Can't Split String With Space Character Using Split(" "c)
Dec 28, 2011I'm trying to split a Yahoo historical stock price csv file, downloaded into a string, by what looks like a space character. I want a new row for each split. The split function works for other characters I see in the string. I suspect the characters may be a non breaking space character but I've been unable to split on them. Jan 11, 2012I have an string that is returned from an xml file and looks similar to this name1="test 1" name2="test2" name3="test 3".I want to split this into 3 elements of key=value. I can't just split using a space because some of my values may contain spaces, e.g., test 1.So, I'd like to split the string using the " before the space. I've tried many variations but can't figure out the correct syntax to specify that my split characters are a " followed by a space. For instance, I've tried text.split({""" "}) but that returns elements split by " and ignores the space after the ".It shouldn't be this difficult. Can someone please help me with the correct syntax?

Mar 1, 2012I would like to create a split container with a three way split. The first split is a vertical split. The second is creating a horizontal split within panel2 of the first split container. panel1 will hold a treeview control the other two panels will hold listview controls
I think this question has been asked already in a couple different ways and I've reviewed those posts and I've tried to do what was suggested but it doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried to place a second split container inside panel2 of the first split containter. This gave me what appeared to be a three way vertical split.

So far i have 2 labels and a progress bar. in the top level i have the name of what the progress bar is, and the second below the progress bar states the amount such as this "430GB/740GB". i also want the progress bar to state the percent of how full this drive is. how can i do the following:

Sep 28, 2011I have a program in VB.net that uses a 3D array:
Private gridList(10, 900, 900) As GridElement
Now, I just used a Memory Profiler on it (because my application is having some major leak issues or something) and apparently, this array (containing at the moment of testing 0-30 elements at one time) is using 94% of the memory currently in use by my application. Even when it is empty it takes up huge amounts of memory.
My only assumption is that even empty arrays take up space! This puts a major blow into my plans!
My Question:
Is there any alternative to this that allows me to still have the same abilities to map i.g. I've been using it like this:
Dim cGE as GridElement = gridList(3, 5, 7)
but doesn't hog up so much memory for things that aren't using memory?
