My application uses a ListView control to display some data from a database, and I would like to make the height of the row bigger (it is in the 'Detail' view).As you can see the rows are quite slim and rather ugly :P And I can't find a way to change the height of them in the properties for the ListView.[code]Which I can imagine working in .NET (even though it's C#) but it is obviously very very hacky.

Then of course the line psize.height = 200 always aborts because 'Kind is not set to custom'.
For some reason when I place a button on a form and type some text, the text is too big for the button. Descenders are not shown (i.e., the bottoms of g's, p's, q's, etc.). Does anyone know how to modify the default settings of the button, such as the height or font size? Obviously I can change these properties after I place the button on the form, but this gets old. My default font size is 7.8pt San Serif. If possible I would like to increase the default button height and the font size (I like to use bigger text for teaching in class so those in the back of the room can see).

View 3 RepliesMy task for the moment is just to find out what the height of ListView's data row is (not the header--different height). The height of a ListView meant to fit exactly the contents of the list can't be set statically. This is because, when a system uses font scaling, the ListView rows are going to be scaled relative to the scaled font. So, I have to find out what the height of the first row is (since they're all the same height) and then multiply that by the number of items in the list. This should get me an exact fit for the height of the ListView.

View 5 RepliesI'm working on the Inventory section of the project I'm working on. This particular form holds a tab control, by default it has 2 tabs one named General, and the other named "New..". When the user clicks the New tab an input box opens to collect the name for the new Department, it then changes the name of the current "New.." tab, and then adds another tab and names it "New..". This process continues until they reach their limit of departments. The problem is that when the tab gets renamed, a listview control needs to be added into the tab. Adding the new control is simple, but setting it's position as the one in the previous tab has seemed to elude me. This is what I've tried.

I have a problem setting the checked state of checkboxes in a listview programmatically.
Background: I have a Windows Form Application which uses CheckedListBox�s. The names/labels for each CheckBox in the list are imported for a database. Also in the database is a field which defines whether the CheckBox should be Checked or Unchecked. The program works fine.
Problem: My requirement is to add a tooltip to each item in the list of checkboxes. I have read that the best/easiest way to do this is to use a ListView instead of the CheckedListBox. I have setup a ListView with CheckBoxes = True and View = Details. I have populated the ListView with the items from my database. The ListView now looks exactly like the CheckedListBox and the tooltips work fine.
My problem is that I can�t seem to find a way of setting the CheckBox�s to Checked programmatically. Is there a way to do this, or is there a better way of achieving what I am trying to do?
I have a treeview and text box below it... is it easy or even possible to allow a user to change the height of the treeview which will automatically change the height of the textbox so there is no gap between them?ie one gets bigger the other gets smaller etc etc

In our projects we use setting variables to store user setting for the applications. Moreover, with every latest version of the applications, we upgrade these variables to retain user settings.Normally, this works fine, but recently one of my end user reported an error i.e.Configuration System failed to initialize". The error is related to user.config file. Therefore we requested the user to send us his file.After received the folder, we noticed that it contains 3 files (3begfjb.newcfg,3begfjb.tmp and user. config). 3begfjb.tmp is an empty file, while 3begfjb.newcfg and user.config are identical files. We tried to open these files but the data in user.config isn't proper xml rather its unreadable formatted file.Do any you guys had experienced this sort of issue or any ideas how and what may have created these files and corrupted user.config file.

I have to Panels on a Form. The "upper" Panel is set to Dock = Fill the second "down" Panel is set to Dock = Bottom
Ok. - During the application I add some usercontrols in to the "down" Panel.
Now in one of the usercontrols, I have two group boxes (also set to Fill & Bottom) In the upper groupbox (Dockstyle = Fill) There is a Grid and below the grid, I have two RadioButtons.
On my developer machine, I can see the Grid and the Radiobuttons. On an other machine (other resolution, and other Display), I have the problem that, the RadioButtons are not visible anymore. - The user has to change the height of the "down" Panel by hand, so he can see the RadioButtons.
What I try to do now (and I don't get it working) is: Set the minimum heigt of the "down" Panel so, that both Groupboxes are visible and what is more important: that the commands are all visible.

I would like to be able to adjust the heights of the rows on the dgv to fill the custom control on the target form whenever the custom control is resized. I am able to adjust the width of the various columns so that the dgv fills the custom control, but I have not been able to adjust the row heights in a similar way. I have tried the following code in the resize event of the custom control

This doesn't cause an error, but the code does not change the row height. The column width change works fine.
I am able to change the row height by changing the font size at custom control compile time. I have not tried to change the font size at runtime, since this would not achieve what I am trying to accomplish.
I suspect that my problem is that I have not set one or more of the autoresize flags properly, but I have tried all the combinations I can think of.
How do you detect the title bar's height?

How do you set just the height of a form without the title bar's height included in that?
I have a form which is a mdiParent, on this form I also have a left docking form which obviously reduces the size of the avaliable mdi area. Is there a way that I can get the width and height of the mdi area that is avaliable? I am programming in VB.Net.

I tried multiplying the number of rows by the row height, but that doesn't account for rows that wrap text onto multiple lines. Is this possible to do?
