How would you go about searching a webbrowser for a line containing a string? Here is my code so far:
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim url As String
WebBrowser1.Navigate(txt_url.text)
[Code] .....
In this code, I would like to search for the first instance of "RichTextBox.AppendText" and put that into a string. I have also found when browsing in the webbrowser if you can across a download, and you just want to download it to a default directory without the open, save, cancel dialog box coming up. How would you go about doing this, if it is possible?
I would like to read an HTML file, search each line to see if it starts with </head>. Then add the centering code after it. That line at destination file should read: </head><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" width="760"align="center"><tr><td> After this I don't care to search for anything. Just read from source and write to destination. I know there are programs out there to find/replace text in series of files but I am not allowed to use external programs.
I just joined this forum as I've been looking for a nice and serious VB forum for a long time
I'm having troubles making a program to search a text file line by line for a specific string.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim objReader As New System.IO.StreamReader("C: est.txt")
[Code]...
as you can see in the code its supposed to read a text file and if the line contains the same string as in the textbox then its gonna make a messagebox.
now the problem, if the line does not contain the specific string but the next or any line other line does, then it should automatically read the next line on "Else" and that's where I'm lost
for a "Readnextline" command or something like that?
I'm having trouble with reading a .txt file line by line, converting it into a string, then putting it into a listbox. When I execute I get an error saying "IndexOutOfRangeException was unhandled" Here is my

For the simple web browser I am creating I would like to have a combobox displaying different search engines and a button that would take the user to the selected search engine's website address.
Here is the code to load the search engine options: vb.net Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load ComboBox2.Items.AddRange({"Google", "DuckDuckGo", "Mahalo", "Ask"}) ComboBox2.SelectedIndex = 0 End Sub
I'm creating a web browser and would like to have autofill-type functionality, can anyone tell me how to discover all text boxes on a page and what their names are?
I've noticed in most web browsers that you can search the internet through a text box, like in internet explorer you can type Microsoft.com and it googles it. How can you do that in vb.net
I'm importing a text file of 42 lines, each containing 11 segments to be read. This is then split and put in an array. This is all displayed in TextBox1 for check purposes only.Next I'd like to search the array(0) of each line, and when the searched for text (search) is found, take the (1) (2) etc of that line to store in another variable which will be used for calculations later on in the program.I'll admit my head is now a Do Until = Crazy ! Loop I can't seem to get my head around the syntax and logic. How do I get a search function to check each line until the right text is found, pass the variables on that i need and exit that routine ?
My code up to now:
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim objStreamReader As StreamReader
I have a string that contains many lines. It is someething like:
I want to be a millionaire.
I need to read this string line by line, that is to assign line 1 of the string to a certain variable, line 2 to another, and so on.Do you know how that can be done?
I am trying to run a search query at wordpress via a webbrowser control, when I enter the search query in any browser it works fine, however when I try the same thing with the webbrowser control in VB the search does not work.
I'm making a (F1) part for my application. I made a form with a Webbrowser-control and I made several .html files. Now I would like that the users enter a keyword and that they see all the files where that keyword is found in the metatag <keyword>. What is the best (and fastest) way to search for that?
I have built a webcrawler where I use a webbrowser control for a user to enter a url and perform a search. Once the page is uploaded, my app grabs the HTMl and then with a button click convert it into plain text by using html agility pack (HAP). Finally by clicking a button I store the result inside a sql server database.
Now I want to use a background search system using the above control to perform the task which I am not able to figure out Basically say If I have a textbox where I enter the URL and it grabs the HTML then using HAP I have convert it into plain text and store it inside a database. Here is my code class for the normal search I carry out:
I'm trying to retrieve some values from my website and put them in a variable or textbox. The source on the website always looks like this: [Code]. I only want to retrieve the first line though (the rest is some stuff my webhost automatically generates). [Code]. But this doesn't work properly :S In above example it would return the whole string, except the last two characters. What do I need to alter to make it work correctly?
I have written a program that uses an array of the english alphabet and Morse code. I also built a form with a input box for the alphabetic information and an output box with the Morse Code. What i am trying to do is basically type a word like "Hi" in the input box and produce the Morse Code equivalent in the Morse Code output box. [Code] This works but only one letter at a time. Do i need to Parse the string of characters one at a time, and then run it through a loop like i have created?
What I am trying to do here is search a multi-line textbox that contains the source of a particular website.what I would like is something like this but i do not know how to right it like i need
Dim MyString, FirstWord, LastWord, MidWords As String MyString = "Mid Function Demo" ' would be the textbox FirstWord = Mid(MyString, 1, 3) ' Returns "Mid". LastWord = Mid(MyString, 14, 4) ' Returns "Demo". MidWords = Mid(MyString, 5) ' Returns "Function Demo".
this function works fine only when you define len.what I need is a function that will do something like this, "note obviously interpreted code"
Dim text, A,B,C as string text = textbox1 A = "<body>" B = "information between A and C being of variable len" C = "</body>" textbox2 = B
I'm new here, but have been in and out for a while. Past threads have been helping me along thus far.
I'm currently developing an app which essentially needs a way for me to search in a text box or file for a specific string, and extract the line on which that string appears on. It will be unique, and the syntax is the same on each line. It has basically 2 ID numbers, and is laid out like this: 123456|123456
So, I'd need to search for the first part before the |, and then get the line so I can get the bit after the |, which is the important bit for me.
