MainMenu Child Image Property?
Feb 8, 2012Is there a way I can customly add to the MainMenu control to give the child image property like you would see in a menuStrip? Where you can have drop down's with images next to the text?

Showing Properties Of Child Objects In The Property Grid?
Mar 9, 2010I have a custom class (Class1) with a bunch of properties. One of the properties of this class is another custom class (Class2) with its own properties.I have a property grid with the selected object set to Class 1. I can see Class 2 as a property, but i would like to expand Class 2 to show its properties in the same property grid.
Im basically trying to do the exact same thing as the Font Class on a form. If you look at the properties of a form in the designer, you can see the font property. You can then expand that to show the properties of the font class.
Order A Collection Based On A Child Property Using LINQ Or A Lambda?
Jan 26, 2012I get the following string expression provided:"ChildObject.FullName" ...where ChildObject is an instance property on the MyObject1 type.ChildObject has a property named "FullName" and I want to sort a collection of type "MyObject1" based on this child properties "FullName" value.
I can do this all day long on properties directly on MyObject1 but I run into 2 challanges when doing it on a child instance and I can't get all the pieces working. The main 2 challanges are:
MyObject1 has a few different child property types so I can't hardcode the type for ChildObject. The string could be of any type.The sort expression is a String and not a known type.Above the value returned from the last line in the expression (if I run the code outsode the OrderBy method, does provide me the 'FullName' information I need. So the code must be close, but it still does not work.
Any ideas on how I can accomplish this? What I am trying to prevent is hardcoding a series of 'If' blocks on the child's type to then hardcode in its type to the sort or OrderBy method.
Convert A MainMenu To A ContextMenu?
May 17, 2010I am in the process of converting VB6 applications to Dot Net. I am using VS2008 to do the conversion.I need to change some of the converted VB6 menus from MainMenu to ContextMenuStrip. Is there an easier way of doing this then recreating them?

Nov 4, 2011The tables described herein both utilize composite keys. I have a parent table that stores eligibility information per "case". The child table stores eligibility information regarding each individual associated with the case. The child records are differentiated by pin number to make them unique in the child table only.
I am using NHibernate v3.1 with Fluent NHibernate v1.2, both acquired via NuGet packages. The entities are mapped in using the Fluent NHibernate auto-mapper functionality. Any custom mapping is done in the mapping override method for each entity.
Another thing to know is that these tables do not have a "primary key" defined in DB2. They only have "unique keys", which are what you see in the composite key definition below (see code).
T0026_AG_ELIG is the name of the parent table and the corresponding POCO class.
T0265_AG_IN_ELIG is the name of the child table and the corresponding POCO class.
Problem:
The problem is that when I execute the query, all the data is queried, the parent record is successfully mapped to the class, but the returned child rows do not map into the collection on the parent class. NHibernate does generate the queries for the parent and child data. When I execute my own query against the database, the correct data for the conditions does come back. For some reason, the child records are just not being bound to the property on the parent (T0026) class.
Question:
What do I need to do to get the multiple rows coming back from T0265_AG_IN_ELIG to map to their corresponding class and load properly into the specified collection property on the parent class (T0026_AG_ELIG)?

VS 2010 MainMenu Disappears After Editing
Jan 20, 2011In the designer, the MainMenu I have created disappears as soon as I am done editing it. Before, it remained visible and worked as expected. But recently, the MainMenu not only disappears in the designer after editing, but it does not appear in the application.Adding a NEW MainMenu shows up as expected, however alot of work was put into the original MainMenu and its menu items.Is there any way to get MainMenu to act as it should?

Feb 28, 2009I am trying to resolve this error. I have the correct values of the menuitems which is 0 and 1. The integer value of "0" is the menuitems on the mainmenu and the other one is the drop down menu item. I get this weird error as I don't know where the problem are coming from.Here I get the error:

Nov 21, 2011I'm checking If a border's child property is not set to nothing or equal to a given element, but whenever I run the program, it says that it's set to nothing and crashes. Here's my code:

If Me.Child.Equals(value) Then ...
Both gives an error. What should I do to pass these lines? Also in C# it would look like this:
if(this.Child != null) ...
if (this.Child != value) ...
But this time it doesn't give an error.
Getting Parent Form's Property Values In A Child Form
Feb 20, 2012I have a custom form that I use instead of msgbox for a number of reasons. The initial reason was to keep the message centered on it's parent rather than the screen. There are many articles about this but I still have not found an elegant way to get access to the Parent's properties from inside the Child without passing them in (by one way or another).
In the child form the me.parent, me.parentform are not instantiated and apparently can not be used.
The point is to have this form be totally encapsulated with the logic being self contained. This is not an MDI child, and I do not want it to be due to the limitations on MDI children.
My current workaround looks like this I use a ShowMsg Function in my MyMsgBox form which looks like this:

Custom Control Image Property?
Apr 13, 2012I'm trying use just a user control form to act like the old VB6 picturebox. Mainly, i'm doing this is because a user control form is also a container but i also want it to have an image property. I've done this. The new control does have an Image property but the problem is that the user control form doesn't have an image property but only a BackgroundImage property.I was hoping that there is some way to place the selected image, directly on the surface of the user control and not to it's BackgroundImage property. Get Name Of My.Resources Image From BackgroundImage Property
Mar 18, 2012I am using images imported into My.Resources as images for items in my game. Now for the saving procedure I use pnl.BackgroundImage.ToString but that returns System.Drawing.Image. What I'd like to know is how to retrieve the name of the resources object that is the image of the panel.
