I am trying to make an Image wrapper class or something. The reason for this is that I need to output a bunch of images only, without pictureboxes. I don't want an imagelist, because I need the images along with their associated image properties which an imagelist cannot provide. I ended up with this :

I am trying to control the Stretch property of an Image object in VB (using Visual Studio 2008 if it matters.)Is there a way to do this with VB code?I have added the Presentation Framework reference to the project.I can create a variable to point to an image using dim imgName as Image = Image.fromfile("filename.jpg").After I declare the variable, I can imgName. and get a whole list of properties, but Stretch isn't there.

I'm trying to make a program where I draw an image from a SpriteID. The way I usually do this with a method is by doing this:PictureBox1.Image - Util.SpriteReader.GetSpriteImage(2334)
This works fine, but I need to make it work through a Bindingsource and my class. So the Bindingsource is setup, everything is working but the image part. I set the "Image" in the DataBinding of the picturebox to my "Image" property... Heres my properties
Public _ItemID As Integer
Public _Image as Image
Public Property ItemID() As Integer
[Code]...

I'm trying use just a user control form to act like the old VB6 picturebox. Mainly, i'm doing this is because a user control form is also a container but i also want it to have an image property. I've done this. The new control does have an Image property but the problem is that the user control form doesn't have an image property but only a BackgroundImage property.I was hoping that there is some way to place the selected image, directly on the surface of the user control and not to it's BackgroundImage property. Here is what is got so far:
Code:
Public Property Image As System.Drawing.Image
Get
Return Me.BackgroundImage
End Get
[code]....
As you can see, for now, i have to use the BackgroundImage property but i want to image to be placed on the controls surface, so that the image can be manipulated, like drawing game tiles on it or image processing. The user control doesn't have a real image property?

I am just wondering what was the use of tag property in VB.Net....
I am planning to make a system wherein i can add tags to images so that if i search in my computer, all images tagged in same keywords will be displayed..
For example i open an image to my system, and it's file name was "WhiteHouse.jpg" and i added or tagged it as "Building". Once i search on my computer, and type the word/keyword "Building", the image "WhiteHouse.jpg" will be displayed on search results as i tagged it on my system.
if the TAG PROPERTY in VB.Net can make this thing., How can i save the images together with this tags?

I am in the process of creating a relatively simple "yahtzee" game for a final class project. I have a "Roll the dice" button on my form that when clicked chooses 4 random numbers 1-6. Each number is a seperate "dice", each of the 4 pictureBoxes is meant to represent a seperate dice. A series of If then statements is being used for each picture box so that for example The random number is 1, a image of a dice facing the 1 side is displayed.[code]...

I added 7 bmp files in the Resources tab of the Project Properties I have 7 PictureBox controls, for each control I set the Image property to a certain bmp saved in the Resource section.Everything was fine, however all of a sudden I got this warning message for each PictureBox
"The type 'My.Resources.Resources' has no property named 'lla_nodev'."lla_nodev represents the "lla_nodev.bmp" file I added in the Resource The worst thing is that the Form is unabel to load in the designer view, so cannot I modify it. The application is able to run though,with apparantely no problems in run time.

I am getting a "Parameter is not valid " error when reading a value from an Image property and I don't know why.
Writing to the property works just fine (MyControl.EditImage = PictureBox1.Image) .
Reading from the property causes an error (PictureBox1.Image = MyControl.EditImage )
The Property looks like:
Private mNewImage As Image
Public Property EditImage() As Image
Get

I am writing a VB 2008 Express Edition application which has multiple forms. All of the forms contain one or more PictureBox controls. All PictureBox controls have assigned bitmaps via Image property during development mode. So far, all the bitmaps displayed during runtime without a slightest problem. Now, suddenly, not a single new one (i.e. which I add from this moment on) would display bitmap during runtime. All the old ones (i.e. those which I have added up to that unspecified point in time when something went wrong) still display bitmaps fine as they did before. But any newly added PictureBox (or, come to that, any other control which can display bitmap.
I have tried also Label control) displays the bitmap loaded via Image property only during development mode. During runtime the PictureBox shows as empty. I tried to load the bitmap during runtime via command Image.FromFile and that works fine (but I don't want to use this approach in my program). If I create a completely new application, all PictureBox controls display the bitmaps just fine. I don't get any errors or warnings in VB editor. I reinstalled the whole VB 2008 Express Edition including SP1 and .NET 3.5 SP1 with no difference whatsoever (as would be expected as any new application works with PictureBox controls fine).

