When I go to settings in my application/Program and on the form I have a ColorDialog1 want to to save the back color from the ColorDialog1 That I have chosen. And in my settings I have (Name: BackColor, Type: System.Drawing.Color, Scope: User)

I am working on an virtual operating system. And I want the user to be able to change background, and at the same time save it! So, the next time he opens the application, the background is saved and changed.
I know that I have do this through project > settings, but I don't know how to program it. I have managed to allow the user to change background, but dont how to save it. Could anyone solve this little problem for me?
i have a form with some checkboxes on it i want to save those settings.

i am trying to figure out how to get buttons like the back/forward butons we see in internet explorer. i am seeing them in countless applications such as WMP, firefox, and even MS office i don't know what they are called so i can't find them in the toolbox or add them to the toolbox or even search youtube for video's on them
View 4 Repliestrying to save the settings in a settings form but every time m setting the settings (when the form is running) then exiting it and then reopening itare the settings that i setted not there Ex : I open form2 by clicking on a button thought form1 and change the settings for example i uncheck a checkbox then do i close form2 and then open it again. And the settings should be saved so the unchecked checkbox should still be unchecked.BUT when i close form1 should the settings be unsaved and go back to normal :)
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to save a setting that keeps what background image I'm currently using.If it's an external file, there is no problem, i can just get the .location and set it in a String setting to store it.
But, if I want to store an image resource as a setting, how do i do it?I know i can store rawdata, like bitmap information, but then i can't set that type of data to the my.background.
I don't know if the question should be: "how do i reference resources", but the my.resources.resource.methodsList doesnt contain anything that seems to be of use.
Is it possible to initialize a My.Settings value in a Visual Basic Deployment Project (VS 2008)? I can add the Radio Button Dialog to prompt the user, but I don't see how to use that to set the My.Settings value.
View 1 RepliesI'm designing a player application to accompany our phone system. As our calltakers take calls, it makes recordings of each call. They can go to a list module, find a recording and double click, which opens my player. The issue i have is that if the calltaker gets another call, my player doesn't know it and will continue playing. I'm looking for a way to monitor the screen in a particular area and when it sees yellow or red instead of blue, it will pause my player.
The phone system does not have any API's that I can hook onto, so I have to try it another way.
The screen resolution never changes and the queue buttons where they receive calls will always be static. When they get a call, a small area changes from the background color blue to yellow or red to indicate a call.

At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates
Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation.So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?
I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.
