Slow Action On Visibility Change Of Textbox/ComboBox/DateTimePicker

I populate a hash table with the name of a control as the key and the control itself as the value using the following code that loops through my code on start-up:
Private Sub Populate_Hash_Table()
For Each ctrl As Control In Me.Controls
For Each member As Control In ctrl.Controls
[Code]....
This method works effectively, but the only problem is I seem to get a preformance hit as it takes a second to set the current control to false and the new one's visibility to true. What way should I modify my code so that it works more efficiently?
The DateTimePicker seems to be behaving irrationally. I have a normal form in VB2005. The datetimepicker value is set on entry to 01 March 2009. I set the value to 01 January 2009 by typing 1 in the 'March' area. I then use a keyboard shortcut to click a command button, eg. Alt-I. I noticed the DateTimePicker was late to update as the command button sequence started at 1 March 2009, not 1 January 2009. So I inserted the following line of HTML
[URL]I've found this, but I wanted to know if there is an equivilant for Windows Forms? At the moment changing a panel to .visibility = false just doesn't look at smooth as I'd like... so is there a way?
I'm trying to optimize my WPF/VB.net program, and I'm considering freezing some objects. However, while I know that an object that is animated in any way cannot be frozen, I need to know...can you change the visibility of a frozen object?
I have a hash table which contains the names of all my textboxes in my program. Then I have a function which takes in a string name of the text box and searches a the list of keys for the name. Once this name is found I would like to use the instance of the text box to be assigned the name of my target and change the visibility. Whereas if it isn't found I would like to ensure that the visibility is set to false with this instance of the textbox.
Private Sub HideBoxes(ByVal strName As String) Dim thisTEXT As TextBox For Each objKey In Hash.Keys If objKey.ToString = strName Then
I seem to be having a problem binding the visibility property of a textbox to a database value using the advanced binding property.I found this article (BUG: Inconsistent behavior when you bind the Visible property of a Windows Form control to a Boolean field) stating there is a bug in some ol
I am trying to add a little functionality to my textboxes by making a label show when the values of the textbox are greater than a certain amount. The method is working, but only works on certain values (between >8 and 10) and I can't figure out why it won't work on values greater than 10.
Private Sub Submit1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Submit1.Click Dim sum As Double Try If hrs1.Text <> "" Then [Code] ..... I've also set the visibility of the labels to false in the onload event of the form.
The title says it all, I'm having some difficulties with the combobox, The items in the list are "Black & Green" - Black will be the Backcolor of a Text box, and Green will be the Forecolor. The App I made is just a Mimic of a CMD, and replicates the output of the command into the Textbox. It's 100% complete, but I'd love it to have the ability to have different colors to choose rather than White and Black.

I found this article (BUG: Inconsistent behavior when you bind the Visible property of a Windows Form control to a Boolean field) stating there is a bug in some older versions of the .net framework.
In the following XAML the editPanel is always visible. The overlayGrid is only visibile when a long operation has been kicked off by pressing the F5 key. The visual effect being that the editPanel is grayed out will the long process takes place.
Ok basically what I am doing is using panels to create virtual "pages" within my application, and using buttons to switch from page to page. However whenever I click the button to move from page1 to page2, page 1 disappears and page2 does not become visible.
Private Sub page1_next_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles page1_next.Click page2.Visible = True page1.Visible = False ToolStripStatusLabel1.Text = status_page2 End Sub
Also, how do I make it so that when the user focuses on a text box a tool tip pops up?
i am creating app , its a question i am stciked at , i am using vb 2008 by using databinding my combobox has the list ready from one column but as selection change the values from all textboxes and labels should change as per the combbox's selection can anyone help
I have a form which contains a large number of textboxes covering numerous panels/tab controls and I would like to have the user only have one text box visible at a given time and when the user clicks on the screen to another label with a corresponding text box I would like that to appear and the other currently open to disappear. Currently I have the following loop that goes through and changes the visibility of the appropriate controls unless it is the name of the control I am looking for:
'This is used to iterate through all the controls in the form and ensure the visibility of all other controls ' than the active control is set to false.
Im currently debugging my application to found out why it's running a bit slow, when I put breakpoint where i populate one of the application combobox it's run fast but after i populate it and when I'm trying to set the its selectedindex to zero the program halt for about 2 second.. this is the line where the program get stuck for 2 seconds:
How do I Change the Action Center Settings. I have already a function that will change the windows updates to never check for updates. Once I turn it off an Action Center Message pops up. This message can be turned off via Windows. The same process I am trying to implement using VB.NET.
I am trying to add a combobox into my datagrid which connect to access database by using the code below. The result I wish to get is the combobox is locate at my datagrid column that already exist, but what I get now is it will add a new column with combobox that I want to add. Can I just update the combobox into my existing column7 but not a new column?[code]...
I have a checked list box having some items .When I click any item it first select the item and then when I again click it then check box is checked/unchecked How to change this behavior means I want to perform selection and check/uncheck action in a single click.
Basically, i don't want to use <input type="submit"> mainly because it's a button, i'd rather user ActionLink, so i am using Ajax.ActionLink, and i'm not sure what to place in the routeValues argument for it to pickup the new (edited) data (user enters comments etc) and send it to my action.this is what i have, but of course, it sends the original comment before user edit back to the server/action :)
<%= Ajax.ActionLink("Update", "UpdateComment", Model.Comment, New AjaxOptions With {.UpdateTargetId = Model.CommentDivId, .HttpMethod = "Post"})%>
ps: i know how to do this in javascript, and doing ajax posts etc,
I also have an array; a combobox and a variable called: TimeInterval. here is the code I use:
Code: Dim ReadingFrequency(7) As Double Dim TimeInterval As Integer Private Sub CustomizeGraph_frm_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
[code]....
What I want is to change how much the datetimepicker increments, when you click the arrows, depending on the value that is entered in the combobox. For example, if the user has 2 hours in the combobox, the datetimepicker will increment by two hours and won't let the user change the minutes. If the user selects 15 minutes, the minutes will increment by 15 on the datetimepicker.
How to change the background Color of the "Box" (that shows the day, Date etc ith an Arrow for Dropdown calendar) that appears in the Form1 when you add the DateTimePicker to the Form. This I want to do since the white color of this DateTimePicker Box gives a horrible look when I make the Form with a different color and I want this DateTimePicker to have the same color as the color of the Form where the dateTimePicker lies. I am learning Visual Basic using MS VS 2005.
here is part of the code i am working with at the moment:
Public Sub runbar(ByVal time As Integer) sleep(2) Dim i As Integer i = 0 ProgressBar1.Maximum = time
[Code]...
The problem is that when i click the button to run this, it does the runbar animation BEFORE it updates the text box. I have even tried putting a loop around the TextBox1.Text = obj to see if that would force it to work, but it did not. I would like to know if there is anyway to get the text to update before the runbar animation runs, just seams weird as i have the text editing first lol.
a datacontext defined in a module(domain services ado.net ria)a page having add/delete methods whenever any method is executed, it is found that all the previous actions (NEW RECORD ADDITION and DELETION OF RECORDS) are carried out before the new action is carried out normally
this behaviour is not prominent but "when using break points and inspecting the values of the variables and table object to be added to context, it is clear that all the previous actions take place again. even when the datacotext. savechanges is called, even after that still all actions carried out on the datacontext repeat themseleves, when any new action is to be carried out
