price should appear in a new form, form7, after clicking (Total Price).
How I can cancel a specific form by clicking (Cancel) and how to exit.

View 5 RepliesThis may sound silly but is it possible to run a separate exe and call a specific form to load?
For example:
Let's say I have two exes one that checks licensing and then once that is done it calls another separate exe to load a specific form based on the type of license selected?
It sounds doable but can anyone share a snip it of code that may do the trick?