I'm having some very weird issues with interfaces right now.
I have a very simple setup. In one of my class, I have a Property implementing a Property from an Interface.
In my class it's like:
Private _oForm As IForm
Public Property Form As IForm Implements IContainer.Form
Set(value As IForm)
[Code]...
I have like dozens of interfaces like this working throughout my project and I can't believe this simple one can't work!

Is there a way for implementers of an interface where a ReadOnly property is defined to make it a complete Read/Write Property ?
Imagine I define an interface to provide a ReadOnly Property (i.e., just a getter for a given value) :
Interface SomeInterface
'the interface only say that implementers must provide a value for reading
ReadOnly Property PublicProperty As String
End Interface
This means implementers must commit to providing a value. But I would like a given implementer to also allow setting that value. In my head, this would mean providing the Property's setter as part of the implementation, doing something like this :
Public Property PublicProperty As String Implements SomeInterface.PublicProperty
Get
Return _myProperty
[code]....

I searched on the forum / Internet for the solution how a PropetryInfo object (of a Public property) can reveal if it has a Private Protected Setter ... it was all in vain .... all help I found was about how to "Set" value of a public property having a Private Setter.I would like to know if I have a PropertyInfo object of a public property, how would I know if its Setter is Non Public?
I tried, in a exception handling block, where I did a GetValue of the PropertyInfo object and then called SetValue by setting the same value back... but to my surprise it worked well and didn error out.

I'm having a few problems converting some code into VB.NET from C#. Most of the translating is done, but I am getting errors when I try to run my code, and I can't figure out what is causing them. Here is the Sub I translated.
Public Sub CreateWidget()
Dim blue As LCDColor
blue.Red = 0
blue.Green = 0
[code]....
The error I receive on this line ("vision.Widgets.CreateWidget(wg1)") reads "In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user."

Anyways he used CurLine in the program and when I try to open it in Excel 2007 and then open the Visual Basic Editor and run the program I get the following error:Run-time error '-2147418113 (8000ffff)':Could not get the CurLine property. I have a very simple class that holds a few public properties - ID, Text, Colour, etc. and a Boolean called 'SelectedItem'. Just like the Checked property on RadioButtons, only one item can have its SelectedItem property set to True within a particular group. Note: there will be several separate groups (lists), each allowed to have only one item with SelectedItem = True.
My first thought was that I would probably just have to handle everything outside of the class, setting SelectedItem to False for every other item in a particular list when another item was selected. But that seems rather inelegant to me. So I've been trying to think of how this might be done within the class. For example: could I perhaps have a private string property called say "GroupName" - set in the New sub when adding a new instance of the class - and then use a private shared method to set every item's SelectedItem property to False, provided the item has the same GroupName as the newly selected item? I would have a go at doing this but I have no idea how to enumerate every instance of a class from within that class, or whether that's even possible. Is it? Or is there another (better) way to achieve my goal? Here is a cut-down version of what I've got so far:
Public Class ResourceItem
Public ID As Integer
Public Text As String[code]....
As can be seen: instead of instantiating a new ResourceItem and passing that as an argument to the manager's Add procedure, I'm simply passing the details of the new item and the procedure is creating the item from those. I don't know whether this is a good or bad idea - please advise - but I've done it because I couldn't figure out how to make the SelectedItem property only writeable by the manager, so I wanted to avoid having directly accessible objects that could have their SelectedItem property set to True without it deselecting all the other items in the same group. Of course that still leaves the possibility of setting a variable to one of the manager's list items and setting it from there, so I would still like to know how I could prevent that, if possible.
UPDATE: I didn't use the code above in the end, deciding instead to go with Cyborgx37's solution - which seems to work perfectly well for me despite the warnings about best practice. I also realised I would need to use the same class in another scenario where multiple items could be selected, so it was easy to add a Boolean property to the manager to enable that.
