I wanna set up a panel, that will, when opend up will sit on the side of the screen. It will consist of around 8 or so large buttons each with a different name on them. When the buttons are clicked on they will send the keys Ctrl+shift+F9 for example. Each different button will have a different variation of keys that it will automaticly send. The idea behind this is that I will have another program running that will be se up to perform actions when certain keys are pressed (Autohotkey if your familiar).
Now I'll be honest, I dont have a clue with visual basic, or any code other than html, hence why I'm posting here hoping I can get some help. Can anyone provide me with some information on how to set up buttons or how to do this entire task?
I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?
I am writing a program in VB express 2008 which I want to be able to receive input from an xbox controller as well as activate the rumble on the controller. I am using the XBCD drivers for the controller [URL].Basically I want to say "the further forward the thumbstick is pushed the more the controller should vibrate".
I'm working on a project where I have to send data to the serial port through a radio modem onto a servo controller. Everything works fine but since I use a timer to detect joystick changes (directX). Even if I don't touch the joystick, because of the timer it still sends data thru which is killing my battery on the receiver side.
I've been using DirectX SDK libraries (Specificaly DirectInput) to use a joystick with an desktop program, but I haven't been able to make the program get the input form the joystick (X and Y Axis). This is the code I'm using on Main Form:
When I plug in the USB joystick, I'll have to go to the control panel and select game controllers. I click on the properties and a pop-up is displayed. On the top left hand corner of it, there's this small square 'picture' with a plus sign at the middle indicating the joysticks' movement. As I moved up, the sign moves up as well and as I move down it does too. It depicts the movements of the joystick in use.
I was wondering how to code the exact same thing as I'm planning to place the square thingy in a 'question' image which will change after every submitted answer of the image using the joystick.
i want to read the joystick input?is it somewhat like keyboard input?
Private Sub form1_keydown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Me.KeyDown Select Case e.KeyValue Case Keys.Right TrackBar1.Value = TrackBar1.Value + 1
I have a VB 6 SP6 application that uses DirectX 7 to interface to a USB joystick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro). The application works under Windows XP Pro (32-bit).I've got Visual Studio and the application running under Windows 7 Pro SP1 (32-bit).
I've calibrated the joystick under Windows 7.The VB 6 application does not find any DirectX 7 joystick device to connect to.Otherwise, the VB 6 application works (GUI, embedded video, serial channel, Ethernet connections). The VB 6 application must be accessing the dx7vb.dll or it would crash. The joystick disc did not provide a driver.I installed the latest joystick Profiler vendor software from the Web.This is my first attempt to use Windows 7 as a platform.I'm not sure what to try from a Windows 7 perspective.
I have made a small program that reads the input of a joystick/GamePad and passes it on to a serial port. It works great I can see all the buttons pressed ect ( in a textbox). But When I minimize the form and press some buttons they are no longer passed on to the serial port and not shown into the textbox?
What I am trying to do now is design a program that will play 4 different sound files depending on the position of a joystick. I am not looking for any kind of gradient to be involved. Any kind of forward position should play the file associated with "forward". Any kind of left position should play the file associated with "left". And the same for "back" and "right".
I have only started using VB yesterday and have managed to make some very basic programs run. What I am trying to do now is design a program that will play 4 different sound files depending on the position of a joystick. I am not looking for any kind of gradient to be involved. Any kind of forward position should play the file associated with "forward". Any kind of left position should play the file associated with "left". And the same for "back" and "right".
I use DirectInput to control a joystick. Now I use a timer to continuously runs a sub Private Sub timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick UpdateUI() End Sub Public Sub UpdateUI() ' This function updated the UI with ' Joystick state information. [Code] .....
The problem is this is not very efficient. Now I would like to know if its possible to trigger a sub as soon a button D-sub of analog stick is pressed/moved. I've seen the following: [URL] How to implement this?
What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?
I'm using a dialog form with two buttons and two Radio buttons.I'm oppening this Dialog when a button is clicked on the parent form.My situattion is when the Dialog opens the code in the button event continues to execute, but I only want it to continue to execute only after a button from the dialog form have been clicked
Private Sub btnSave_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSave.Click If multipleEXT = 2 Then Extension.Show()
i need to get some buttons to interact with other buttons on screen when i click then, as each indivual button gives a slightly different result.imagine this:[code]....
then i need then to hide different buttons depending on which button was pressed. so say i pressed button 1 then all the buttons showed but alternativly if i had of pressed 2 then say button 5 and 6 disapear.managed to get one way to work but then i would only ever end up with the first results every time.
I'm using Visual Basic 2008 (Windows Applications) and have a webrowser control to access a website. Once loaded the page requests a log on. What code is needed to simulate a log on click?
the html is as follows: <form method="post" action="/index.html" style="display: inline">
i want to users to be able to vote for their favourite soft drink. They will input the names of the soft drinks through the use of an inputbox, the names input are stored in an array. what i would like to do is count the votes given to each soft drink. How would this be done, please provide example code if possible.
p.s. i tried using a listbox and failed.Well during the set up of the program they will input the names of all soft drinks up for voting, and then all the soft drinks input wll be displayed in a list when the voting take place.
I'm trying to do here is get VB to hold a key down until I tell it to stop. Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't understand why this isn't working. This code can hold down shift and so on for as long as I want it too but absolutely refuses to hold down what i need it too (any letter key or numpad key)[code]
Well i've been trying to make something run with a lot less code(and faster) but it seems with SendKeys some things are getting lost(or discarded) by the program, its only the arrow keys as I try & make it complete a pre-defined maze to see how fast it can be completed.
If I use SendKeys("RIGHT 8") for example the maze usually only moves a few times, sometimes maybe only 1.
Also I looked up how to hold a key down/simulate it but it's not working for the arrow keys(untested on other keys).
The only way i've made it work is delays, decently delayed like 200ms & it's a huge maze but if i hold a key manually I can go much faster yet sendkeys method can't go that fast using individual presses this is why I want to simulate a holding down action.
---it must be working xample code I can make it work for my purpose if it works like on button click, etc....but I tried copying full (supposedly working) codes before & they never worked for me/my key, xample cause i've looked & tried hard(with only failing results).
MORE INFO:Also I tried SendKeys.SendWait() which is meant to wait for keystrokes to be processed & that didn't help either so my best guess is the keystrokes are processed but discarded(like a movement delay code that doesn't queue movements but rather ignores extra movements)
