May 22, 2012I am developing a program that makes it easier for users to log on to a website and search for specific data. I have the first portion finished in which I have a form with the Ax Web Browser control.
The web browser control navigates to a local website and automatically logs in for the end user. This is done by using code which automatically fills in the username and password and then submits the form to logon using something similar to this: WebBrowser1.Document.Forms.Item(, 0).elements("txtUsername").value = "user"
Once logged on - there is a search page which contains a combo box and list box. I am trying to set specific values for the combo box and list boxes.For example - the combo box on the website is titled: cbxDate and contains the following values: Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month.
A list box titled: lstArea contains the following values: Zone A, Zone B, Zone C, All.I am trying to figure out if there is a way through code to select, in this example, "Yesterday" in the cbxDate and "Zone B" in the lstArea on the webpage.If anyone knows of a solution, please feel free to let me know. Be advised that I am using the Ax Web Browser Control.

Feb 24, 2011I have a school project i am working on wich i am to build a program that randomly generates 500 alpha-numeric numbers (license plate numbers). the program needs to be able to search the 500 numbers and based on given criteria (a text box) that you put in return the matching results to another listbox. I got the 500 plate numbers to generate on form load but have been searching thru my textbook and cant seem to figure out how to take the imput from the text box and search the list box. Not asking for a ton of help but just a point in the right direction. i attached the assignment i was given from instructor.

Program That Will Compare Array Of Grocery List Items Glist And Array Of Coupon Item List
May 27, 2012I have a program that will compare an array of grocery list items glist and an array of coupon item clist.When I compare the two and if there is a match somewhere in the array I want to have a picturebox visible.When there is no match, I want the picture box not to be visible. [code] The code seems to work great until I come to the else statement.When the code finds a match it displays the picture box and the msgbox without error, but as soon as the message box is cleared, even though i've input it as an ELSE statement, the picturebox goes false again.Does anyone have any idea of how I can "hold" the picturebox to stay visible while the match between the arrays exists?

Placing Selected/unselected Items In Checked List Box Into List Boxes?
Mar 16, 2011This program is supposed to allow the user to check items in a checked list box. If the item is checked, it goes into the Completed List Box on the right. The program then adds the unchecked items to the Pending list box on the left. I keep getting placement values (e.g. O,1,2) instead of the strings (e.g. "Key Returned") in the list box results (see photo attached)

Searching In An Array
Feb 15, 2012I am learning about the search capability in an array. I wrote a code that stores three names (first & last) and I want to:
- Make the user select a number (from 1-3) by using a (combobox)
- If the user select the proper number then a message will appear that the name is there.
- If not then an error message will appear.
I did all I could by creating this but my main problem is in the (ButtonFind). I went through lots of tutorials and this is what I came up with and I hope that my code is correct.[code]

May 14, 2009I have been reading extensively about searching generic lists in VB.NET with the usage of delegates.However, I still cannot seem to grasp how to achieve what I want to, which I believe is frustratingly simple! I have a list populated with instances of an object with three parameters (fields/ variables).When I receive a new object to add to the list I want to search the list for the "layer" field.If the field matches then I will replace that row (object) in the list with the new object, if no match is found then I will add it to the list. Mar 21, 2011My problem is probably something simple..I am trying to load a list of a perticularcustomer.I will have to load the list of all the purchases they have make (amount of tickets purchased (rseat). It runs fine, but when I change the file name from fri to saturday and keep the call name the same it still searches to the name that is in the call name textbox. I dont want it to do that. I want it to say the there are no reservation for that name if I change the file.here is part of my code.

Feb 12, 2010I want to use a System.Collections.Generic.List<Of T> and store custom objects in the list. I then want to filter the list by my own custom defined criteria and return a System.Collections.Generic.List<Of T> of all the objects in the list matching my search criteria. For searching in Java, you would create an object that implements the comparator interface. The object would then be passed as an argument to the list's sort method. Is there an equivalent VB way to do this BUT when searching for items in the list?I have looked at using delegate functions, but these pass EVERY item of the collection into the function, which is not efficient in any way.

May 8, 2009I want a form to search a directory (which i specify in the code) and then list all files with a file exstension that is .amxx .And that's not all, it should list them in a checked listbox.And of course a little + is that it only list the name of the file, not the hole directory + filename. I want to search a list for a given string, and if it matches, then print it out. If it doesnt match, then it moves to the next item in the list. If if doesnt find any matches, it says "no matches found".

Dec 10, 2008Say I have an array of doubles sorted from smallest to largest. What is the FASTEST way to find the closest value in the array that is LARGER/SMALLER than the search value if an identical value is not found.

'LARGER AND SMALLER SEARCH for 3 should obviously return 3 because its in the array.
'LARGER SEARCH for 2.46 should return 3 because it is the closest LARGER value

I certainly can do this on my own, but I am looking for the fastest way.
Searching Byte Array For Existence Of Another One?
Apr 2, 2009I need to search a Byte array for the existence of another Byte array. The first array is large, about 30,000 bytes and the second varies but is usually between 300 and 500 bytes. I need to know the start position of the second array inside the first. For example if these were the arrays:

I could even do multiple if's like if I find the first byte then find the second, then find the third, and make it a little more bearable but still. i cant find a fast method to do so :S
i tried using a string array (slower than list) takes ~15mins
i tried using list with the code below takes ~10 mins
that wont cut it :S i need something faster.
